This is a very helpful video. I recently went through a period of anxiety as I waited for MRI results. I practiced breath prayers which helped calm me. You can do this by breathing deeply to certain scriptures, breaking the verse into phrases. For example, using the Lord’s Prayer, inhale as you say in your mind “Our Father,” then exhale as you say in your mind “who art in heaven.” Continue on with the rest of the prayer in that way. It always puts my mind at ease.

So many reasons this channel and Dr Griggs are valuable; the recognition of more than just the medical situation, but feelings, ideas to overcome stress, to address the entire body and the person.

Many thanks for this video, very important topic! Journaling is a great way to reflect and verbalize feelings and emotions. What also helped me a lot is guided meditation (there's a lot on TH-cam), yoga breathing to get in touch with inner self, running to feel free, strong and in control.

So many thanks Dr. Griggs, for your suggestions to stay in the present. The anxiety and obsessing i have experienced recently has been overwhelming for me. As i have shared in some of your other videos, 14 yrs ago i was dx and treated for stage 3 of lobular ca experiencing a lot of hurdles..since then my health has been somewhat stable, but 4 months ago i felt an enlarged lymph node. After 4 months watching my anxiety has increased 10 fold. Last week after a biopsy was done it showed it was a benign, and what relief i felt after hearing this news...since though i have been still ruminating..i practiced with you the box breathing, the visualization of somewhere special, connecting with the smells and things, and sounds around me know..and wow!! such a feeling of calmness.. the visualizetion of my favorite spot..i can relate with your visualization of Martha's Vineyard..mine is being in RI where i grew up sitting on the rocks looking at the beauty of the ocean, the sail boats, the sea gulls, the smell of the salt water, and most of all the gentle sound of the waves coming in and going out. ..how much these times centered me..i dont get there though as often now living in CT..what a wonderful video..with this experiencing visually, i will plan a trip to my favorite spot soon.. thankyou so very much🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed with anxiety, especially after your past experiences. Your favorite spot in Rhode Island sounds beautiful and peaceful. Planning a trip there sounds like a wonderful idea to help center yourself. We are delighted to hear that the biopsy was negative. We've been waiting for your news!
