Ah, it's so nostalgic seeing the lower-paced warframe gameplay. Reminds me of ye olden beta days I'm also loving how this series also doubles as a bit of a tutorial for newer players, from the way you're explaining mechanics. Great job!

I'd say that it must be embarrassing but then I remember not everyone spent their first couple of hundred hours focusing excessively on spy missions xD
For future reference it's really easy to copy your settings file to your new accounts. In Local/Warframe you can find folders for each account that's logged into that PC, and in those folders is a settings file, simply copy it over.
I think the great thing about this is that newbies will be able to watch as a tutorial, and veterans will be able to watch just to see your method, and either way it'll be entertaining and well-explained.
With all the baby tenno journeys starting up, didn't expect one from possibly one of the most seasoned warframe creators haha. Like all the others, I will be watching with great interest (and maybe learning stuff along the way)
doing it solo, especially with the trading and clan restrictions, will I think make it especially informative. A lot of the newer folks are creators who can easily pull together a squad of 4 to grind/farm essentially anything they need. Something like this will hopefully show people that, while the game is designed to be social and can be a lot more fun that way, it doesn't need to be; and there's no reason to let that aspect put you off giving it a try :)
Solo clan is such a fun thing to do. I decided I wanted to do a solo clan on my warframe account and it’s awesome to grind your way through all the items you need.
Same here. Started with sone friends years ago. Ended up being the only one still playing off and on. Had to self fund pretty much everything! Only just started selling things for plat at 1k hours in so Dan is better at warframe than I am!
I was in a clan on xbox in the early days of Warframe, but everyone stopped playing and I wasn't even able to modify it so I started my own clan. Years later, I was able to aquire everything except for an item which needed mutagen samples. When cross play was introduced, my friend from PlayStation was in a clan where all the players had left as well. He decided to leave it and joined me. He helped cover the mutagen samples I needed. It's just the two of us now, but we got everything we need.
3:53 warframe damage calculation is just nut. I know the enemy is lvl 1 and the Paris stats are actually pretty good combined with that 357 damage from Volt passive but damn to hit an 11k shot like that.
This is such a cool series. Perfect blend of tutorial (as we have come to expect) and challenge run (for those of us who have watched enough of your videos to no longer need your videos XD)
It's crazy this comes out now, I've been theorycrafting an ironmanesque Warframe series for like a month now, thinking up the rulesets and exceptions that would have to be made. Glad to see someone as talented as you beat me to it!
This is how I did my switch account, before cross save. It was actually really fun, and did a great job of helping me understand mechanics that I had never explored before, especially with clan dojo stuff
Of all the creators I watch I am most pleased to see you out of all of them do a good proper "from the start" account type series. Every part of your methodical explanation of everything from the tone of your voice to the actual content you're talking about is perfect for this. As well as how analytical and thorough you are in general. I kinda wanted to do one myself over the many years but I'm very glad to see that you are. Always appreciate your vids and I'm sure A LOT of newer tenno will as well 👍
This takes me back to when I was freaking out about where to get plastids back in 2014. Good times, little did I Know polymer bundle hell was lying in wait.
I was on that plastids journey, needing to get to Deimos to get them. Unfortunately RNG hated me for getting the required codex scans because they didn't show up in missions for the longest time. Now those scans have been removed from the junction requirements to advance to Deimos. Good times nonetheless.
I get like average 700 polymer bundle on the Venus capture mission breaking every crate, takes me way longer to farm plastids on cambion drift and can even be a pain sometimes
ken is the onl;y creator i've seen that can retain my attention when doing this kind of challenge. i've watched a few videos of warframe players with extensive knowledge starting over but he is BY FAR the most entertaining
THIS IS GREAT ACTUALLY! My friend has recently grabbed warframe and has been dredging through the star chart and recently got to Uranus and the quests there. It'll be great to help him see how some of the early game stuff works that he hasn't found yet.
Here's a TIP from a Vertan player if anyone reads this lol, when doing a rescue if the dude goes down but you can extract just get to extraction, even if he's down you can extract till he dies just keep it in mind. That has saved me on some solo rescue missions when i was a beginner
There's a big void of warframe youtube content like this, a full experience instead of dives into specific builds or objectives. This is gonna be an excellent series, good shit man!
Oh boy, i m locked into this! Hey just want to say that your channel is my fav warframe channel by far. I love the way you explain stuff and especially, your voice and your scripts are amazing! Let's go Dan you got this!
I really really like the idea of a series like this I feel like it breathes life into Warframe I see a whole bunch of other videos on the newest weapons and the best builds and it's really not very immersive but this type of video makes me want to watch you accomplish things. W Content
man its really great that warframe hands out basic mods by default now. back when I started in 2020 during the height of the corona scare I needed to play until saturn for serration to drop, only had the flawed version til then.
This looks like an awesome series, and I love how you explain everything for new players and experienced players who just didn't know that part yet. Thanks!
Despite the 'Solo Only' theme you do with this, it's a good learning experience for new players cause you really explain every choice and decision you make along the journey.
Wow! This is such a great change of pace!!! Thank you for this! I'm so used to Warframe content on TH-cam being either comedy shenanigans or tutorials for maximizing builds. Which are great, and I love them, don't get me wrong. But it is good to be remanded that this is a very beautiful game with a lot of chill moments. Can't wait for the next expisodes! Have a good one, mate. Love your content!
never thought I'd see a pseudo-lets play series that'd probably turn into a "how to win the video game fast" story from an ultra-efficient dude who makes guides. You're almost making ME want to give it a go. sounds like a fun time.
Oh hey! A fresh playthrough with an actual effort to explain what's going on? And actual limitations and instead of just bee-lining to someone else's dojo and sweeping the game with zephyr? Finally.
Instant click when I saw this go up in the server, I've been excited for this! You're striking a lovely balance on two accounts here: between your very informative videos and more casual streams, and between giving newbies valuable information and still keeping it fun for veteran players as well. The editing is pleasant, the quality of the captions greatly appreciated, and the nostalgia is hitting hard
I recall as a newbie celebrating finding Hornet Strike. DE have made strides on improving early game access to core equipment. Definitely more on that in the next episode!
New to the channel. I'm liking this series. I've played Warframe for over 10 years now, Legendary Mastery Rank 4, and one thing that has always bugged me that I don't like about the game is how I still have no idea about the story line and what is actually going on. Hopefully this series can help me better understand the lore and universe of the game and help me enjoy the game even further outside of the amazing game play.
If you're struggling with understanding the story of Warframe, I'd recommend watching TheDsIEGE videos about it, and if you're interested in not only the story but its inspirations and interpretation SocraTetris videos are a fun watch, although they're quite long so I recommend watching them in multiple sessions
I started less than 2 months ago, some things are still extremely confusing, like new characters not being introduce and acting like we've known them for years which happened a few times
This is a really fun idea for a series. I think it's silly to pretend to be a newbie or to not know things a new player wouldn't know, though. Or to be unaware of the other tenno that you're going to be selling to later. Your stated restrictions are the challenge, and that's interesting enough. Other than that, though, great idea! Good pacing, editing, and production quality as always. I'm genuinely looking forward to the next installment. All hail Dan!
Okay, this is something that I’ve needed for a while now. I don’t have any frame of reference for what is proper progression. I’m a relatively new player and I think that this will be a great help.
Such a perfect time for zero to hero. People like myself were reminded how good Warframe is when playing The Last Descendant. I have been having a great time coming back to this game.
When TNW was about to release, I created a second account with sole purpose to replay the quest (replayability was added some time after the initial release). While I didn't set any rules for myself, I followed almost exactly the same path (with an exception of having bought plat once and sometimes doing pub relics instead of solo). I even picked up Volt as my starter!
It's been a long time since I was a newbie, originally starting out on Console and then starting over again on PC, the New Player experience is so much better than when I first started. I love that the game starts giving you important mods early and that it isn't giving you the flawed mods anymore. The flawed mods were a big noob trap for me originally, as I invested a not insignificant amount of credits and endo into those and finding out what I'd invested could have been invested in proper mods that would have provided a bigger power boost.
Started playing about 7 months ago and knew nothing about the game at the time. I've Soloed everything so far including clan. Currently MR16, max rank on all OW syndicates and three of the faction syndicates, all quests done and about 3/5 of all clan research finished. Been able to start steel path for a while but I've waited till I finish with some personal goals before that (max rank on Necraloid, The Holdfasts and Cavia, very close to that now). Having an absolute blast, there are only a few things I have had real trouble with so far and I've overcome most already. It's been hard, both in good and bad ways, and I've still got a lot to learn but I'm just still excited and loving almost every minute of it!
nice idea of a series. reminds me of PoE SSF. As a veteran, I might also try it out in the future. Good luck Tenno, and may the loot gods always by your side.
Man, I just started this as a group of 3. The only exception is we are starting with a clan. Hot Tip, speed through quests, and MR5 as you are able to claim kuva weapons without MR requirements according to wiki.
I've thought about doing a second playthrough exactly like this for years. I think I'll make my final decision after I see whatever pain points come up with yours XD
Ahh sweet I did the same thing and it is very refreshing to do....keep it up bro I'd enjoy this very much as I am on the same path being solo from start to finish is really refreshing after so many hours
Man, so many changes to the early game, this is making me want to start up a new account to check things out. Plus the dopamine hits from all the constant rank ups and new loot; kinda selling me on the idea of this challenge!
I generally love watching warframe youtubers, but one thing that I always see is them saying "Oh this game isnt that hard to grind" while they are gifted 50 relics packs a day, have 5 years of every resource boosters and are gifted tens of thousands of forma. Like... do you have any idea how much time it takes to farm one forma? do you know the hundreds of hours it takes to get relics? and they act like we're just losers who aren't equipped to grind like them when in reality we have lives and only so much time to spend on a game and so many damn resources to get in so little time. That's why I like this video where he literally does it all, just like us. every grind, not being able to install potatoes, not having enough forma. Its refreshing to see honestly.
When I was a wee lad me and a friend had a clan was in that clan from rank 4-8 and during that time I got completely hooked into Warframe and specifically mastery. Didn’t care about builds or optimal weapon/ companion set ups my fun was from mastery and I realized that I can farm a lot faster than the other people in the clan and being a 10 person clan meant lower costs for me. So mastery 8 brand new dojo just started building very very slowly and it evolved with me it’s very very personal and I only have 2 items left the Hema and Knux every bit of forma every single one of those stupid faction resources it takes a while but it’s very possible and very fulfilling, I wouldn’t leave or give up my clan for any amount of money even though it’s just me and one other.
Interesting series. Reminds me of how I started out. I was also mostly solo, chose Volt. Barely used any abilities bc I always ran out and didn't think energy pizzas were worth it. I scoured for all loot crates manually because I didn't get the minimap mods / vacuum / limbo for quite a long time. For some reason I spent a significant amount in the old Corpus ship tileset so I miss it now greatly.
I recently started a similar challenge run. Limiting myself to f2p and mr0 (I did not limit myself to a solo clan and joined a friend. Also I gifted the alt with a necramech as the bounties re mr locked). I fully encourage challenge runs for players who are looking for a new challenge in this game. This kinda run really tests your understanding of the game mechanics making even star chart a significant hurdle
Finally something i can follow, im planning to play Warframe but for reasons i cant play at the moment, I'd like to see what it looks like for beginner and most videos ive seen in yt are about meme and top 5, 10 bs which i dont know really care for now.
Perfect timing, I just started my own personal challenge like this! The main difference I've got is that I am also trying to do it deathless, so basically the same thing as with arbitrations, one life per mission. Also I am still yiffy on joining clans or not. It'd be nice to make your own clan but I would also like to craft some of those low level weapons I never used on my main account and use them while clearing star chat!
It is funny to think about how another Tenno's journey through the origin system would go. Like yeah, Volt and Excal along with a good other frames were mass produced as front line soldiers in the Old War, but think about all the unique frames we've gathered through our own exploits, significantly boosting our arsenal. Eternalism aside, Umbra's one guy. It's interesting to think about other Tenno with us in the origin system, using whatever tools they have access to in their journey.
My go-to for new account grind is: Volt > Rush Venus > Tombfinger Kitguns/Amps Craftable weapons have strong base stats and aren't MR locked, so you're ready to clear the whole system. A bonus is Fortuna gives you enough gear to solo tridolons, even without Marudai since Magus Melt with Virtuos Fury/Strike lets the operator kill limbs. Of course the Zariman Amps are better, but handling late game content after just unlocking Venus is pretty good still.
Omg tyvm for this series I can't wait for next episodes. I am kinda newish to warframe got into it after playing tfd. I want to see how u would progress as a fresh account and learn from it. I am sure I will learn alot. So my experience was very overwhelming and still is. Like one minute I am doing a quest then suddenly im doing an invasion then hopping on a mission from "events". There so much to do I can't keep my thoughts straight and fearing I will miss out on this or that reward. Also rn I am not sure if should do my daily standings or farm some warframes and materials to get my mr up.
That is almost what I did, but I had a few more restrictions: Using Plat is not allowed (not even the 50 starting Plat), only MR 0 Weapons allowed (except necessary Weapons or free Weapons for MR levels). I crossed out the MR restrictions once I've unlocked steel path and killed Archons. Edit: My choice for starter was also Volt. In my opinion he is the best starter. Melee is king at the start and with the speed boost it helps a lot. Later when you need to shoot (e.g. Nechramechs) stuff the shield helps a lot to boost the damage a lot. That was probably the most fun I've had with Warframe ever. Due to the restrictions I had to plan carefully my Roster of Warframes and Weapons and ofc. the most efficient route to achieve everything.
I have actually started a solo adventure in my second account a few weeks ago, with the same rules except trading, I won´t trade anything in this account, I am actually enjoying this challenge. Can´t wait to see how Dan is gonna do it too!
You need trading for plat for slots. Otherwise you’re stuck waiting for DE handouts and deleting weapons and frames or waiting for another round of nightwave. It’s a slog. Solo relic cracking too. Yuck.
I just started a new account (I was having trouble transferring my original account from Switch) so a series like this is perfect for me, since I want to make sure I don't make any early game mistakes and just play more optimally in general.

It's been hard, both in good and bad ways, and I've still got a lot to learn but I'm just still excited and loving almost every minute of it!
this is going to be fantastic. ive actually turned on notifications.
man, my new favorite series
nice idea of a series. reminds me of PoE SSF.
Going to be an incredible series!
I feel like this will be the best beginners guide!
I can't wait to see more of Dan's adventures.
Amazing concept, please do try your best at this and I'll be watching as much as I can. Much love from SEA here sadly can't catch the streams often.
all the disgusting grind ahead... i can't wait.
That's some nice drop of an idea!
I love that!
And I love the new player friendly focus of this video, even tho i have way too much hours in this game XD
Interesting series, will look forward to following this one
Looking forward to watching this journey
I just started a new playthrough! Its really fun going from scratch solo! Great way to experience the story again too.
Loving this series already ❤
It is funny to think about how another Tenno's journey through the origin system would go. Like yeah, Volt and Excal along with a good other frames were mass produced as front line soldiers in the Old War, but think about all the unique frames we've gathered through our own exploits, significantly boosting our arsenal. Eternalism aside, Umbra's one guy. It's interesting to think about other Tenno with us in the origin system, using whatever tools they have access to in their journey.
Massive grind ahead
Dan "the man" Thunder-stroke. LET'S GO!
My go-to for new account grind is:
Volt > Rush Venus > Tombfinger Kitguns/Amps
Craftable weapons have strong base stats and aren't MR locked, so you're ready to clear the whole system.
Yuck.
good job. cant wait for pt. 2
Knowing your vids this is a perfect vid for some1 looking to get back into warframe(never played much to begin with) like me
I play a lot of solo stuff. Let's just say I learned to love specters and on call crew was a game changer.
Looking forward to more of this!
I love this The Kengineer please make more
I just started a new account (I was having trouble transferring my original account from Switch) so a series like this is perfect for me, since I want to make sure I don't make any early game mistakes and just play more optimally in general.
damn, made me feel nostalgic with those dark times when im still grinding for mods and resources
