P30 platform is also my favorite. There’s just nothing else like it. Only mod I make is the HK lighter firing pin block spring, which removes most of the stacking in double action. The pistol is truly bomb proof. The P30 and G17 are the two pistols that ruined pistols for me….nothing else comes close in terms of quality and performance. I remember when P30 was only imported and cost like $1k. Now they’re under $700 which is actually a great value compared to the competition.
which FPB spring do you use? Is this available at like HKP? I got a polished aftermarket sear spring going to put that in but I have to remove the whole fire control group to do it, might do that when I get the Grey Guns short reset kit.
@@DIYDad1 the grey guns mods are wonderful but i haven't found them necessary for my purposes. the light FPBS is HK park # 209296. pretty easy to replace with roll pin punch.
Fantastic video as always friend, I carried the SK for a long while before I got my P2k which is ever so slightly larger than the SK and a bit smaller than the standard P30 just a shorter grip. I still think the SK variant can be one of the most versatile since you can slap a 20 round mag in there, or one of the mags with the grip extensions on it and you basically have a stubby full size. I'm considering getting my slide milled for a red dot now, it could easily become a 50 yard gun no problem with the right setup. Short reset kit from Grey Guns and it will just be perfection.
I recently purchased a P2000sk in 40s&w(first HK). Im very impressed with it because the quality just stands out than any other pistol I have owned. After watching this video I’m now very interested in a P30sk. I like subcompact pistols. Great video thank you!!
I bought the LTT P30 with the LEM trigger. I plan on getting all P30 versions from LTT with the LEM triggers. Haven't had a chance to shoot the LTT P30 yet, but the rental P30 at the range I absolutely love!
The LTT trigger work (gray guns srt kit) is great. But I really don't like the slide finish per their optic cut...LTT uses a glossy clear cerakote instead of nitride like Wright Armory would do. Def gonna have Wright Armory do slide work going forward
I've found the P30 with threaded barrel and compensator is the sweet spot for me, makes it roughly the same length as a P30L but now a very soft shooter. I also have a Gray Guns flat trigger/short reset. I keep thinking I'm done modding it but now I'm considering adding a red dot for it lol.
Large, Huge or Massive. Even the P30SK is a very large gun, especially with it only holding 10rds. I have trouble believing they couldn't fit at least 12 in there. The P320SC holds 12rds and it's nearly identical in size (just a little thinner by about 1/16"). I think they could have easily fit 13 in either of them though. Both are almost as tall as a Glock 19.
Thanx for the video. Always was intersted in the P30, great gun with great ergonimics. I own a USP in 9mm. The only thing thats dissapointing in my opinion is that HK did not implement the double-captive-spring system of the USP in the P30 series - instead they opted for a plastic buffer in addition to one spring. Is it in your opinion as flat shooting as a USP?
My USP is a 45acp so little hard to tell vs the my P30’s in 9mm. They feel very similar - which means the USP is probably smoother since it’s a bigger caliber. Love USP recoil system and would also like to see in more models!

I really enjoy my P30SK V3, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I got mine used, in like new condition. So clearly this gun came from someone who traded it in for its terrible trigger…meanwhile this trigger is my favorite out of all my DA/SA pistols.
In my opinion the SK models are too bulky and the grips are too long on the mid sized "compact model for it to be called compact. HK should have made a compact model with the size being in between the aforementioned handguns.
@@josephlegacy929 My favorite HK pistol is the HK P7M8. I still have one. I always wanted HK to bring them along with the M13 version back into production like Colt did with their Colt Python. However it doesn't appear likely to happen.

I really like the P30SK v. 3 ...hopefully soon... with the LTT touch. Also...HK needs (imo) to bring the .40 to this model.

HK has never done colored/filled in lettering for the P30 series, I believe that the previous owner has done that

Agreed, but hk did in fact make at least two models that fit that size description.
Usp compact and the p2000, the p2k is my favorite

No. The recoil spring assemblies are different lengths, so no bueno...
