UPDATE: Mark did end up purchasing JR51 from Landon to put in his Batesville Museum which you can see in this video! th-cam.com/video/XXFIwkkZd5U/w-d-xo.html
Something you may see on tv for 45 seconds before the race may have a huge awesome story behind it like this. We’re super grateful for NBC and NASCAR for allowing us to use the on track footage. Just an awesome day. If you haven’t seen the other videos we’ve done with Mark you should check them out!

I'm sure you two have read and heard everything that l could add, except that l was am still am a huge DALE SR. Fan. That said, l knew that if Mark Martin was in the race, ( not smashed or broken ) on the lead lap, it was Mark that l was afraid of late in the race, he drove as he said, " to win " and he pushed to the breaking point many times, but he could find away to win! Overheated gears, transmission trouble, you name it, l remember? I think JACK ROUSCH say that if they could give Mark a great car, one that didn't fall apart, that Mark could have won many more races, l think it went like that? Jack was always behind his drivers, 🤏 Now that's for all drivers of course, better equipment more wins, but Mark had more dnf's that wasn't his fault. Great Racer, one of the best!
You two knocked it out once again, Thank you!
Tears for this stuff!, you know what l mean. I had to watch it in two parts, l haven't watch a race fully after DALE SR. passed, l tried to watch JR. And did some, but only some.
Tears for SR. and JR. today, l get to thinking what SR. Would be doing now? What car he would drive as a legend? Of course it would be the DAYTONA WINNER, why haven't the greats put something together for SR.?
Mark, Rusty, JR., J Gordon... l mean away from the on track stuff, DALE SR. NASCAR AMBASSADOR!
MARK MARTIN, an absolute awesome driver and tough competitor. I wish NASCAR would do more for their past legends. Except for D. W. 😉
So much history, you guys, Logan and you need to expand, D. W. any plans? Like for, pick any l guess? The LABONTY BROTHERS? Good luck, 👍 and Thanks for what you two are doing. Us oldies love ❤️ what you produce.

My Dad was a huge Mark Martin fan (I was Dale Sr. fan)....I always had so much respect for Mark. If Dale couldn’t win the race, I was pulling for Mark 😊My Dad just passed away unexpectedly back on Nov. 4 and I was with him when it all went down. He was 70.

Landon, you made this 68 year old lifetime NASCAR Fan, have a few tears in my eyes. I see Mark driving that special car, just brought back many memories, of the cleanest driver, and the most loved driver I ever saw in the series. Drivers like him, are what brought the extreme popularity to the sport. Thanks for everything.

I watched Mark run and win the Red Bud at Anderson speedway, I remember a second car like the one he was driving parked behind the grand stands near turn one. It was the white and orange number 2 Camaro but it had holes cut out of the bumper unlike the one he was racing that night. He also drove for my uncle Bill and that Camaro was painted blue and had G.W. PIERCE on the quarter panels. Sadly though Bill, Buckie, and Arthela have passed away. Mark was and is my favorite driver from nascar, I met him only once at the dealership in Batesville. Super kind person especially to the children. Thanks for the video Stapleton42.

I met Mark at a Walmart, on his way to Taladega , from
Arkansas. He was not a bit egotistical or rude. I tried to leave him alone as he had to stop for things he had left home. He had to be the biggest 5’6” guy I have ever met. Super restoration. Now if you can get Jack to adjust the carburetor.

What does Landon do for a living because I was floored to hear he was only 4 when this car raced (as was I!!) and this restoration couldn't have been cheap!!! I grew up watching races with my dad and his favorite driver was Mark, so naturally, mine was too. He's the reason my favorite number is 6. I haven't had a favorite driver since he retired. Not to mention my interest in the sport has waned, but regardless... But I truly love these videos you do with Mark. I need to get out all the memorabilia and hats I have with that good ol' #6 on it.
