Huh, compared to the videos he's done this year, he's still just as well explained and easy to follow. When some people got it, they got it. I hope he never looses it.
The only thing "shitty" is the resolution. The audio quality is better than most others today are with their built in microphones. Also the editing is really spot on and timeless
Dude, this is from 2007... Your quality standart is surelly present in this piece. I'm very happy to see the sincerity you put in yout videos, as this doesn't seem as I'm watching a whole different channel, but instead a youtuber I've first heard of in 2018. I'm glad your channel exist.
man looking back i now realize how camera quality and technology has changed over the last 16 years, i still remember enrolling in school for the first time in my life in 2007, still feels yesterday to me
Just watched your 1M subscriber video and I like to see how these mega channels got their start. Aside from the video and sound quality your content is pretty consistent with your origins, that's amazing and you're doing a great job! I'm looking forward to your next video.
I co-developed the VideoTurtle that converted the TV RGB of systems like the Amiga into S-Video. Even though the frequency, 15.75KHz, was the same, not all TV RGB is the same regarding peak-to-peak levels. We found that out the hard way with the Atari ST line and needed to attenuate the levels -- we basically used a voltage divider. Also, the Amiga's were noisy signal-wise and if the cable to the VideoTurtle were not metal-shielded, we got all sorts of junk. The funnest use was with my Falcon 030 and running the various RGB demos on a 21" S-Video TV.
His channel is now old enough that he can-do a retrotec video on himself. I actually think that Would-be really cool, 10 years then and now comparison of the tech he used To start his channel and share his videos. "Since most of you will be watching this in a low resolution Web format..." pretty great
The Amiga blew any Apple computers out of the water. It was truly ahead of its' time. But mine had problems like I mentioned. Plus like you said, it did not sell well here in America and for that reason alone, it was hard finding support and software for it. I'm glad Amiga did well in Europe. Its a very nice computer for sure.
Wow, what lengths you have came since this video. From modding an Amiga 1000, all the way to modding an Intellivision, and anything and everything in between. I'm so proud on you. Happy 12 years of being 8-Bits, Murray. Love, -Me. (PixelCrunch)
I've been watching this channel for years now, probably since about 2016 or so. This video came out when I was only nine months old, yet here I am now because fifteen-year-old me has come in possession of an Amiga 1000.
This just auto played for me and I can't believe its over 10 years old now. Aside from better quality your content hasn't changed much and that is NOT a bad thing!
David, i never knew that you started yoour channel back in 07', i like how your camera gave the quality some fuzz which makes it kinda like a commercial from the 1990s, good job... :)
that was awesome man Im not tech savy myself nor Do I own an amiga but I like seeing people taking old stuff and making it work better. My hats off to you!
Wow even after all those years you always make things right its sure the video quality and sound quality of your microphone is better but you always made excellent content ! its quite funny cause S-Video used to be a great connector back in the day !
Watching this in April 2016. Wondering if this works on a Amiga 2000, and if the widget is still being made. If so, I might be able to pull my old Amiga out of the closet and use it again (it has composite out...in B&W only).
Aaaaaaand here we are in 2017 enjoying the good old 8-Bit Guy, I love that his style of videos never changed super much because I like them how they are :D
Tonestronaut, your idea would actually not look as nice, even though it would be displayed on a VGA monitor. Mainly because the composite signal would be the source of the video converted to VGA, which looks terrible.
Yep! Here in 2020! I miss my Amiga 1000. I also had...well...all the models..I was a Commodore Amiga developer and later a reseller. If you still have your 1000, take a look closely at the inside lid. My name is among those far more legendary than I.
Very nice video for the amiga 1000 and I just DID the s-video modification but somewhat different and it works! I used the so called "RGB4ALL - universal video converter" i bought in poland. With your information I started to do the job. Unfortunately It did not work because i got a picture without horizontal sync, so the picture was not good at all. Then I did a research on the internet and I found out that some information in your video was not useable for this mod. now specific: in your video you used for sync R15(SYNC), see your video at 3min20sec. The solution to get my RGB4ALL working is that I had to use the sync signal on R16 !!! Now its working wonderfull! Please remember this information, do not see it as criticism. It's just positive for you and me. (I did this mod on my PAL amiga 1000.) Regards , from the netherlands
The reason the video looked so bad is that this video was uploaded on March 24, 2007, and it wasn't until 2009 when TH-cam finally started 1080p HD videos. Any video before then was in 240p, but it could have been 144p, and in that case it would have been much worse.

The component inputs used in the USA are not RGB. It can be converted to RGB using some circuitry, though.
