I think it would be cool to do a series where you go and buy a set amount of groceries, then make multiple different meals with it. I always seem to go buy a bunch of new stuff for recipes, and then don't know what to do with the specialty items I purchased after completing the original dish.
I love this idea but would love an alternative for the black bean sauce. We use to have a restaurant called Flattop where you went through a buffet and picked your rice or noodles, veggies, toppings and proteins then sauces. Then you left it for them to cook on the flattop grill. I was so sad when it closed. I definitely would love more cheaper dinner options like today. Also kid friendly.
If you’re starting a ramen series, the dish that got me through college was Peanut Ramen. Cook a pack of ramen as instructed, add grated ginger, julienne carrots and red bell pepper and diced green onion and finish with a couple tablespoons of peanut butter (any kind) i top mine off with crushed peanuts a lime wedge and sriracha. I taught all of my fraternity brothers how to make it and they couldnt stop from that point on due to how cheap and innovative it was 😂😂😂 28 years old now and I just made it again last night. Cheers Sam and Happy New Year!!
My kids and I love these videos! We substitute venison for all of the beef ingredients because we have 3 freezers full of the stuff, and we're tired of the same old popular venison meals! Thank you Sam!
Ramen dishes are always welcome and stir-fries make a meal so easy. A good series to try would be a budget meal series; I think that would be greatly appreciated.
So, so so sorry about Louis😢 Losing a best friend is heart wrenching but we have and will always tell everyone it is the price of admission for having someone so special and perfect in your lives. Dogs are the world’s most beautiful creatures, period!
Sorry for your pup Sam. please make Panda Express Firecracker Shrimp. Its delicious. It was a special for a little while then they stopped making it. I believe the recipe is online.
Made this tonight for my family, Sam. Did a batch with the steak and another without for the non-meat-eaters. My most picky kid went back for seconds! Loved this dish and can't wait to use the black bean garlic sauce again!
I've always found the secret ingredient to any stir fry is toasted sesame oil. shake in a bit just before you take it out of the wok, or what ever you're cooking it in/on. Speaking of which, your flat top reminds me of a flat top used for a Mongolian BBQ. I first encountered that in a hole in the wall restaurant in Ogden Utah in the '90's. I was there on a work assignment and we went there every Monday night because it was a $3 all you can eat special. They had all the meat frozen and sliced with a deli slicer set to very thin. It would take the cook about 15 seconds to cook what ever mix of meat, vegetables, sauces, and seasoning you picked out for that bowl. He used the longest set of chop sticks I've ever seen. You should do some videos on those type of dishes.
Sam, I am born and raised Vancouver, I agree for a quick meal I do this all the time for my son and myself. The brand of black bean sauce LKK Black Bean Garlic Sauce is what I use.
I’m trying this recipe tonight for my family, have most of the ingredients. Will get the black bean garlic sauce and green onions! Thanks Sam for another easy quick family meal! Greetings from Long Island, New York! 👋🏽😃🇺🇸
SAM! You just made our snow day in Oklahoma fabulous because I made this recipe. OMG this is completely awesome. We are already thinking about ways to do a Sam rift on this. My husband suggested chorizo and lean toward a Mexican Ramen...like using green chili sauce in place of the Black Bean Garlic Sauce. But I have never tried the black bean garlic sauce and it is mahhhhvvvelous! Thank you from Yukon, Ok from a former San Diego lady.
Yeah Sam, more Asian food recipes! I've cooked up so many of your Asian recipes and they are all delicious. My two favorites are the Thai chicken curry and the sweet and sour chicken
My grandson is a college guy and likes to cook things. He loves dishes that are made quick and easy and are prepared in 1 pot. Love to see more recipes like that. In reference to Louis. Don't waste any time getting another pooch to spoil. It will heal your heart.
My husband and I were watching this last night and decided to make it for our dinner. I was absolutely delicious! Will definitely make this again and again! (P.S. So sorry to hear about Louis)
When the pandemic hit I impulsively bought a bunch of ramen noodles. Having had no idea what to do with them, I now have purpose in my pantry! Thanks guys.
Nice and simple and to make it even more simple I use a bag of frozen Asian stir fry vegetables in a bag. Cut it open and a little oil in a pan and bam the veggies in the pan and no wasted time washing and cutting veggies. Love the video and I want more simple dinner options. Thanks and happy New year.
Thank you. I spent a lil too much for the holidays. I have lots of ramen. Need to make food for the week. This looks good. Im just gonna add some cabbage in there too.
Good Show Sam! Much more down to earth than prior episodes. How about more about meals that you make when not eating the things you usually make for the show (you know, that show you did without meat). You did a Mushroom Lasagna… a great one on grilled veggies and how about trying a focaccia ??

Great idea. Call it a “week of meals”. It could be a whole series.
Great idea Austin, I agree!
That's a good idea.

I think it’s cool to see you use a previously frozen steak. Rare to see cooking videos doing things like an average home cook like myself would do
