I took your advice and got the trophy before they did the item overhaul money reset. It took me 17 hours over 2 days and i finally got the gold after being absolutely bullied by a phantom for 45 minutes. I got a headache from the adrenaline when i was crawling out the door. I was a true *gamer* that day and im super proud of myself.

I hear these stories of people taking forever to beat this challenge and it makes me feel a little guilty sometimes. I beat the challenge on my second try because I got an incredibly lucky thaye with two objectives relating to smudge, and one objective to getting the ghost photo. Lured the thing into the chapel, did one smudge, took my picture, hid behind the piano and got tf out. I did get super lucky on the smudge cuz it was so scary how fuckin fast that guy was, I had to have insane reaction time but that was literally it.

Had to go work before I could watch the whole thing, but I'm wondering if the Yokai at 26:00+ couldn't find him because the pathing required it to keep leaving detection range?

i had a banshee on gold apocalypse mode that did not roam to me AT ALL and i sat in the map for like 15 minutes with the paramic because i was scared. safe to say i was incredibly confused when it said the ghost was banshee after i died 😂😂 ALSO no banshee scream after like 7 whispers or something crazy
I guess it might be just because you weren't close enough, back then path finding was not really accurate too. They probably didn't want a banshee to leave its ghost room too often in big maps because of its ability.

I wish I knew that event frequency thing when I was working on my trophy. I had a deo at one point, had EVERYTHING but the ghost event objective, spent 3 damn hours in the map looping that deo around the chapel waiting for an event and finally had to give up because it was so late at night 😭 The whole time the ghost room was right next door. was a horribly unlucky run, so that change could have been game changing lol.
I would've rage quit after an hour lol. Respect for the dedication 😂
@@n.c.pictures😂 lol I had been trying for WEEKS and had keep dying before I could get everything I needed, I was struggling with this one lmao. So when I finally got that close I was trying to finally just finish it off 😂. I finally did I think a few days later with another deo of all things lol. Refused to go to sunny meadows for the longest though lol.
You can loop the deo going that slow?
@@ItsTheByrdit’s the only one I can loop going that slow lol. When it slows down to a crawl it’s still slower than you. So as long as you don’t get stuck between a dead end and the deo you can just walk away from it till the hunt ends. I think I’ve seen others loop around the one hospital bed with faster ghosts but I’m not nearly that confident lol.
I know the feeling. It seems that (And I can't verify this, so don't quote me) because the side doors lock, if the ghost's room is behind them (even though they are just a room or two over from the chapel), it treats them like "different houses," so you aren't likely to get an event unless you are past that door, which in those corridors is basically suicide.
I had a poltergeist right on the other side of the wall, and I too was hiding in the church. It would immediately run through the church every hunt, and I could very clearly hear it interacting with things in that room from my position, but no event.
It wasn't until I decided to risk throwing it all away to wander through that door with a crucifix in hand that it finally gave me an event, but not before it immediately burned the crucifix in my hand. I got the event, it used its ability to confirm my suspicion that it was in fact a poltergeist, did a second event, and so I was set. I did, however, decide to wait until it burned my crucifix a second time before trying to make a break for it, so it wouldn't slam that side door in my face and rush at me.
I was able to get to the lobby before it started another hunt, so I had to wait that out, but I was ultimately able to get out and finish.
The autocam idea around 46:37 is a great one. It would make different tier tripods useful. Make it linked to only tier 3 items, like Tier 3 Tripod + Tier 3 Camera + Tier 3 Motion sensor placed together within a certain small radius.
Speed cams. Take their license plates and write them speeding citations. :)

I still haven’t gotten any of the apocalypse challenges done yet and I don’t know why. We were even given gold apocalypse as a weekly challenge, giving me even less of an excuse to not try it. With the new ID card, I think next apocalypse challenge as a weekly challenge I’ll try to get it done!

@@UnfriendlyFire we were not given golden apocalypse as a weekly, we had a much more easier version of it.
Real apocalypse is much more harder than that. And in my opinion no other difficulty can get you ready / you can practice on to be ready for gold apocalypse.
You have to get a lot of money and try to get this repeatedly and pray to phasmo gods that you get lucky, like getting easier ghosts in earlier tries and getting easy objectives.
Went to attempt this myself before this new update came out since I finally got my hands on the night vision goggles. Wanted to beat it before those goggles got nerfed after you mention they were going to touch up on it long while ago haha. After many attempts, I got my gold trophy! My ghost was a Thaye which was super scary because I used up all my smudges in my playthrough and I was lucky enough to get a ghost event for the photo! Felt so accomplished. Seeing that you are now able to hold a lighter in its own slot would've made things so much easier but hey, I did it and I am happy.
About some of the rants (from this video and others) about taking mechanics or bugs away; I really agree with you. I get that game devs don't like bugs and that they want to improve the game. But they often forget that the game is supposed to be fun. I think Mojang does this decently well since they often don't patch bugs when the community values it. And when they do patch it they try to compensate for it with an intended and better balanced feature. They also trust the community to play how they want. They're not perfect and there are probably plenty of examples where they did the opposite, but overall they handle it really well. I think the Phasmophobia devs (as well as many other developers) get so hung up with balancing the game and forcing people to play the game the way it was intended, that they forget that people fell in love with the game how it was.
Mojang haven't done that in years. Stop prasing companies for their past, their legacy is not permanent.
Insym kept forgetting that he had a lighter that would've made traversing the dark in a hunt a lot easier

to everyone in the chat who were trying to convince insym that the last ghost was a thaye: that speed is thaye at ITS NORMAL 100% SPEED, 150% APOCALYPSE THAYE HAS MACHINE GUN FOOTSTEPS! you literally instantly know that its a thaye then.
My best tactic for getting a ghost event isn't being in the ghost room with a cruci, since both charges will get used pretty fast...
I like to be in the room to the left or right of the ghost room (with crucifix) because it'll jump to you to ghost event. And even if it ghost events and hunts right after your crucifix covers you!

Each time the updates get released for Phasmo the apocalypse challenges get significantly difficult as well however not this time round with the additional lighter slot. Goodluck players! Thank you Insym 😀

Thank you so much Insym for this. I never play Phasmo alone but I really want these trophies and achievements. Watching your guides helps to learn so I can be better prepared when I finally go for it. Can't wait to do it now and put my attempts on my channel lol.
If u get the deogen its basically a free win, cuz u can still outrun it.

Actually, you can't "outrun" a deo on this difficulty. You will move at the exact same speed as the deo, so you can still kite it, but its hard.

Holy shit, I didn't realize you had to do it solo so I had never bothered cause I thought of doing it with friends, then I heard you mention it had to be singleplayer at the beginning of the video and then remembered I just prestiged so I said o well lets try it a couple times. First try had emf crucifix and motion sensor so I reset and got ghost photo/paramic/emf and just said w.e lets just try.
I went in and it did a ghost event and I couldn't find it because I had no lights at all and just in pitch black. took a couple slow ass photos but didn't get lucky.
It burned my crucifix so I got emf off of that and tried smudging but it failed and it started hunting from somewhere else so I just sat in the corner at the front door but I was like where did it hunt from so it got me thinking maybe wraith or banshee because of that first event and crucifix burn.
I lived that first hunt so I grabbed a paramic and set up a motion sensor and salt in the little doorway and my second crucifix.
Got the paramic sound and then it walked through the salt and I tried smudging it but right after it starting hunting from far again, it had hit the salt so I was like this has to be a banshee or mimic unless the twins were like perfectly trolling me.
Banshee was most likely so I sat in the corner again, it came through the motion sensor and it burned my crucifix and I smudged again missing the ghost as it hunted from far again.
So with my last smudge I was still sitting in that corner, I moved away from the motion sensor to make sure it didn't teleport back to its room or w.e it was doing after what I was assuming as a banshee stalk, this time I was pretty sure I got it as shortly after it did a ghost event and I just starting spinning in circles taking as many pictures as I could and I managed to get a photo.
I left and it was a banshee and I completed bronze silver and gold on my first try going into the building, second load of the level as first obj seemed hard, apoc challenge completed and I would have probably never even tried if you never mentioned the single player requirement on this video.
I am here shaking still while writing this, There was a bit of me that wanted to not even try with t1 items, but holy shit am I glad I did.

I know how you feel about the camera toggle delay. My solution was to reverse and smudge first. Led it into a couple piles of black salt, tossed the smudge, snapped the pic as it hit the smudge, tossed the cam and backed up. I still complained about it in their discord. "As if trying to get a picture of a cracked out ghost on apocalypse wasn't already difficult enough."
They told me to mention it when they opened up the feedback page. Please, please mention it.

58:50 - My most deaths is Moroi, so yes I agree, Moroi is very dangerous even when it had the 12 seconds smudge effect in old version. Apocalypse weekly I remember me and teammates knew it was very fast ghost, Moroi or Thaye or Hantu, I said I will sacrifice myself to figure out which one of them, and I used the smudge and smudged at the ghost and it took 12 secs before it refind me again and I died, but teammates survived and went with Moroi and it was Moroi, 12 secs was just a tool for Moroi, just like Wraith with salt, Wraith and salt is more OP than Moroi and smudge, cus it's an absolute dead giveaway that it's a Wraith. I disagree with the Moroi change, as well.
*In new update some time some objective is completed because of bug. I just known by nightmare runs and just recorded then reported . I got capture ghost photo objective and got 4 ghost event and took all ghost photo but it's not counted. 😢 scansym
Just putting this out there for anyone that happens to see this while going for the challenge. You can get photos during hunts quite easily if you bring tier three smudges as long as you stay within a proximity of your hiding spot (this means luring the ghost toward your hiding spot), and if you do that you can get photos during hunts in turn by using the smudge and then spamming photos as you walk toward your hiding spot. You have to order your inventory in reverse for this (incense and then camera in the next slot over).
I did that challange... Only camped in entrance... I got phantom so it always roomed to me, so It was easy
They should have group apocalypse and the trophie should have like 3 heads
nah the amount of heads should be based on the amount of players in the round.
That would be kinda cool. I would love to do apocalypse with my friend because i know he wouldn't wanna do it solo. I technically still could but it would be cool if they actually had a trophy or something for it. I learned so much more about the game when apocalypse came out and i really had to figure out EVERYTHING that all the ghosts could do.
Guess I was really lucky with getting a deo on my 4th run with a relatively easy objectives. (capture ghost photo, emf, blow firelight)

I beat this challenge on my first try.. my friend Deo helped me a lot
Point Hope is a great map, but there are tons of tons of buqqs inside, if you wanna know what you can do on point hope just ask me, Spoiler you can go under the Map, out of the map, behind the bus, stand outside on the tower, stay above the campfire, fly under the map and see the big red cirdcle (where you need to go to lobby, because you cant go back), go into a window where you can see the teammates and throw items through without they seeing you and much more ^^

one of them that you know i know the lot of buqqs, if you open on top the closed door fot the engine to put the gear inside, you can open the door in an angle of 90° and walk straight on it, while holding left mousebutton. then you warp up and can go on the table, bit tricky but if you try a bit you do it. but the others i will only say insym if he answer, if not i will know it until anyone find it out :D
Yesterday, i wanted to try the apocalypse 3. i got wraith, i completed all tasks, taked the photo of ghost AND forgot to put on wraith then i was leaving. ON 1ST TRY I ALMOST GOT IT

I'm not going to lie, my apocalypse trophy was after the update, but it was a perfect RNG dream. The ghost was an Obake and was in the Female Wing about 3 rooms past the bookshelf you can wedge yourself into to avoid the ghost. All I had to do was escape the ghost during a hunt, detect EMF, and some other fairly easy objective. I wedged myself in the bookcase with a camera, a smudge, and a paramic and did basically everything from there.
The whole run was 38 minutes and it was the only attempt I needed, I got that setup first try.
I have a question about 150% ghost speed. Is it actually 1.5x normal? Or slightly faster. I tried keeping track of footsteps and it seemed faster than 172 bpm, which is 115 x 1.5
Insym I just had a super idea, you should make a ghost gambling game where you roll 2 times and have everyone vote for 2 different ghost and 1 none category, since 50/50 is a ton of fun why not do 33.33%?? It would be a hoot because if there is 24-22 ghost, Doing a roll of 2 for 3 votes is even better of a accomplishment as a watcher to get right since it is 1/3 possible instead of 50/50 but would also maybe even the odds between the wins for believers and non since in probability the more you have on the board the more chances you have of hitting the right ghost. But if three votes 2 rolls ends up being right to many times and really destroys the doubters votes then going back to 2 is Guess the sweet spot, or maybe 3 rolls for 4 votes?
I did Apocalypse 1 twice. First time was a practice run, got a wraith and it would have been a perfect run. Second one, my real run, was a banshee. Got it twice in a row with everything needed, but my god was a wraith to a banshee fucking insane. I was TERRIFIED because they both spawned right by me each time. As I was leaving, the banshee actually did a full apparition event right by the door and I thought I was dead LOL
There is a bug, when we are revived by monkey paw. Our inventory is back to 3 slots instead of 4(lighter), anyone have the same bug as me? Or is it just me?
I went for the lvl one challenge and when i got in i heard a banshee scream and the 3 objective were escape the ghost repel the ghost and smudge near the ghost
Then i got confident and went for the lvl 2 apocalypse and did it 2nd try lmao
(Keep in mind i am lvl 80 and i have 120 hours in the game😂)
For me, the t3 parabolic was a lifesaver, as it lets you sit in the lobby and listen to where the ghost starts hunting from, and also gives you an idea of how fast it is, as well as allows you to hear what objects it's throwing, how often, etc. For me, normal speed ghost throwing a TON of objects. Obviously a poltergeist. Lured through black salt into the church and snapped a photo, smudged and hid behind the piano. The most difficult thing was getting a ghost event and preventing the hunt with the crucifix, because I had to go into one of the corridors, past the door it would lock, to try and get the objective. Thankfully, the room was close, so I was able to get a burn, an event, it exploded a pile of items, confirming my guess being a poltergeist, and then after I waited for it to burn it a second time, I booked it.
I managed to complete the apocalypse 3 days before the update hit and i managed to find a goryo in a 1 out of 4 chance with jihn, goryo, yurei and potential mare (i had checked some lights and no ability) my objectives were EMF, parabolic and motion sensor. only chose goryo cuz i kept hearing it start from the exact same spot in the parabolic mic for a whole of 52 minutes. parabolic mic is god sent in the apocalypse
If you can’t toggle to smudge after taking photo would doing it backwards work. Like instead of taking photo and smudge, smudge THEN take photo
My apocalypse gold run involved a Demon child that gave me a run for my money!
A lot of online guides will recommend resetting the game until you get a Deogen to complete the apocalypse challenge but it’s such a fulfilling rush to go in expecting to fail and then actually succeed!
Its been over a year since my last gold apocalypse run. After numerous runs I finally got a deo with easy objectives..... and I forgot to circle it in the book... fml. I might try again soon 😅
Their “bug fix” with the photo cam is annoying. They need to change that soon, it makes it unfair for a lot of players.
I really dislike the fact that on Sunny Meadows the doors lock you out of certain areas during a hunt. Like why can't leave the basement when the ghost is hunting there? It's so dumb...

I usually take the photo with tier 3 salt. I create a wall with tier 3 salt and wait for the end of the hunt and start talking to ghost and as soon as he step at the salts I start taking photos and I don't put all of it, I only use one salt jar and put the 3 piece of salt and take the photo and I usually doesn't need to even use the smudge cause the hunt ends most of the time
Do you think it would be cool if they added a platinum trophy for people getting a perfect game on 15x difficulty? As a super hard challenge for someone to go for that already got the gold trophy?

@@moog38yearsagoupdated1mont9 They made it so if you take a photo, you can't switch items for a few seconds. I think it was to fix a bug with the Polaroid camera where quickly snapping a picture and then swapping to a different item would always make the camera detectable by ghosts when it's only supposed to be detectable when a photo is taken.
@@moog38yearsagoupdated1mont9 that you can't immediately toggle to a different item after taking a photo anymore and instead have to wait for it to complete. That split second of smudging can be life or death like seen in the video

Why dont you bring the needed items for objectives and survival inside the building instead of always waiting for a hunt to end and going back in the truck tho?
maybe the changes with swapping camera is you must use tier 3 smudge to get a photo, so the risk is higher now with taking photo of the ghost while it hunt.
No more smudge tier 1/2 then photo, but Tier 3 Smudge > Photo > Tier 3 Smudge again

it took me like 5 attempts ( only cuz a spirit never ghost evented me ) before i finally got perfect objectives plus a deo and got my trophy today :D
There’s another easy way to do this, as long as you have tier 3 salt you can do it, go to the chapel and put down 3 things of salt, make sure you have 3 objectives you can do during the hunt, (motion sensor, repel the ghost, escape the ghost, etc) and wait for the ghost, as soon as the ghost runs in take a picture and hide behind the piano, I got the badge after about an hour and a half, I didn’t use any headgear at all.
my closest run was a mimic being a deo for 25 minutes and i had everything else done. The ghost didnt wanted to change so i thougt i could not be a mimic anymore, there for i didnt look for orbs
Had an Onryo instant hunt in chapel with 100% sanity and got completely fooled by it. Thought it was demon 😂
VR is really being neglected as far as updates. could you maybe try VR again some time just to bring some attention to it?
why did the devs change the apocalypse gold from 24x to 15x?
Probably to adjust for the fact that leveling up takes less xp and is faster.
iirc that change came with the custom difficulty rebalancing, 15x is the new max multiplier.
I think there are some goofy problems with Sunny Meadows in the ghost's pathfinding and how it navigates around obstacles. More than once on regular Pro and Nightmare games, and once during an Apocalypse challenge, I've had ghosts that I was absolutely sure had found me, be unable to reach me. One in particular was by the old bookshelf in that first office on the left when you enter. I was very sure that it was a Deogen, but it walked by that room 3 times in two separate hunts before it finally found me and killed me.
Turns out it was a Deogen. It should have located me the first time but I don't think it could get me. Maybe because it thought I was in the hallway outside and it couldn't kill me through the wall? The only reason I stayed in the map was because of that weird behavior.
I m so ashamed for thinking it was a thaye cz I heard the footsteps be like shit fast on my end and then later on I got clearer hearing on them and realized it was a moroi

Insym I got a question how do you tell what time and when it hunts do you use a timer or is it in real life time?
i also put fog on instead of heavy rain, it doesnt change the multiplier
the change to the camera so you can't change off of it while the photo is devastating on this challenge.
I really think they made the tier 3 headset absolutely useless in this update. Hear me out. I do believe the headset needed a nerf. And i do agree it needed some electronic interference. But i feel like its too much. When a ghost is near you cant even remotely see out of it. And you gotta navigate in the dark. So if your gonna be navigating in the dark anyway. Why risk the ghost detecting you, and then hitting your key bind to take the headset off. Which the animation completely covers your screen. I literally kept dying due to my headset. The second i took it off and just navigated the dark, i got the challenge done. On top of that. The tier 3 headset is really only useful in this specific challenge. Which like i said, is kinda useless imo. Any other map or game, chances are flashlights will not be disabled and the tier 2 headcam works like a normal flashlight without taking the inventory space. You can literally use it to test a yokai. Doing that would be literally impossible with tier 3 since you cannot see anything. I feel like if they just made the interface similar to tier 3 video cam it would be fine. I understand they wanted to make apocolypse more challenging due to adding another inventory slot. But i feel like its just too much. Heres my solution. Make the interference more like tier 3 vdeo cam so its still usable near a ghost. And then to add the same level of difficulty back to how it currently is by increasing the ghost detection range when using a head cam. That way in normal games it would actually a viable option. And since its tier 3 it obviously needs something to be better than tier 2. So the increased detection range would also add a good way to detect raijus as they would speed up at further ranges. You could also use the detection distance to identify yokais as well. Sometimes yokais can be tricky on certain maps as you get unlucky with where they walk and assume it detected you. So the increased range would make it more obvious if a yokai isnt coming for you when wearing the tier 3 headcam. But it would also add a challenge to apocalypse as breaking line of site and not being detected is your only chance of survival
Edit: sorry for the long paragraph, im just kinda upset they changed the tier on the UV to try and balance the tiers and then in the same update destroyed the tier 3 headcam
The hardest challenge would be attempting this without tier 3 head cam.
I got this before the update by getting lucky with the ghost/room combination. Rev in the kitchen, it could barely move out of the room unless triggered for me.
I did it when it got released, after 12 tries I got a hantu in a room close to the spawn

Is there any way to "train" for the apocalypse challenge?
I only play on vr and apocalypse is so much more difficult to do

wraith banshee phantom are my best ghost in this challenge. I didnt have to move much to get them.
also firelight is the easiest way to get EMF from ghost you can even get it far from ghost room during hunt.
Yeah you just need to walk with a crucifix glued to your feet or else you're fucked.
Isn't Moroi easy? If you get cursed, your sanity drops fast, and it speeds up each hunt, depending? That's not hard to figure out. Can't you also slow it down during a hunt by taking sanity meds? And the smudge stick is the "easy" thing? 😂

@pyrocryptid Yeah, well aware. He was talking about how the devs thought the smudge timer would be to OP to double on Morio in general. Outside of this challenge, it's not hard to identify.

I know Insym has 2000+ hours in this game. Outside of Point Hope, which just got released, he probably has a very good idea of map layouts.

When you’re 0 sanity does the hunt still stop eventually?
In the video the hunts stop after 1 minute and i think there is a 25 second grace period after a hunt where the ghost cannot hunt again

Tbh DK was right that it would be easier for 12 seconds smudge BUT instead of 7½ it should have been 9 seconds
