- Dylan and Robert go to the salvage yard to pick up some parts for their John Deere 9400 combine. While there, Dylan finds some unexpected treasures and tells the differences between some John Deere combines over the years.
Always liked the sikeston junkyards. Enjoyed the video fellas. Stay safe
They''re full of treasures.
I love the. Junk yards it's a museum of history
Been over that bridge a few times, on the way to Texas.
Used a CTS for years cutting rice down here in south Louisiana. 96 model CTS, real good machine
Salvage yards are dangerous places to be, I could never go in one and come out with just the parts I went for. Always found something else. Y’all take care and stay safe 🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
great video guys keep up the good work
Thanks very much.
Man yeah, that was heaven for sure!! I pass by a Worthington every time we go to the coast, Goldsboro. I need to stop in there!! That was an awesome trip!! You know me and the silly questions, that a 48"air nozzle? I wanted one ended up going 24" cause I couldn't find a good place on the service truck 🤦 Hope corn shelling is going well, cant wait to see and hear how the repairs and new parts are doing!! Thank you both for bringing us along!! 😁😁👍👍🌽🌽🇺🇸🇺🇸🌱🌱🚜🚜
Yes sir I believe it is a 48" it's still not long enough for my liking 🤣 I want to he as far away from the dust as I can be when blowing that stuff off.
@@DylanJoyceFarms 🤣🤣😁😁👍👍👍
The CTS machines were great combines. The major problem they had was never enough horsepower. That 9660 STS looked like a nice machine. It would be a great addition to the farm for sure.
I heard a few issues were trying to shell corn with them. I read that you had to put a kit in it to keep the material in the rotors longer.
I wondered if you guys might go back across the rivers south of Cairo into Kentucky then back south. We're out here in southeast Kansas, already done with corn harvest and now getting wheat ground ready. It's been dry here for two years now, not alot of great corn raised, hoping the soybeans might be ok here. Hope you guys have a good harvest, enjoy watching the channel.
We will probably start soybeans at the end of this week, depending on the weather.
I was just at worthington Friday getting a top seive hate that I missed y’all!
My gleaner m2 has a spike tooth cylinder in it. It does fine in corn but beans and wheat you can run more through the cylinder then it will separate.
I here you but new holland was spinning rotors in the 70s 😅 they still make a pretty good combine we had yellow and the neighbors had green the only difference that was really noticeable was straw and speed. The green one makes the straw and the yellow one would run a little faster
Most of our corn in the center of Missouri made 1/2 or less the bean are going to do OK here but no bumper crop.
That sounds like us last year. We went 72 days without rain. Our corn made less than half of what it usually yields.
Salvage yards always seem to have stuff with an interesting story.
I bet some of them have some good stories.
At 09:34 - An old IH mechanic told me that CTS stood for can't-thresh-sh!t........🤣🤣
Nice video
We’ve had a tough go at it this year. No rain in may June or July
We went all of June without rain but were fortunate to start getting some good, timely rains in July and August. We had a terrible drought here last year, so I can feel your pain.
Ya gotta love ya ole dumb and dumber dogs! We do ours!
Y'all oughta get those tires. They looked nice. Take the wheels off too. Never hurts to have backups of things like that.
You're right!
My uncle had a 4400 John Deere with Spike tooth in it and it was a mean combined on green stuff in soybean he run it for 20 year before going to a 9400
We started out with a regular rasp bar 4400. It was a slow go with a 13-foot header. I bet he felt like he made a massive jump to a 9400.
I've heard the big combine salvage in Clinton MO has gone down to DeWitt and bought a lot of 2388 and jd combines that there was absolutely nothing wrong with . And parted them out
I asked about that in the store. They said they were buying cheap combines at Dewitt's sale and parting them out.
@@DylanJoyceFarms I've been to there big blowout combine sale . It's a definite must go to . I bought 2 heads and absolutely stole them pennies on the dollar . I should have bought a combine for a parts rig
You drove past the farm I worked on for 15 years that was dogwood you drove through and I bet you went to Sandy ridge to eat dinner wish I had known I would have liked to meet you and Robert
That's exactly where we went for lunch. It was great. If we have time next time we go, I will holler at you.
@@DylanJoyceFarms sounds great
Did you ever find out what was wrong with that 9660STS ?
It is a running machine. They picked it up at DeWitt auction cheap and will double their money on it parting it out.
Grab me 2 of those shoe auger gears please
That’s what ya call combine and tractor heaven lol 😆
When I was a kid I called it the tractor cemetery.
@@DylanJoyceFarms oh ok, looks like lots of good used parts.
I went over that bride just a couple months ago … i did not know that was Cgb
What's the name of that place? I need a monitor for my 6600
Worthington Ag Parts, Sikeston Missouro
@@DylanJoyceFarmsThanks 👍
Salvage yard can be depressing. They have nicer equipment that you are currently running.
CTS stood for can’t thrash shit
You don’t want that 9660 lol. It’s a pile of junk lol.
