    Where does the hose go from the pcv? Mine is missing the hose completely

  • @mieczniuk

    Hey, great video! I've got one question tho. Was the CCV membrane glued to the valve cover from the factory ? It looks like it, some pieces of it are stuck on the cover on 1:31 min. I think i might have to replace it on my N53 engine. Thanks in advance and Godspeed

    • @BIMMERHEAD
      @BIMMERHEAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      at that point in the video i had only removed the middle of the ccv. as u can see i had to break it piece by piece. and to answer your question : no its not glued to the valve caver its part of that ccv valve and when you get the new part it will make sense

      That thin hose that connects to the cvv it connects in to the intake hose.
      You can have a look on this website www.realoem.com it would make more sense

    Does pcv valve failure misfire? As a fault code, it gives p0304 cylinder error in my car. Does pcv cause oil contamination?

    • @BIMMERHEAD
      @BIMMERHEAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it doesn't cause misfire. a PCV valve controls emissions, it takes the gases produced by the crankcase and routes them back into your engine's combustion chambers, when it fails oil gets in to your intake and can cause a lot of issues. disa valves will fail throttle body, and low oil level..

    • @ersinylmaz4172
      @ersinylmaz4172 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was going to cause misfires in other vehicles. I was driving because I was sober. In my vehicle, the pcv sound came first, then the oil cooler gasket started to leak, now it started to misfire with rough work. I thought if pcv could give a reason for misfire. They say it happens on different cars

    • @BIMMERHEAD

      it depend on the year of the car ... some came with a vacuum hose some didn't. you can check the intake hose if it has a place to connect the thin hose but if it doesn't that means it is fine like that so don't warry about it to much.

    • @devanbarr8472
      @devanbarr8472 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure you have solved your issue already but it does cause issues with throttle response and power as, depending on how it fails, there is too much air or not enough air recirculating into the cylinders

    CCV valve? Is that the same as the idle air control valve?

    • @BIMMERHEAD
      @BIMMERHEAD  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no. the idle air control valve is usually close to the throttle body and its role is to regulate the amount of air the engine gets when idle at cold. the CCV is short for Crank Case Ventilation and its role is to separate gases that accumulate in the engine and recirculate them without burning oil. if the CCV valve is bad the engine ends up burning oil.
