I had a layover of 22+ hours in Istanbul. It was crazy but I had access to free meals and NapZones.
My connecting flight to Mexico was for 14 hours so stay tuned and turn on your post notification so you don't miss my next upload.

I'm telling you 🥺. I wouldn't have known at all.
I am taking a lot of trips to France this year for language immersion...started hitting the pocketbooks 😅😅 so the last flight is 36 hrs thru Turkey 😂 thanks for the tips.
I plan on doing lounges, maybe go and see the countryside a bit....but probably end up sleeping in a lounge.

I recommend going to see the city if you can but be time conscious.

You see that fear of the trolley passing me by while I'm asleep, is the reason I didn't sleep my entire flight to Japan 😂😂😂. I must eat all the food! I paid for it!

@@Stephnnivlogs during my fisrt travel to Dubai. I don't know what I was eating but I Sha ate everything because I paid for it. As soon as I landed I took there earpiece and blankets as bonus..

Me I didn't take blanket and earpiece because the earpiece was sorta connected to the seat and the blanket was so flimsy, I just left it for them 😂

How to find a nap area ?
Hi. We have a 13-hr layover there. Not sure what to do since I am coming with an elderly. I am unsure if it's ok to go to the Napzone, Sleeping pod, or do the YotelAir. Isn't there a shower area somewhere at the airport where you could pay & use? I'm unsure how expensive the hotel room is inside the airport. We do want some peace and quiet when resting. Should I bring cushion or like a slim, sleeping bag that I could on the Napzone? I also have to figure out the time there so we don't miss the connecting flight.
Hello. The Napzones are pretty quiet and they've got ports for charging but I'm not sure it'd be comfortable for an elderly person. You could pay for the pods however, the rates are hourly. I think you could check for the rates of YotelAir and the pods on Turkish Airlines' website.
The Napzones have these long benches for sleeping, you could bring a neck pillow along with you for comfort and I'd only recommend a sleeping bag if it'd be easy to move around with you.
There's a shower area for I think €15 (I'm not sure) but I can't remember exactly where it is. You could ask at the Information Desk.
For the time, all connecting flights are displayed on screens about 1-3 hours (I think) before boarding. The screens are everywhere and you won't be far from one regardless of where you decide to stay in the airport.
Also, you could always confirm anything you're not sure of at the Information Desk or Transfers Section.

Hey. Replying to you just thinking that you are traveling with an elderly. TK provides free shuttle and good hotel all free for long layover if there is availability with them! Just ask at the information desk, they will help you.
@@bib5159 apparently they only provide the hotel when there's no shorter layover option on that route but they also provide a free tour as an alternative for anyone with a long layover, both options would require a transit visa.
I have 21 hours coming up and already dreading them. The vis aprocess and expense didnt feel like it was worth it for a transit trip so am going to have to do those 21 hours at the airport. Thanks for the insight. Might you know the cost for extra wifi?
Hi! The airport is beautiful so you can take a walk around when you get bored. I can't remember the exact amount to pay for WiFi but i think it should be around £4-7.

As per my knowledge, Turkish Airlines provides a hotel for that much of layover. How come you did not avail that?
They do if you have a visa that allows entry into Turkey.

There's no need to pay for anything really... Take a tour if you can, eat and then sleep. It'll be time for your connecting flight before you know it.

There's free WiFi for 1 hour and then you can pay for more hours if you want.

Hey, I don't know if you night see this but ill be spending a 10 hour transit at the Istanbul airport. And honestly,this helped calm my nerves a lot 😭I was sk anxious.
Anyway, I have a fee questions.
1:Where did you jeep your box when you had a shower.
Because I'm carrying a really big box and carrying it around seems ridiculous but my larents said it's necessary.
2:What about wifi? Because I know the Nigerian simcards maynit work there.

you shld roam your sim before traveling so you can use data both at ur layover and final destination (I use MTN so I recommend you get the Hybrid data roaming offer)
Hi Shammah..what a experience to hv a lay over for 22 hrs,there are a few questions I would like to know if you can answered as by next week I'll be flying for the 1st time with Turkish Airlines & having a lay over for 8hrs.
1.Why don't you take 'The free tour or staying at the hotel if the airlines provided for all the layover passenger especially with extra time like yours or do you need to have the visa arrangements earlier to enter Turkey ?
2.For the free meals voucher where I can find the place to collect the voucher & for the meal options can we choose by ourselves,like prefer Popeye instead of Burger king ?
3.As for the Rest Sleep/Nap Zone area,where is it the location & is it free or chargeable to used for a few hours while waiting for the next flight ?

Hello. To answer your questions, first, you need to have a visa that allows entry into Turkey, a passport that qualifies for a visa on arrival or free entry to be able to leave the airport, take a tour of the city or get the free hotel offer.
You can get meal tickets at the information desk/care point. It's pretty easy to locate. If you get lost, you could always questions. You get a meal ticket every 5 hours and you get to pick which restaurant to use the ticket( There are set restaurants stated on the ticket- Popeye and burger king included). So, if you prefer Popeye's, you could go there repeatedly and no one would bat an eye.
Please note that airline regulations change and there could be slight changes to these offers so don't hold me to my word🙂.
Nap zones are located all around the airport. You'll definitely find one wherever you find yourself in the airport. Nap zones are free and you can stay for the entire duration of your layover if you want.
Remember, you can always ask for directions if you get confused or lost.
To get a free hotel offer and meal tickets, you need to have a layover not less than 12 hours. Please take note of this if you have a layover with less hours.
