Looks like you’ve invested a lot of time and money perfecting your fabulous vehicle. As you were showing us the underside around suspension mod’s etc. I noticed some “cable ties” wrapped around parts, couldn’t tell exactly what they were retaining but ties can fail more easily than we think and you wouldn’t realise until something important got compromised under there, just a thought....🤔
@@offtrackfamily no not personally but for instance a LPG conversion would not pass inspection with ties , steel clips or brackets required to pass, not trying to poke my nose in but being an Engineer with Design experience I tend to notice things maybe most don’t, not trying to be critical in any way, you have a fabulous vehicle 😊
Wow, a very comprehensive overland setup- but very expensive I imagine! In which country did you have most of the work done ? My last Defender was a 2009 Puma 90. I just love Landrover. Thanks for the tour of your vehicle! Kiwi Chris

@@offtrackfamily Was there a performance difference with having just the ATB transfer case only vs having all 3? It seems redundant for us who do not understand it well
I found that going from a Donaldson pre-cleaner to the Toyota mushroom top style one led to less dust making it to the air-filter on a Defender (Safari snorkel on 300Tdi). The Toyota style cap seems to spin out dust more effectively, as well as being a lot more compact and robust. It was only about $40AUD on eBay (from Malaysia), so you needn't spend big on a genuine item. Have you found any steering issues with the ATB on the front diff? I've heard that the Tru-Track is better suited to the front with a less noticeable effect on steering. I've got lockers front and back, which the 110 came with, but if I had to do it again, I'd go for ATBs/Tru Tracks (front and rear) for simplicity and optimal traction all the time. Thanks for your video tour.
Thanks for your feedback! Yes we also heard that Tru-Track was better. But a friend installed it in his 90 so the only way to be sure is to compare. We will see with time if it's reliable or not. About the steering, no difference at all from stock with the ATB. Don't hesitate to ask if you want to see specific things in our next vids.
@@offtrackfamily they are many different types of land rover owners with also many opinions about equipment. But the weight has a lot of negative effects to drive an offroad vehicle. You can modify the whole train chain, tune the engine....but the weakest point moves more and more to the expensive essential parts ( gear, transfer gearbox engine.....) and these main components stop you definitely out in. the field. The other thing is you will never cover all the break downs. My experience is let the cheap easy changeable parts collapse and so you can protect the ”survival parts” Les is more ,3 ton is heavy Only my opinion and experience Have fun PS: lighter is cheaper in many ways
@@feuzpatrick1009 You are totaly right and I'm agree with you but it will all depend of your use of the vehicle. Our vehicle is prepared like this because we are traveling as a family with 4 people. This is more an overlander camper vehicle than a pure extreme offroader. We are knowing the limit of our rig. Those vehicles are made to be fully loaded or for towing so if you are just under 3 tons I don't really think that you have more risks of breakdown or failure. Thanks for your feedback because that's a very important point.
Beautiful Landy, tell me how much it weighs with full gear and ready to go? Are you on the road with only 122hp? Is that sufficient?, greets and congrats on a great vehicule.......a Defender 90 driver from Zurich
We wanted to try the Nissan Patrol in 2009 before buying our LR but its utility version wasn't available in Switzerland anymore at that time. On top of that a friend had big problems with Nissan because the engine failed completely after only 60k km & Nissan didn't want to apply the warranty on this brand new vehicle. Understand we weren't to keen for that model anymore.

@@gaikabushcraft7035 Merci!
Well done video, very thorough. What's the purpose of the PA speaker and strobe beacon light?
The PA speaker is to speak to people outside of the car and the strobe becon is a work light when towing big trailers for work.
Thanks for your comment and feedback! Yes we are often using cable ties. We never experienced failure with it. Did you have any issue with it?
@@offtrackfamily no not personally but for instance a LPG conversion would not pass inspection with ties , steel clips or brackets required to pass, not trying to poke my nose in but being an Engineer with Design experience I tend to notice things maybe most don’t, not trying to be critical in any way, you have a fabulous vehicle 😊
Thanks :-D Don't worry I well understood. For the moment it's not a problem here for the MOT so it's fine.
TE FELICITO......!!! ESTA GENIAL.
Thanks !
I just discovered your channel and love it. I'm about to start watching the rest. 😁😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for following! Enjoy!
Wow, a very comprehensive overland setup- but very expensive I imagine! In which country did you have most of the work done ? My last Defender was a 2009 Puma 90. I just love Landrover. Thanks for the tour of your vehicle! Kiwi Chris
Thanks for your message! In need a lot of money invested but fortunately over many years ;) Work was done either in Switzerland or France. Over the time we learnt a lot, so when we can do the job we do it ourselves. Check out the rest of the channel :) Cheers!
Super 👌
Merci!
No quites el protector de diferencial trasero, cámbialo por otro, los hay que ocupan menos y hacen de deslizante
Thanks for you rmessage! Can you tell me which brand makes a different kind of differencial protection?
How did it perform with ATB in the transfer case vs having ATB in the diffs was well?
We have both. ATB in transfer case and ATB in front and rear diff now.
@@offtrackfamily Was there a performance difference with having just the ATB transfer case only vs having all 3? It seems redundant for us who do not understand it well
Looks really cool, but what is the weight fully loaded ?
Thanks! Just under 3tons fully loaded.
Very nice video thanks
Thanks for watching!
Honest what is the weight in total of the car?
Near 3 t.
My experience is let the cheap easy changeable parts collapse and so you can protect the ”survival parts”
Les is more ,3 ton is heavy
Only my opinion and experience
Have fun
PS: lighter is cheaper in many ways
@@feuzpatrick1009 You are totaly right and I'm agree with you but it will all depend of your use of the vehicle. Our vehicle is prepared like this because we are traveling as a family with 4 people. This is more an overlander camper vehicle than a pure extreme offroader. We are knowing the limit of our rig. Those vehicles are made to be fully loaded or for towing so if you are just under 3 tons I don't really think that you have more risks of breakdown or failure. Thanks for your feedback because that's a very important point.
Fabulous
Thanks!
In short: "We've got it all."
It's never over:-D
Beautiful Landy, tell me how much it weighs with full gear and ready to go? Are you on the road with only 122hp? Is that sufficient?, greets and congrats on a great vehicule.......a Defender 90 driver from Zurich
Ready to go just under 3tons. Stock map is a bit weak but you can remap it.
@@offtrackfamily so i did, got around 150hp now😉
@@tomjet1000 nice!

Nice, but I think you better bought a nissan patrol. So you could spare all the drive train HD options. They never gets broken in a patrol.
