Pronunciation guide with score animation and translation (part B), by french vocal coach. Soprano opera aria. TIME:CODES below! Other videos / @frenchlyric2767
How to pronounce french to sing opera arias and sound french? Enjoy this practical and easy tutorial : lyrics clearly spoken by a native singer and vocal coach. In 2 parts (levels A and B) for beginners or students, for international competition or role preparation.
06:42 B level = clearly spoken text - with pictures and english translation.
A level : in the first part, step by step, I have made the choice of a quite sustained voice : a little moving in the frequencies, but freely, not the same way as in the aria. You can make it your own way, of course.
B level : In the second part, I have simply “spoken” the text. When you know the text by heart this way, you don’t need the first part anymore ! The images are intended to help imagination and memorization. (With english translation)
For the french [r] : you can flip it (just one flip, don’t make a heavy roll), especially for classical singing. I suggest this choice because it’s historically correct, more understandable, and because it’s easier. Here I used the french spoken [r], so you can hear what it sounds like from a native.

The most beautiful language in the world
☺️
There’s a mistake on that particular score (not in my diction) : it schould be protÉger and not protèger before a mute [ə] (Larousse : je protège, nous protégeons).
Accute accent é = IPA [e]
Listen to the open è [ε] & to the closed é [e] : “Mais j’ai”= [mε ʒe]
And listen to that special french [ə] : “Je”. It’s quite close to the open [œ] “peur” when sung. Of course it can be closed, like an [ø] when spoken, like “deux”, but preferably not in an opera which requires formal language. In fact it’s between [ø] and [œ] : if one must choose, definitely prefer the latter !
Muchas gracias! Era la ayuda que estaba buscando! Te deseo lo mejor ❤🎉

MICAELA
Então, recorre a proteção
Do Senhor para se livrar desse mal
Em silenciosa evocação do seu coração.
A proteção sempre existe a todo ser
Que quer sair de um ambiente infernal,
Buscando na projeção de luz se proteger. (*)

@@frenchlyric2767 Thanks you are an angel!!!!

@@florenceschiffer D'accord, merci! Alors [ə] avec rondement.
