Have the exact model of G-Cool like the one here (G0001 International version ) with the black resin band that i bought way back in 1997 and is still working until today. It was made in Japan. One thing that made me fall for the g- cool was the very unique green LCD numbers against the black background not found in any other model of g cool and all g shocks in general and i think its too bad that casio didn't applied it to any other watch model except this particular model. Now I'm having problem in finding a suitable watch band for it.
Casio seems to not make multi-colored display anymore. The process seems to be a bit harder to do I guess especially for mass production like G-Shock these days. Back then, most model was pretty limited.
I don't think you'll find a band exactly like the original anymore elsewhere, since Casio makes all of the parts themselves. I usually just switch to regular silicone band with compatible size. Silicone band comes in plenty of color variations to match with the shape & design.

They seems like they could fit in. DW003 engine does looks similar as DW8800 though.

I use acetone and rub the band. Light scratches cannot be removed unless you literally sand it with 12000 grit nail polish or something.
Other that, not possible without further damage the strap overall look.
What is that key icon on the jdm at 10.30 means? And how to activate it? My gt-004 also has that icon.
Its a recycled lcd from other model, we can't use it here. The Codename model could. It basically lock the 'mode' button so that your registered personal data is safer.

If you want a beater watch just to tell time, a gshock you could rely on in any harsh environment, mudman got you cover. If you want more complications, get a glx6900.

Functionality: GLX6900 wins
Pick based on your daily need. You know better. I prefer glx6900/g7900 though.
