Amazing version of an amazing song. Keith had all of it going on. The cool hair, amazing showmanship, knowledge of music all wrapped in black leather pants.. How fucking cool was that?!? RIP Keith..
I used to listen this live CD again and again, this version of Lucky Man sounds definitive to me. It's very emotional and the keyboard part is magical. We will miss musicians like these. Thank you for your songs and for your vision. You were speciale beings!!
l saw ELP in 1975, a few years ago a friend persuaded me to go see Carl Palmer live.. The drum solo from "Pictures" was as good, as all those years ago.
The CD of this concert was my intro to prog rock when my father got a CD player and started buying the old albums he used to own and got this (at the time) new live performance. This song always sticks out.
Once I was in hospital recovering from an operation. I'd had opiates for about a week and was severely constipated. When it finally happened, it took about half an hour to pass a turd which excruciatingly felt like a treetrunk. Happy moments of joy and bliss compared with listening to this though.
I'm truly blessed to have seen ELP perform this live in concert in 1977. I was a sophomore in High School and I'll never forget it. My favorite part of the show was when the late great Keith Emerson's synthesizers raised up through the floor of the stage during Fanfare for The Common Man! I can still see it as if that show was yesterday.
I was there at the RAH,its was one of the best concerts i'd been to,then i saw them at the Newcastle city hall and that was even better, shook Carl and Keiths hands at the end!
such a beutiful song it's sooo beutiful, but also a tragic song. This song holds a place in my heart, and a time when there wasn't all the tension in the world today.
Written @ 12, 1959, 1st release 1970! Amazing to some; however, having a 13 yr old son who writes & performs rather well, I understand, accept and seek the creative qualities in the inspired of all ages. The talent and ability to conceptualize then piece together such brilliance and beauty is not limited by age but by inspiration, whether 12 or 50 or 90. Life, just keep inspiring us.
I saw the same gig 30 years ago,at the old "FOX THEATRE",in ATLANTA GA.Carl did the same 20-30 minute solo w/ the " BIG FKN REVOLVING DRUM SET". Most excellent memories i think.
I saw them in Madison Square Garden 30 years ago. When Emerson and Lake took a break, Palmer played a 20-30 minute drum/percussion solo that was just unbelievable.
great music. i saw them in concert in Memphis in the early 70's. only group i know who made it witout only one guitar player. no bass guitar! the moog synthesizer is still awesome.
I really like the feel of this music...It's guys like these pro's that introduced a form ogf Rock that played equally to what is between our ears as opposed to the tired but easy what was between our thighs..
Greg Lake was the greatest of the prog rockers. Keith Emerson’s classical bombast was aural torture, but he did some wonderful things serving Greg Lake’s songs.
That's cool. What you have to remember is that there's not much meat and potatoes in every tune they do, while some tunes they have do. Plus, they're a classical music influenced band, so they're going to have heavy/light/strong/passivepowerful/delicate tunes.
imho this can't be compared to the early ELP...both for the awesome imagination in writing and for the energy on stage. Late 70s ELP...that is the band i love.
Great video thanks saw them at Mar y Sol in Puerto Rico in 1972 if you can find that album has great version of Lucky Man and Take a pebble thanks again
RIP Keith Emerson, my favorite keyboard player.
Stellar performance!
Every one of them are far out
REST IN PIECE YOU GENIUS...GREG AND KEITH 😪🤧
They were much more than a band.....ELP were a three piece Orchestra with no limits.....classic Rock n Roll.....
excellent rendition.....best live overall with instrumentals and voice is good.... and drumming outstanding as well as a nice complementary synth...

How fucking cool was that?!?
RIP Keith..
Such a huge influence in my life... great memories of them live in 1973...
I used to listen this live CD again and again, this version of Lucky Man sounds definitive to me. It's very emotional and the keyboard part is magical. We will miss musicians like these. Thank you for your songs and for your vision. You were speciale beings!!

My favorite concert moment was Keith Emerson's
keyboard solos. Incredible!!

DESCANSEN EN PAZ: GREG LAKE Y KEITH EMERSON. FUERON MÚSICOS MUY BUENOS Y GRANDES. SU MÚSICA EXISTIRÁ SIEMPRE.
The first ELP song that I learned the words to by heart. Will always be a favorite!
Memories of the music of our youth flow strong. RIP Keith Emerson
ELP 2x LIVE IN FRANKFURT/GERMANY in the 1970er♡Jahre.GREAT CONCERTS 🎸💥💫🎙🔊🎼🎶🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
The first band I ever saw in concert back in 1978. First time I smoked a funny cigarette, too.
i saw them play at a high school dance in the early 1970's who knew at that time this song would have so many meanings
Another one of the greatest bands RIP Greg Lake and Keith Emerson

I grew up listening to ELP. I never had the chance to see them live sadly.
A timeless classic and a sample of the genius of ELP.

Superb! Thanks for posting this. Please, ELP, do one more tour!!
RIP Keith Emerson
Great, the Moog sitting behind, and playing a digital synth with an ersatz of the original solo sound :-)
No he uses that one as a controller too because of the weighted keys. He has a midi/CV box connection
When I was a teen, I loved this music and I'm still gettig goosbumps. It just hurts to move the same way!

It makes me cry every time. Been doing that for forty years. I'm an ex-Navy Gunners Mate. I was more lucky than this dood. God bless him. RIP.

What lucky men are we...

Always a great song. And, Greg still sounds good here.
R.I.P. Greg, and Keith.
