You and Logan are so true to Stock Car racing, very unassuming, very good interviewers, and have that "racer" mentality, id love to see what y'all could do in a video
Not sure if you guys ever figured out what the Valvoline ASA car was that Mark couldn't remember, but if not, from the best of my research, he ran that car in the 1993 Mello Yello 300K ASA race at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka, Kansas. From the picture you showed at 49:59, Scott Hansen is behind him and Johnny Benson is next to Scott and Mike Eddy is behind Johnny and they started 3rd, 4th & 6th in that race and Mark qualified on the pole. He led 24 laps but dropped out on lap 26 with engine issues. I will now be making a replica diecast of this car for my collection to go along with the 1994 version of that race that he ran that I have.
This is amazing. I have Mark Martin's autograph. I have a picture of my Dad with Bobby Allison at Daytona. I've also got Alan's autograph. I love the history you've put back together.
Outstanding video Mitchell. It was nice meeting everyone at the old shop. I knew when I pulled the trophies out of the dumpster, that someday, somebody would be looking for them? And now they are in the right place. I’m very pleased that Mark Martin is happy with it. It seemed to bring him a lot of joy and memories. Glad to be a part of it. Keep in touch, Rob.👍🏼
You CANNOT get a better testament of what you’re doing than the man himself Mark Martin! And as not only a fan but someone that has worked in pro racing for decades I have been one of your biggest cheerleaders from the beginning and will continue to encourage you both to keep doing what you are doing because it is SOOOO VALUABLE!!!
I have been watching you since the Yellowbelly days. It's amazing how you and Logan have turned out to be amazing, Nascar historians. I have been into Nascar since the 1960s. My first race was 1964 when I was 1. I know you and Logan put a tremendous amount of work into your videos 📹. I want you to know I greatly appreciate all that you two do.
Mark Martin is such a great guy. Always see him around helping other racers and giving all us golden age fans tons and tons of great stories. Thank you Mark for all the memories. Even though my favorite driver finished second to you several times. You were a wheelman…still are I bet! Edit- enjoyed once again Stapleton..
I'm also a Canadian. I haven't seen Jr. in years, but I know he still goes to some of the tracks and helps racers set up their cars. Mitchell and Logan are doing an amazing job for the recing archives. I haven't seen one person who that Mitchell and Logan has talked to who was rude and nasty. They are all amazing people as well. They must be proud that people haven't forgotten about them.
Wow, that really is a big ass trophy! I miss the old ASA Series. I remember watching a ton of ASA events back in the 1990s on TNN. They always put on a good show.
I remember the first time I seen mark drive at Rockford speedway he was 15 years old and didn’t have a license he was so small and it was funny to see him trying to see over the dash this kid back then just came out and set a track record nobody could believe it he just came from nowhere and the following year he won the arco championship you could tell right out of the box that he was special I’ll never forget it seeing him race it Milwaukee mark alway looked like he was floating on air coming out of the corners nobody ever was able to do that
So cool how you've gone from the blue badass burb to cleaning chesnuts outta your dads old suburban to buying and working on busses and now your meeting and looks to me like becoming friends with alot if these guys none of us would know about and your also the #1 nascar historian on youtube. I hope you two keep knocking on doors and these stories keep coming. Get the blue burb going again already! Also cool that the guys at the shop welcomed you in and showed ya around and giving the trophy back to mark is a cool smdeal also. He could have said hey give me some $$$ but he was like here let me repack it here i got cleaner. Cool guys. Another banger video
I just want to say I think what missing in today's nascar are heroes like Mark Martin! Larger than life! They were all my heroes! Still are! Thank again!
The thing I love the most about Mark is you get him talkong about a specific race or time and he just starts dropping the most random things about the cars themselves. Like that throttle cable.
I cannot believe the video is over. I was all settled in, listening to Mark and you going over the stuff, and the next thing I knew, the video was over. Thank you so much Mitchell for doing this one. Mark Martin was my guy the whole time he raced, and this video meant the world to me. Thanks.
The guys life is one of the greatest stories in motorsports. Maybe even bigger than that. The American dream accomplished by a socially awkward dude from a tragic background and broken home. All for it to be taken from him so quickly after he made it and have no surviving family to carry the legacy. All gone. I don’t think the story of Alan is talked about enough. I want to help more people discover the story and learn lessons from what he did…the good and the bad.

What a way to close a circle and give Mark such joy to get one of his ASA trophies back! Truely great work. Mark did a fantastic restoration to bring that trophy back to life. One heck of a fine-looking trophy.
Awesome video! Mark and Arlene are nice folks. Living in Daytona Beach most of my life, I met a lot of drivers. I lived pretty close to Mark in Port Orange and would run into him around town. Ran into him at Wal Mart (yes, Wal Mart) a few times and he was always pleasant and friendly. Glad to see him reunited with that trophy.
@Stapleton42 Mark and him are good friends. Bentleys book "Wicked Fast" is a great book he's one of a kind. He's not nascar but he's an open wheel legend. His Saloon, and his private car collection is something to see.
Amazing seeing Mark with the trophy, you guys are killing it with the history and seeing the smile on Marks face with the refurbished trophy, makes me smile too!

Awesome thank you I wish the people you have on your show would buy or get NASCAR back so we could have real racing again, I grew up with Gary balough, Dick Anderson and Butch mock keep up with what you and Logan are doing and does Mark Martin remember my sister from homestead speedway Janine Allen she spoke to him a few times or more
John Matuszak drinking in the tavern with Mark, the Fennig boys, and Gunderson is quite a mental picure! Mr. Matuszak played "Sloth" in the Goonies movie from the mid eighties because, you know, football and such. 😅 Great content you two!
Man i tell you guys all the time on every video that goes up that its the best thing ever. And what do you do? You top the previous one where i commented that every time! I must say that you and Logan have found a niche in the world of Motorsports showcasing the locations where the greats achieved there Status. What are the odds a guy buys a shop and pulls old smashed up trophies out of the dumpster. Then packs them up thinking someone will come looking for it. I mean you can't make that up. But it's just as stunning it was mark's. Because Alan has passed. It makes it going back to it's owner so much more Sweet
I drove past that shop going to work for 15 years from 1990 to 2005..The Franklin inn was always packed at quiting time...never went there because the parkinglot was always full.
Yea,,we`re gonna see mark martin on friday,,,,,Are Yinz serious?? How many of us get to say that ?? !!!!!!! Another classic vid Yinz did here,,,Great work !!!!!!
49:33 Judging by the 7 and 28 stickers on the C-post, I would say this car was from 1993. Mark's car from the LA Street race was co-sponsored with Valvoline and Hot Wheels in 1998. Both Mark and that car were seen on an episode of Baywatch.
The stories that today's "drivers" will tell in 40 years will be like "I stayed up all night playing video games" (at parents house) before the races ( referring to any of the top 3 series) There are a few stragglers that really "raced" and knew what a 1/2 wrench was, but...... Mark Martin is GOLD!!!! AWESOME vid!!!!
Mitchell and Logan thanks for being the "conduit" from the past to the present. You can tell by Marks expression and others in your videos just how much these videos mean to them and us. As a person who was there and following alot of these times you two continue to trigger memories. Hopefully you got a chance to talk Butch Miller and also Bentley Warren that was just sitting in the background in a lawn chair. Thanks for reminding us of great times
1st Mitchell finds all that stuff in the old darrell waltrip race hauler....now mark has his old asa trophy back. its just collossal awesome. Bet he'll reunite another racer with something lost from the past again somewhere in the future....maybe mark martin can help you set up your race car now mitchell. That would be awesome.

The videos your put together are incredible. Big fan of past NASCAR. Mark has always been my favorite and I love the videos you do with him. I saw him for the 1st time in Bristol I believe 2005, to this day I remeber what he said to me. Keep up the great work..
Thank you Kris!
Awesome thank you I wish the people you have on your show would buy or get NASCAR back so we could have real racing again, I grew up with Gary balough, Dick Anderson and Butch mock keep up with what you and Logan are doing and does Mark Martin remember my sister from homestead speedway Janine Allen she spoke to him a few times or more
Thanks man!
John Matuszak drinking in the tavern with Mark, the Fennig boys, and Gunderson is quite a mental picure! Mr. Matuszak played "Sloth" in the Goonies movie from the mid eighties because, you know, football and such. 😅
Great content you two!
Dude and Dudette, I really enjoy your videos. I learn so much and recall long ago memories
Glad you like them!
This is amazing. Thank you for sharing it!
Awesome! Great finding that trophy and help getting it back to Mark.
Man i tell you guys all the time on every video that goes up that its the best thing ever. And what do you do? You top the previous one where i commented that every time!
To see Mark so happy that you guys found that trophy and got it back to him, priceless!! All those pictures that you got from that owner that nobody else seems to have or even know about is pretty mind blowing also, and to think you guys just walked in cold and it all just fell into your hands the way it did is pretty amazing.
I don't know what kind of mojo you guys have but i think it is magic how the planets line up and things like this just come your way. So again, the best video every guys!! Cant wait to see how you top this one. 😃
Thank you for doing that you do. Mich, Logan, and you as well Mark, all of you be well.🙏
Thanks man we appreciate you!
Getting that vintage ASA race-winning trophy back to Mark Martin is such a cool thing, Mitchell. No wonder you have such a large following…
Working hard! Thanks man
Thought that building looked familiar! I drive by it everyday!
Another amazing snapshot behind the scenes of an American legend
Great job on finishing that trophy Mark! Looks like 1985 all over again
The Ryan Road shop. I remember Fennig's father's gas station. I was a mechanic for Jim Jeffords in the late 70's.
Mark Martin said it best "You are gold" . Great video, great content, great editing. Thanks
Thank you Benny!
Another Amazing video! Thank You soo much for making these and preserving this history for all to see!
Thanks man!!
Amazing. Your talking to mark martin.
That man is so down to earth. What a great person.
And I heard he is brutal when racing.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this great episode!
My Dad was there back in the day. He was a pit crewman and he is one of the gents pictured in the championship photo. Tim Kelly bottom row second from the left. Your video brought a big smile to his face and ALOT of great stories to mind.
I must say that you and Logan have found a niche in the world of Motorsports showcasing the locations where the greats achieved there Status. AND drawing the curtain back allowing the public a glimpse into the window of everyone we participated in Careers of our legends from the viewpoint men who are regular Joe's back then just trying to put food on the table roof over there heads and a couple dollars in there pockets hoping that at years end they would not be in the Red so they could be able to continue the next year,or next couple months or next couple races Well done you guys and just know in the future you'll will be the Rockstars for preserving first hand accounts before the legends are only in our memories
Thank you Brandon!
So great. Sure mark can buy anything. That’s priceless.
Good find. And hell ya to saving that from the dumpster.
Awesome. Amazing you two come across this kind of History, Priceless !! If you guys need other ideas, I live in chardon, ohio real close to Hutter race engines. He built all of Dale Jrs motors for the Busch series. Five time National engine builder. Ron Hutter is his name.
Just came to say I’ve been here since the Escalade days, watched you progress into the Newell, move from the old shop to where you are now. Been fun watching you guys grow and see how much of an impact you’ve been having. Keep it up guys 🤝 cheers to some genuine people not out here just to make money selling t shirts and merch for some overplayed “action packed” racing content
Well said sir. I appreciate that. It’s true too we sold a TON more t shirts back then than we do now
Once again thank you two very much for all you do. That speaker could have been for an intercom put in by the phone company ties to the phone they had. Back then AT&T was the huge phone company for the country and their logo was a Bell and local regional companies were called baby bells. They put Bell System or Western Electric on everything because back then they owned all the phones etc and they came and put in you house your house or business.
Interesting!
@@Stapleton42 Bell was the logo as in Alexander Graham Bell the inventor of the telephone which should help make some since out of a small part of the video
What a great find!! You guys are the absolute best. Can't wait to see your car out doing laps at testing!!
So awesome Mitchell, gotta love the photos of that trophy after Mark got it restored, that is so cool it was saved from the dumpster
I bet Mark is going to be so happy that you made that connection with the trophy and the pictures! Very cool!
Ok.I commented to soon I'm still watching and Mark is very happy lol! You guys are awesome!
Thank you Dale 💪🏻
Another great video guys thanks
It turned out great! Great job on the resto Mark!!!
Just as always you have really shown nascar just what it has meant to it’s drivers much less the fans… so much a great gift to all of us and not just Mark
awesome stuff again, pretty cool to reconnect those trophies and tell the stories of history... love learning about stuff i know nothing i know about..
Thanks man we do too!
I agree completely. Makes you wonder if a guy is pulling strings from the great unknown 🤔
I drove past that shop going to work for 15 years from 1990 to 2005..The Franklin inn was always packed at quiting time...never went there because the parkinglot was always full.
Always look forward to your videos, another great job
Thanks again!
If I could like this video more than once, I would. You deserve a lot of credit for the work you guys are doing.
thank you very much we are glad youre here!
Cool video Mitch! My Dad is a big Mark Martin fan…will definitely share this video with him. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
I’m so glad you two have become a guardian of the sport
Thank you Matt
Yea,,we`re gonna see mark martin on friday,,,,,Are Yinz serious?? How many of us get to say that ?? !!!!!!! Yinz are livin the dream in the nascar world of old!!! i got to meet Mark a couple of times when i worked for ford dealerships,,he was my idol!!! the hardest workin guy on pit road along with alan ,,,i still watch the vids of His dominance at watkins glen vids,,i was there everytime!!!
Another classic vid Yinz did here,,,Great work !!!!!!
It was a lot of traveling that week for sure 😂 thanks man
49:33 Judging by the 7 and 28 stickers on the C-post, I would say this car was from 1993. Mark's car from the LA Street race was co-sponsored with Valvoline and Hot Wheels in 1998. Both Mark and that car were seen on an episode of Baywatch.
Interesting!
The Stories and Skills of Jeffery Fennig was Great, Always a Mark Martin Fan,
This is so awesome for Mark , you two have been remarkable with all your videos I really enjoy them
Thanks so much!
The stories that today's "drivers" will tell in 40 years will be like "I stayed up all night playing video games"
(at parents house) before the races ( referring to any of the top 3 series)
There are a few stragglers that really "raced" and knew what a 1/2 wrench was, but......
Mark Martin is GOLD!!!!
AWESOME vid!!!!
I agree. Most of them are bags of milk with no life experience
Mark is the king!
Fascinating stuff, thanks again for everything you do.
Glad you’re here for it!
This is awesome… I really enjoy seeing this type of content! . Keep up the great work 🏁🏁
Mitchell and Logan thanks for being the "conduit" from the past to the present.
Thanks David! We’d love to do more ASA stuff
Biggest smile with that trophy too!
All those great names coming back, thanks for the stellar content.
Another great video Mitchell. I loved that era ASA racing. Your videos like this really fill in so much of the behind the racing stories. Just love the info. So awesome you were able to get Mark that old trophy.
