Landon is keeping a true piece of history alive and I don't blame him for giving Mark first right of refusal when he if/when wants to sell it! Mark was like a little kid climbing into the car and driving it again.....to talk about it as well, he really enjoyed it, one can tell he loved this car! It should be noted that Dale Sr was also a friend of Mark and Jack Roush, Jack gave him the opportunity to drive one of Mark's cars...... Dale said about that experience "Its a really nice handling car, it just lacks the power compared to ones I run!"
😳😳😳😳Dang I miss the 90s and Mark being out there along spotty all those drivers from that time. The modern era just can't hold a candle now compared to this car and design. Great videos series yet again!!!!

Was a huge fan of Mark Martin during his racing years. One of my all time favorites. He was an awesome driver with tons of driving skills. Won many races, too. It's too bad he never won a championship. It really sucks because he really deserves being a Cup champion. And, he was one of the cleanest drivers in NASCAR history. No matter how hard he race anyone, he was always clean hard racing. Never hit or bump or spin you out. Awesome sportsmanship! I'm glad he won many races and is a 5-time IROC champion. 👍👍👍👍👍😁
I have to agree with you on this. For how much I loved Dale Earnhardt he was not as clean of a driver as Mark Martin. Mark was a true professional in a sport of cut throats.
that car made me a mark martin fan when I was 12yrs old. I can remember nascar races as far back as 1992, and going with my dad to races... but this car is what made me a nascar fan officially.

I'm almost 70 and I miss him out there SO much. Those were the best days ever when Mark was out there taking names and kicking. My mother never missed a race just to watch Mark. Thank you for this video.
My Dad was a huge Mark Martin fan (I was Dale Sr. fan)....I always had so much respect for Mark. If Dale couldn’t win the race, I was pulling for Mark 😊My Dad just passed away unexpectedly back on Nov. 4 and I was with him when it all went down. He was 70.
Landon, you made this 68 year old lifetime NASCAR Fan, have a few tears in my eyes. I see Mark driving that special car, just brought back many memories, of the cleanest driver, and the most loved driver I ever saw in the series. Drivers like him, are what brought the extreme popularity to the sport. Thanks for everything.
My first Nascar game was Nascar 99 & I remember the big 3 were Dale Sr, Jeff Gordon, & Mark Martin. When I saw this car yesterday before the race I thought back to being a kid & why I still follow Nascar today. Cool to see this vid, thanks for posting!
I watched Mark run and win the Red Bud at Anderson speedway, I remember a second car like the one he was driving parked behind the grand stands near turn one. It was the white and orange number 2 Camaro but it had holes cut out of the bumper unlike the one he was racing that night. He also drove for my uncle Bill and that Camaro was painted blue and had G.W. PIERCE on the quarter panels. Sadly though Bill, Buckie, and Arthela have passed away. Mark was and is my favorite driver from nascar, I met him only once at the dealership in Batesville. Super kind person especially to the children. Thanks for the video Stapleton42.
DANG IT STAPLETON!!!!!!! I aint cryin!!!!! When Mark hit that bank..... and his right hand reached around that steering wheel and set...... "RACE MODE ENGANGED" With these videos man..... you are brilliant...... your vision is going to honestly shine for so so many years to come!
When he reached around that steering wheel, you knew right then and there that this was no doubt THE car. It was just like instinct, and I never really saw any other driver drive like that.
I met Mark at a Walmart, on his way to Taladega , from Arkansas. He was not a bit egotistical or rude. I tried to leave him alone as he had to stop for things he had left home. He had to be the biggest 5’6” guy I have ever met. Super restoration. Now if you can get Jack to adjust the carburetor.
Especially at the Daytona 500 when he was 2nd to Harvick that's the only race I cried at the end of. I still hate to see the replays of that finish. I literally fell off the couch and sobbed on the floor when the announcer called the win for Harvick
Yep and he was runner up four different times could have had championships in the cup series in his career but was taken away from him one of them I know of for sure one year they said something was wrong with his shock spring that it was off a bit and that kept him from getting a championship and they give it to Dale Earnhardt
@@sabirtalut2311 I remember that as clear as today I watched that race Mark Martin during that race was running first a caution was coming out during the last lap but they didn't throw it yet but Martin slowed down Kevin Harvick went by him and won the race and also the championship So that was one of Mark Martin's runner-up four different times for the championship that he never did get
@@sabirtalut2311 okay got you I do know he was runner up four times But I really do wish Matt Martin would get back into racing like he used to do when he was younger but he never was into it like his dad
Man as a big Mark Martin fan all my life this video ranks high in my list. I was able to watch him win in 1998 in Charlotte. One of the most humblest person you’ll ever see.
My Dad’s favorite driver was Mark Martin . He would have really loved to see this video . Miss you Pops . Mark is a Nascar legend , so nice to see him enjoying himself on that ride
That thing made me all tingly inside when he hit that starter button. Man that thing sounds sooo good. Another awesome Stapleton Adventure World video👍👍
In '98, for my 13th birthday, we went to the April race at TMS and I saw Mark run away with it in this car. I remember a huge wreck at the start of the 2nd lap nearly ruining the race. "The Golden Era" is absolutely right. I was locked in all through my childhood from about 1991 to 2001.
It was so cool to see Mark back in the car. I was a Dale fan back then. Mark was the enemy. It wasn’t until I found Mark’s podcast and saw you telling his story that I really came to appreciate the NASCAR treasure he really is. All that said, part of the fun of watching all the golden area tours is remembering things I’d forgotten about from different viewpoints. I’ve had a ton of OMG moments.
I was a MM (and all of the Ford other drivers) fan back then. And I despised Dale E. When he died, I knew NASCAR was done. I sure am a Dale fan now, for all he did to make NASCAR fun to watch. He sure is missed.
What does Landon do for a living because I was floored to hear he was only 4 when this car raced (as was I!!) and this restoration couldn't have been cheap!!! I grew up watching races with my dad and his favorite driver was Mark, so naturally, mine was too. He's the reason my favorite number is 6. I haven't had a favorite driver since he retired. Not to mention my interest in the sport has waned, but regardless... But I truly love these videos you do with Mark. I need to get out all the memorabilia and hats I have with that good ol' #6 on it.
Mark was always my favourite driver, My hair stood up for like 75% or this video. Almost cried twice. The amount of memory’s that came from deep I didn’t remember I had. The nostalgia that came from this video is unreal. What a rush of emotions, thank you for this video.
All time favorite driver, my favorite paint scheme! What a class act Mark Martin is. We desperately need guys like Mark and his influence and respectability to right NASCAR's ship. I remember the 98 race just, great race. I have several version of this car in die-cast. Thank you to everybody for this video absolutely loved it!!! Heard Mark didn't get to see Jack or anyone from Roush, what an incredible loss to Roush. Thank you Landon for such a beautiful restoration
Mark Martin always raced with great intensity, and he still retains that same level to this day! A truly great driver in a fantastic era of NASCAR. What a great video, Mitchell and Logan!! SO informative and well done, as are they all!!! 👍👍🙏🙏

I'm almost 70 and I miss him out there SO much. Those were the best days ever when Mark was out there taking names and kicking. My mother never missed a race just to watch Mark. Thank you for this video.
You’re welcome Charles we are so glad you’re here
My Dad was a huge Mark Martin fan (I was Dale Sr. fan)....I always had so much respect for Mark. If Dale couldn’t win the race, I was pulling for Mark 😊My Dad just passed away unexpectedly back on Nov. 4 and I was with him when it all went down. He was 70.
Mark Martin is the reason I started watching NASCAR. Thank you Mark.
Choked me up a bit too! Thanks for this amazing content!!!
I totally agree with Mark, you have the best channel on Nascar history on TH-cam. Hands down! Another great video. Thanks Mitchell and Logan!
Thanks Dawson!!
Thank you for being here Jesse
DANG IT STAPLETON!!!!!!! I aint cryin!!!!! When Mark hit that bank..... and his right hand reached around that steering wheel and set...... "RACE MODE ENGANGED" With these videos man..... you are brilliant...... your vision is going to honestly shine for so so many years to come!
When he reached around that steering wheel, you knew right then and there that this was no doubt THE car. It was just like instinct, and I never really saw any other driver drive like that.
I met Mark at a Walmart, on his way to Taladega , from
Arkansas. He was not a bit egotistical or rude. I tried to leave him alone as he had to stop for things he had left home. He had to be the biggest 5’6” guy I have ever met. Super restoration. Now if you can get Jack to adjust the carburetor.
Absolutely beautiful restoration! I'll bet Mr. Martin was as happy as a puppy with two peters. 😂
Man I love Mark Martin. I cried on the inside every time he got 2nd place
@@sabirtalut2311 I remember that as clear as today
I watched that race
Mark Martin during that race was running first a caution was coming out during the last lap but they didn't throw it yet but Martin slowed down Kevin Harvick went by him and won the race and also the championship
So that was one of Mark Martin's runner-up four different times for the championship that he never did get
@@bhuff557 yeah I remember that but I think it wasn't a spring. The spring was '02 and Tony Stewart got the championship with Mark Martin 2nd
@@sabirtalut2311 okay got you
I do know he was runner up four times
But I really do wish Matt Martin would get back into racing like he used to do when he was younger but he never was into it like his dad
I saw this car in person this weekend and had no clue it had this story behind it, absolutely beautiful car!
Man as a big Mark Martin fan all my life this video ranks high in my list. I was able to watch him win in 1998 in Charlotte. One of the most humblest person you’ll ever see.
This car and Mark Martin have ties to me and my great grandfather so it’s so surreal to see this exact car back on track and have mark run it
My Dad’s favorite driver was Mark Martin .
Mark is a legend. Awesome to see him get to relive a piece of his history.
What a nice sight, seeing Mark behind the wheel of the 6 car again. Wish my dad could have seen this
right after he put it into gear the first time you could tell Mark was immediately at home in that car like it was 1998 again.
3rd Gear motor sound pitch changed to JUST RIGHT ,, when he pulled 4th I was ,, I just wanted to see him let her EAT ,,just saying
.
I was like, go bump the pace car and send it!
Float them vavles a few laps
Mark was always my favorite driver. Dale is the reason I stopped following NASCAR. Dale was arrogant low life POS.
When I was little roush/ford was the bad guy too 😂 the Taurus was an easy car not to like 😂
@@Stapleton42 Same to me. I hated the round headlights. But now, just love it!
I was a MM (and all of the Ford other drivers) fan back then. And I despised Dale E. When he died, I knew NASCAR was done. I sure am a Dale fan now, for all he did to make NASCAR fun to watch. He sure is missed.
Mark was my favorite driver too. A great gentleman.
LOVE THIS! Mark Martin was always the pinnacle of class and humility! One of the best in EVERY respect.
Mark is right, you guys are knocking the lights out, great story, awesome to hang out with Mark again, thanks for taking us along! Cheers!!
Sounds so much better than the cars of today. I miss that sound so much on raceday!
Me too man
When Mark says that the gap between then and now disappears is so frickin cool man I Love you Guys!!!
Man I miss him racing. He was my favorite of all time racers
It was awesome to see Mark sitting there reliving the moment in the car. Hats off to Landon for pulling that off. Thanks guys for the video.
Damn ! He fired that thing up and brought back memories. Awesome job !
When he fires up the 6 it sounds so damn good!! Brings me back to my childhood sitting on the hill at Phoenix.
Mark was always my favourite driver, My hair stood up for like 75% or this video. Almost cried twice. The amount of memory’s that came from deep I didn’t remember I had. The nostalgia that came from this video is unreal. What a rush of emotions, thank you for this video.
Nice to see Mark again and the car too!!
Thank you Landon for such a beautiful restoration
i’ve got a shoebox full of early 90s crazy to go through them and see the guys so young
Mark Martin always raced with great intensity, and he still retains that same level to this day! A truly great driver in a fantastic era of NASCAR. What a great video, Mitchell and Logan!! SO informative and well done, as are they all!!! 👍👍🙏🙏
I was at the Brickyard in '98 and remember that paint scheme... Mark Martin is a class act!!!
Mark Martin is a story to be told to a lot of people. Im just hearing all of this and just like people his age, he has a lot to tell about in a good way.
