Greg Lake was without a doubt, one of the Best Singers in Rock and roll History! No rap here Folks, JUST GREAT MUSIC! RIP BROTHER GREG... YOU ARE MISSED VERY MUCH!
It is wonderfully gorgeous, and I also immediately thought of King Crimson's "Moon Child" (the vocal part), but then I remembered, "Well, that's Greg too!" :)
Many people - including ELP fans - do not know that The Sage, while using Greg's melody and lyrics, is based on the traditional, classical guitar piece L'Essence.
I can see that there is a thing that resembles the sage on TH-cam called L'Essence, but finding more concrete information about it is tricky. Do you have an actual source for it (and the sheet music). Like, when it was composed and the like? Thanks.
@@talastra It's considered a traditional piece; I have had it on CD for many years, 'Classical Guitar Masters - Variations in Measure'. I have also seen it on Spotify under 'Adelita - Baby Loves Classical Guitar', performed by Remi Mazri.

Gorgeous voice.
I've been listening to this since 1971 and still haven't heard a more beautiful acoustic guitar solo 👍

Love this song, the classical riff and his beautiful voice.
The voice of an Angel. Greg along with Annie Haslam the voices of prog😊
I can't go back in time, but this song still lives in my heart.

Gracias, buscaré la música de la que hablas😊
Yes, I know that's not an acoustic guitar in the pictures. They are, however, pictures of Greg in his glory.
But what they are are a Gibson Ripper and that absolutely glorious Alembic 8-string.
@@hubbsllc Thanks for filling in the missing info :)
So beautiful! But it's "the earth of the past COME to flesh".
That is quite correct. Thanks for catching that.

Thanks :)
