Yesss Castle attacks with guns. It's a great ol' blend of olden turrets and defenses + modern warfare and tactics. Gotta love it.

Actually, most of Shuri castle was completely destroyed when the fighting got there. Only a few smaller buildings stood and the castle itself was mostly gone, reduced to charred, low-lying walls and it's foundation

I don't usually like it when you control the infantry, but that guy who jumped on the mg was pretty sick.
In 1942-44 German U boats (I have read differing numbers- 8-15 U boats) came from Germany with blueprints, precious metals, and military equipment. One was the German 88 Anti-aircraft (Anti-tank) on wheels (on a carriage). I read one account that over 10 were delivered with ammunition of various types and blueprints to make more. These examples were place on Okinawa in late '44-early '45 and Shuri Castle had 4-5 of them in and around the various fortifications.. Others were in caves and 2-3 were on a defensive line in bunkers. One gun that was on wheels (as used by Rommel in Africa) would get pulled out of a cave and it alone destroyed 20 tanks in one day. It would get pulled out. Fire twice then pushed back in the cave. I do not know if it was pulled by a vehicle or manually. The Sherman's were in a valley.

It was such a sad battle, especially from the civilian side. 1/4 of all Okinawan civillians died in that battle.

casvus I mean there is the rising sun mod! You can do usmc scenarios in editor and some Asian armies to play as in campaign like Japan and China, cool shit. Something to pass the time while we wait for this to come out

There was actually very little Japanese resistance within Shuri Castle. Most of their forces had fallen back to reinforce defensive lines.
I like how you let the A.I. do it's thing but like you've said, you MUST take control sometimes. Never Ever Apologize for unblocking or opening up areas or say using those Flamethrowers on the Shermans. Keep it Up!

You should do the Battle of Manila, it was the only recorded instance of urban warfare between the US and the Japanese, be cool to see the US Army fighting it out in the streets against entrenched Japanese forces.
Hey Diplex, i feel that with you controlling the tanks, especially on more cinematic longer battles like these, it really does amp up the realism. Since most ai tanks tend to either die immediately or run around in circles, with you controlling the tanks they are actually doing their job as infantry support vehicles for once, making all the other non controlled ai flow a lot more realistically. All in all great video man. Best one you've made by far.
This looks so much like Call of Duty:World at War it really looks amazing!
I think you did just the right amount of controlling in this battle, controlling tanks is much less annoying and makes for cool moments with the flame throwers.
Diplex ignore the "you offended me" r's
Platoons should be about 50-60 men. A standard company consists of 200 men, with a couple extra being the CC FSG, and command platoon, which should top out at 15 personnel to include the xo. Artillery is about half that, but double in fighting capabilities. A lot more when the big guns are in play.
Infantry battalion should be around 2k men, this includes support personnel, and an artillery battalion is again, around half that.

War is never the answer but we still have war. We had a war that was going to end all wars but it didn't. Instead , it changed history.

Battle Of Gallipoli? It was a major war effort by the ANZACS in Turkey. In WW1. The Turkish and an up hill advantage. It wasn't also just ANZACs it was British, Canadian and American as well.

Doesn't anyone want a KOREAN WAR Scenario? It'd work perfectly, it'd have at least 4 Solid Scenarios with Easy 8's, Chaffe's with some Pershing's then 46-48 Patton's Vs NK/CHI T-34's, T-34-85's maybe some KV's and some Human Waves.
And can you please show us how these missions are made? From the very beginning to the end of making process.

Okinawa... tried to not fight ww2 but when the enemy attacked them, they would defend until the last breath.
