    Hi,Dr.Rishi. Could you clarify this please?If a small cell cancer develops cavitation within after 3cycles of chemo, is that infection, progression or regression of disease? Could you please share any articles for post treatment (non surgical) followup imaging in lung ca?

      Usually if a cancer develops cavitation, that is a sign of regression.

      @@ThoracicRadiology thank you. Though the mass has enlarged overall but with development of caviation. Initially it was a right perihilar mass with mass nodal complex. After chemo it has further extension into the lung parenchyma with broad based contact with lateral chest wall and cavitation within. Lymphatic changes have increased, however nodal mass has decreased in size.
