Video popped up at the right time as I am trying to plan a trip there in March 2025. Can you provide the hotel names you stayed at in Lofoten and Senja with your recommendation of them? I don't have a lot of experience driving in icy/snow conditions. Was there a lot of snow and ice on the roads in March in Norway? I'm thinking of just finding an accommodation that has transportation options available to/from airport.
Perfect timing! Yes, in Loften we stayed at a Fishermans hotel which was a great local experience, it was called Hemmingoden Lodge. For Senja, we stayed at an aurora viewing focused place called Norwegian Wild. And in Tromso, we stayed at the Moxy Tromso by Marriott. I would strongly recommend them all! Safe, amazing, above and beyond. The concern with driving in snow and ice is very valid, a great question. We were worried about the same, my mom and I, as we also didnt have much experience driving in these conditions. We rented a Mercedes A class and although small, this car was quality and equipped with the gears and such to handle the conditions. We also got lucky with spring like conditions when we went to Norway so the roads were generally clear. But sometimes it would snow, and we also noticed they were very on top of ensuring road conditions were drivable. One time, we did make a mistake and pull over into the snow slightly to see the aurora and our tires got stuck. But this was completely our mistake, we got too excited about the aurora. Apparently this is a common tourist mistake. So now that youre aware of it, dont be that tourist like we were haha. Happy travels!
Really loved this video, Mahna! It’s definitely on my bucket list to see the northern lights 😍
So glad to hear it! I hope you get to see them soon! ✨

@MahnaGhafori Which location did you see the aurora the most?
