    all I know is to me it's regardless if Bird is best ever at their position or best all time in general. I look at it this way, If I were a coach starting a team and I can pick any current or former nba player I want, my first pick is a Larry Bird. I just wouldn't let him concrete his own driveway.

      What a shame it was. And he still played with chronic back spasms. The legend was tougher than a two dollar steak.

      Why is that hilarious?
      Because Orlando Woolridge was a just above slightly better than average player in the ‘80’s with great athletic ability....
      Exactly what Lebron would be had he played then.
      Matter of fact, LeBron would probably get ejected from every game, because he would argue with the refs so much for not calling fouls that were not fouls back then. For hand-checking and slowing him down, which was essentially legal back then. For defenders being within 5ft of him when he had the ball, which wasn’t illegal back then.
      Queen James would be a glorified Horace Grant.

    larry bird also played with 4 hall of famers...

    • @MrJonavo
      @MrJonavo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Funny how that happens when a team stays together instead of jumping from team to team in search of hall of famers like the queen. Bird made DJ and the Chief hall of famers.

    • @raferalstonisgoat4457
      @raferalstonisgoat4457 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrJonavo I aint gonna argue lebron over bird cause I myself believe that bird is a more skilled and complete player overall with a more impressive resume but you got to take into account the hall of fame talent he was playing with. Parish was a great player even before celtics. Bird had a great coach, a great system, bill walton, tiny archibald, kevin mchale, cedric maxwell, and his first finals win he didnt even win finals mvp... Great video but birds rebounds and points were inflated cause the pace in the 80s was far faster and there were far more possessions per game.

    • @rambojohnj.6117
      @rambojohnj.6117 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There’s no “AND DJ LAYS IT UP AND IN” without “AAAAAAAAAAAAND NOW THERE’S A STEEEAL BY BIIIIIIIRD”.
      I respect your opinion, because you seemingly know the game very well.
      But give me a fucking break, bro.
      Bird had an injured Bill Walton on the tail end of his career
      As a DIEHARD Celtics fan, I can admit that Robert Parrish was FAR from great, there are TONS of centers in the 80’s and 90’s alone that are FAR superior. Bird MADE the Chief, AND DJ for that matter, into hall of famers.
      And his points and rebounds were no more inflated than the 3PSI “that made” Tom Brady win the AFC and then the Superbowl. I mean, without those PSI, they “don’t” beat Indy 45-7!
      Not only did they actually play defense back then, but handchecking was legal, and they got away with murder.
      You know how many clips on youtube alone of Larry hitting shots with defenders, even the great James Worthy in many, holding handfuls of his jersey that should have been fouls and would have been fouls now? Nowadays, guys draw a foul by coming within 5 feet of an offensive player. Imagine Larry going to the line 20 times a game like James Harden, you think his stats were inflated then??
      In today’s just-hawk-it-up-3-pt-contest NBA, between 3’s and the line, he would average 50pts/game!!!
      And, as you already mentioned, he was contending for rebounds with not just one, but TWO taller hall of famers in McHale and Chief, and he STILL averaged over 10/reb per game for his career!
      LeBron went to not just one, but TWO different teams with TWO All-Stars each to win.
      Kings come and go.
      Legends never die.

      Bird didnt have them 4 hall of famers his rookie season! He was celtics leading scorer and took them from a 29 win season to a 62 win season. He also didnt have hall of famers at Indiana State which he took them to 33-0
