    Grateful for the detailed explanation. It is easier to remember something, if you know all the "why's" to it's properties. These fundamentals are often omitted in lecture. Thank You.

      I often have to defend myself when I'm asking my attending: Why is that like that? - "Well that's just how things are", they respond. For me always an answer to which I on the one hand I think you just don't care and lack the capacities to teach me properly and on the other hand seeing that if you want to advance in your endless list of tasks in clinical practice you need to be pragmatic. Difficult to judge but I am THIRSTY for that kind of understanding! Otherwise one just assumes certain things without being sure in one's own foundations in order to draw assumptions... Thanks for the video!

    Doesn't a narrow window have a low contrast (long scale) compared to a wider window which would have a higher contrast (short scale)? Or am I getting mixed up with simple radiographic x rays and the result of adjusting kV settings (low kV giving a higher contrast image)?

    • @sewingrad
      @sewingrad  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, wrong way around . Wide window is low contrast. We are talking about windowing not kV as that is fixed by the time we are viewing the images

    If your ct tech relies in the auto dose setting cam they actually be overexposing some patients to radiation such as larger people who are at risk for overabsorption
