Gotta say, that was a great vid, good angles, great info and well edited. I'm starting out on a cb550 4 and need to replace my cam chain tensioner and bolts so my education starts here on TH-cam-subscribed! :)
thank you for this great video. I just got a non running b75 cb360t. I'm not sure if tensioner failure was the culprit. is there a way to tell if this work has already been done? if the chain tensioner failed, what should I look for?
If the work was done, there will be a punch hole by the VIN number. Symptom of the issue is a loose sounding chain while running, that can't be resolved by tightening the chain tensioner.
Brendan , Loved the video on cam chain tensioner . Could you tell me if you can loosen up on the tension to make it easier to install the guides. I have a 1976 cb 360t and the cam chain tensioner isn' removable.
Per the CB360 Cam Tensioner Update/Supplement to the Honda Service Manual, the top of the cam chain tensioner should rest just below the upper surface of the cylinder head, where in this video, it appears to pop out 8-15mm above the surface of the head with some "springiness" to it. Is the lowering of the cam chain tensioner by use of a push bar tool not shown in this video?
Guys I need a big help. For the ones that knows the Honda CB400N Superdream: do I have to put the engine down to replace the cam chain tensioner? Is there a way to remove it by only removing the head cover and not to split in two the lower engine? Thanks
Dear Brendan I live un Mexico city is it posible to get the set, how much does it cost being sent to Mexico? I need at least an used set mine are broken. Thank you in advance

Should never have gone into production like this.So weak R and D.Apart from disc brake and maybe 6 speed box,cb350 was far superior.Standard shockers were crap also.Worked on lots of both models back in the day.Sometimes rockers were pitted at 10k.
Ordering these parts soon, thanks for taking the time to make this video! Best one ive found yet.

Great question. I have a CL360 I'm wondering if this needs to be done also. Did you ever get a response?

A lot of people confuse cam covers with valve covers ;)
Do y’all have a video on replacing the Tensioner arm?

Brendan, any tips on removing the cam chain without having to split the case?
You could cut the chain but that's about it. The new one would need to be cut and then re riveted together. I wouldn't recommend it though.
How am I supposed to remove the cam and not disturb the timing. I have to replace the head gasket and I don't want to mess up the timing.
Thanks again!!!!
Great video!
Sir please make video honda cb 175 supersport.enginr rebuild.

Jose F. Barrera Yes Jose we ship to Mexico. You can buy the part directly off the website:
www.common-motor.com/honda-360-cam-chain-tensioner
I went to replace mine and it was snapped in half I wonder if i have to worry about engine damage?
I'd swap it outbutton the engine up and see if it runs. Watch our other two videos on tensioner recall explained and the center cam bearing journal.
Thanks Brendan, great video. Looking forward to the next one!!
Excellent thanks.
Can someone please tell me the production number of CB and CJ 360T's in 1976. ??? I looked everywhere except Japan
