@@issadraco532 when FFXIV 2.0 came out they intentionally made a few aspects like WoW, mainly just questing and dungeons for the leveling experience. They were trying to make people switching over from WoW just comfortable enough to be slowly introduced to what makes FFXIV massively different to WoW. because lets face it the avg WoW player is like a sheltered child when it comes to trying other MMOs. also that was 9 years ago, these days WoW directly copies from FFXIV but without understanding what they are copying.
Don't you worry little sprout, most of us healers are use to having to raise many many times. And not just sprouts. Even our own veteran raid members die this often sometimes lol. Just as long as you're still having fun, and get up to show that boss who's in charge that's all that matters! Hope you keep playing and enjoying FFXIV!

Kind healers like you are why I even bother to try 24 people raids. It's nice not to be ridiculed and just raised no matter how often I get killed. Last week I didn't even see what killed me twice.
@@seralucii don't worry at all. People die all the time in 24 man raids. A lot of the mechanics are designed to be chaotic so sometimes you'll even die by someone else's doing (accidentally ofc). As a matter of fact, I stopped queueing as healer and started going Red Mage on 24-mans because it's easier to res 3-4 people at a time like that, and specially if two of those people are the two healers LMAO. But seriously, don't worry too much about dying in XIV. It only really matters if you're doing stuff like Extreme Trials or Savage raids.
@@seralucii Don't worry, on 24 mens raid (even the lvl 80) everybody can die on a stupid way, like me who didn't pay attention when I was going on my alliance spot for Ozma, tripped, fall from the stage and died... Before the pull and under the judgmental look of the healer who raised me and the whole raid (but it was my only death in the raid soo it's okay xD)
True. And yet it still sometimes isn't enough. Took me a while to realise that sometimes facing away from the boss is the better option to see mechanics. Til then I got well roasted by flamethrowers

That "aha" says so much, only 3 letters but it conveys so much meaning; pain, anguish, utter confusion. These 3 letters are more than a cry for help...it's the lifestyle of the Sprout, wanting to grow and bloom into a fine player. But for real though, this was good xD I remember when I was a sprout and tried to take a Nidhogg stack marker alone c': good times.
i literally just had that today in roulettes, a drg ran away with the marker. how tf do you get to heavensward without learning what the stack marker is?
I remember getting a stack marker as tank before, planned to use Hallowed Ground to solo it and had to literally run away from an overly ambitious Black Mage sprout in order to not kill them. Sadly, I couldn't outrun them and we had an unfortunate casualty who was promptly raised. It's unfortunate that I can't remember which fight it was.
I lost my sprout at the end of last month... this is my third month playing and always thought my sprout icon was annoying, but now I miss it haha. Welcome to FFXIV.

Ok but I will never forget the time I played Praetorium and forgot to get the keys to the robot and had to wander by myself until the cutscene teleported me out of pity and it wasn't even my first time. And the Castrum Meridianum one wasn't your fault. I'm not a sprout anymore but I still make blunders very often so I never blame sprouts for anything lol
The first time I ran Prae, they didn’t force people to watch the cutscenes, so I got left behind IMMEDIATELY and never made it to the final boss. I cried. The second time I ran Prae, I swore I’d do better, but this time I forgot the keys, and once again got left behind. The third time I did Prae, they’d fixed it with unskippable cutscenes AND teleporting you into the current arena. Five years later, I can actually do the dungeon, and try to tell any sprouts in there not to panic when everyone else starts rushing past mobs and just follow our lead. 🥲
So, i have passed in this situation 3 TIMES, i just dont get it, i didnt know we need the key, because 90% of the dungeon the switchs only one of the party need to press
Even if you don't get the key you can just hang there out while everyone gets in the armour and run to the back left of the room it's in and wait for everyone to spawn in with it and just run along with them. I did this numerous times while running msq when i'd forget the key haha
Dying is part of the joy of learning. I remember the first time I saw a mechanic in a raid and ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO because I had seen it earlier in a dungeon; I was just super happy. Really, anytime I see a mechanic I've died to in the past and now know how to somewhat deal with it makes me happy that I somewhat paid attention. It can get dicey when they throw multiple mechanics at you at the same time but that's all part of the song and dance of the fights.
8-year vet here and I just want to apologize to the sprouts who keep getting left behind cos the vets just go zoomzoom thru old content. Tbh, most of us just really tend to forget how overwhelming this game can be for the new players.
For my new Final Fantasy XIV players having a hard time in Realm Reborn and Heavenward raids and trials. As a veteran player let me be the first one to say don't worry. It gets worse :D
In a way you never stop being a sprout, since the roulette has so much content now that you can randomly end up in some dungeon or trial you haven't done in over a year and be completely lost.
Lmao I remember that one time in Haukke Manor, I'm a sprout and I thought the fight was done---and everybody was gone and I thought they left me😭😂 though when I finally got to teleport to them, they cheered on me HAHAHA😭😂 Then the dps patted me on the head while I was healing our tank, meanwhile the tank was screaming "HELP ME???" cause the dps were busy petting my head while the tank was the one fighting and getting all the dmg😭😂 Idk why that's so funny and sad at the same time asdfghjkl
As a healer i dont mind rising as much as i am allowed just have fun xD but a little headsup to any new player that may read this. If you got raised you have a 5 second invulnerability if you dont do anything, as soon you move or attack your invulnerability goes away so just wait a tiny bit to be healed and carry on to be killed agai- to kill the boss i mean 🤭❤️

As someone beginning to tank, is there a general class that is main/off tank? I mainly level in dungeons and castrum, so I haven't really encountered situations with two tanks
I've died three times against Titan. The first time I was too far on the edge when he destroyed the arena and fell to my death. The second time I was sting right in the middle when he destroyed the arena and got crushed to death. The third time I couldn't dodge his punch attack and fell to my death again. Haven't tried again since. xD

Just remember these few things all sprouts. (Aka new players.) Everyone was a sprout once. Even veterans make mistakes. We're all learning every day. And this is forgivable. ... It's only a problem when someone doesn't want/doesn't try to learn.
This is amazing. My friends are still getting the hang of the game. I love running content with them because shit like this happens. I end up dying trying to either rez or explain mechs. I gets hectic but its too funny sometimes.

Least you stood NEXT to the blue knockback marker. I learned the hard way what happens when you stand IN that same blue 'pool'. Over and over. Until one day, it finally clicked.
You know I got a lot better as a sprout when I figured out I could zoom out my camera. Had to look into it because some player was like “you know the arrows in mean to stack” and I couldn’t see it. Now I’m just not fast enough to react but I see it now. Sometimes.
Also fellow Sprout here, I was always bad at any kind of Melee so I decided to go Healer and damn is it fun, Luckily no one Superbolide vibe checked me yet after Benediction. I still remember clearly how Ramuh Ex went. Wiped 5 times and then the party abandoned the Trial... Really tho, bless all the peeps Helping and explaining kindly what to do and why. I'm new and just looking at the screen makes me so confused like all the bars doing stuff and so many abilities, i only have 4 (including my magic animal) and I can sprint but thats it
My main job (BLM) is lv 70 and I just started leveling a paladin. Doing my fist few dungeons made me feel like a sprout again lol, pulling is anxiety inducing when all you've known is "follow the pull"
Had my first ever duty fail on Sastasha (the first duty) in a year of playing. My husband was the Tank and the healer was trying to DPS and heal at the same time and they were not all too good with the latter. Oh, to be a sprout..
@@smugslav as a DRG main, I can confirm that almost every DRG love playing as a tank I see DRG tanking the boss while me as a healer and the DRK watching from outside the boss room in lvl 60 dungeon
With Endwalker release, everybody in the new dungeons and raids will be the sprout who don't know the mechanics because nobody will be aware, the first days will be a total wipefest and it's a thing who Hype me even more, saw everybody struggle, trying to figure what happened and talking this with the other who don't have a single clue about this seems kinda hillarious
I did Lab. of Ancients just yesterday, though I saw mechanics, as a tank (and new player) I made the raid wipe twice, some players (I loved them) explained to me all the boss fights, and also, couldn't keep always the aggro (even with the aggro button activated) because everybody was killing everything in a minute, i feel useless but really thankful, and at the end, someone gave me a commendation, I laughed and cried a little (keep in mind I come from WoW...and at this point you all know the kind of community they are)
I scraped 5 people off the ground after the sundering mechanic ... you know, on that 3rd boss, in Orbonne, that guy ... 5 people. I did this in about 30 seconds. One was the tank, one was the other healer, and 3 DPS. We cleared that encounter on that attempt. That is the rush of blood and gore I live for, as a WHM. Blood for the BLOOD LILY
I just finished a Realm Reborn and just began with Heavensward, but all bosses leading up to that point didn't give me as hard of a time as Titan does, all because I keep getting knocked off the platform and dying immediately without revival. The one boss that is similar to this is the Kraken. But instead he just tosses me around like a toy.
As a seasoned WoW player (tank) and a new sprout on FF14. This just makes me die a little inside, STOP STANDING IN THE FIRE, STOP STANDING IN THE OBVIOUSLY PROJECTED HIT RANG OF THE BOSS. ~sobs into shield~ make it stop....
I actually died more with Sycrus Tower and the Curtain Call rather than Ancient Flare. That one I only failed it once. Curtain Call instead is me being tank not knowing that I needed to hide behind the ice barrier and thought "I can tank this no prob". All 3 times I did said dungeon.
Just caused a party wipe in the fight against Nabriales right before the beginning of HW because I used our LB3 on him right before the part where you need it for the tear. I didn’t realize I had messed up until I looked at chat and realized that seconds before I had used the LB, one of our tanks had literally said to save it for the next stage. Got flamed a bit for that, but we took him down on the next go and I live to sprout another day 🌱
As a sprout healer I didn't struggle too much until the end of ARR, so I decided to study a little the fight and dungeong of Midgarsormr. Still, I got hit with every AOE he throw me and needed 2 tries to complete.

Every sprout will forever remember the confusion of being left alone and then mysteriously getting oneshot.
I just did it for the first time yesterday and an alliance member told us what was going on. Saved me and some other sprouts the embarrassment
Every time I do roulette an get Labyrinth. I warn the entire alliance to "RUN!". Usually end up with 2 deaths at most.
I never got the chance to, healer pulled me and I just went oops
it's not labyrinth if you don't wipe to ancient flare!
It took me a while to realize that zooming out all the way makes everything a billion times easier.
Is there a key combo to do that? I seem kind of stuck in too close...

@@DWlsh43 The first Alliance Raid that you can do; The Crystal Tower is unlocked at lvl 50.

The second time I ran Prae, I swore I’d do better, but this time I forgot the keys, and once again got left behind.
The third time I did Prae, they’d fixed it with unskippable cutscenes AND teleporting you into the current arena. Five years later, I can actually do the dungeon, and try to tell any sprouts in there not to panic when everyone else starts rushing past mobs and just follow our lead. 🥲
So, i have passed in this situation 3 TIMES, i just dont get it, i didnt know we need the key, because 90% of the dungeon the switchs only one of the party need to press
Even if you don't get the key you can just hang there out while everyone gets in the armour and run to the back left of the room it's in and wait for everyone to spawn in with it and just run along with them. I did this numerous times while running msq when i'd forget the key haha
Dying is part of the joy of learning. I remember the first time I saw a mechanic in a raid and ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT TO DO because I had seen it earlier in a dungeon; I was just super happy. Really, anytime I see a mechanic I've died to in the past and now know how to somewhat deal with it makes me happy that I somewhat paid attention. It can get dicey when they throw multiple mechanics at you at the same time but that's all part of the song and dance of the fights.

8-year vet here and I just want to apologize to the sprouts who keep getting left behind cos the vets just go zoomzoom thru old content. Tbh, most of us just really tend to forget how overwhelming this game can be for the new players.

In a way you never stop being a sprout, since the roulette has so much content now that you can randomly end up in some dungeon or trial you haven't done in over a year and be completely lost.
Lmao I remember that one time in Haukke Manor, I'm a sprout and I thought the fight was done---and everybody was gone and I thought they left me😭😂 though when I finally got to teleport to them, they cheered on me HAHAHA😭😂
Then the dps patted me on the head while I was healing our tank, meanwhile the tank was screaming "HELP ME???" cause the dps were busy petting my head while the tank was the one fighting and getting all the dmg😭😂 Idk why that's so funny and sad at the same time asdfghjkl
As a healer i dont mind rising as much as i am allowed just have fun xD but a little headsup to any new player that may read this. If you got raised you have a 5 second invulnerability if you dont do anything, as soon you move or attack your invulnerability goes away so just wait a tiny bit to be healed and carry on to be killed agai- to kill the boss i mean 🤭❤️

Like..a fingernail? A "nail in a coffin"? We wiped twice. Then someone kindly explained to stay out of the AoE. Which I tried to do, but everywhere seemed lit up. Darn. So it ends up Veteran's opinion of my play style is quite accurate and I'm totally crushed...Oh yes, then they told me that being a Thaum is tricky, because Thaum/Black Mage is squishy. And hard to play. So of course, the worst PVE player ever picks that as a job. I surprise myself sometimes...

As someone beginning to tank, is there a general class that is main/off tank? I mainly level in dungeons and castrum, so I haven't really encountered situations with two tanks
@@seralucii not that I know of, currently every tank class is viable for main and off tank. The meta probably only matters for ultimates
I remember killing the bunnies during the 2nd boss of Snowcloak, pretty sure my entire team was fuming the entire time.
Panic sweating is the initial response because they can either try to tell you or continue to dps the boss, hoping to win anyways.

I've died three times against Titan. The first time I was too far on the edge when he destroyed the arena and fell to my death. The second time I was sting right in the middle when he destroyed the arena and got crushed to death. The third time I couldn't dodge his punch attack and fell to my death again.

Just remember these few things all sprouts. (Aka new players.) Everyone was a sprout once. Even veterans make mistakes. We're all learning every day. And this is forgivable. ... It's only a problem when someone doesn't want/doesn't try to learn.
This is amazing. My friends are still getting the hang of the game. I love running content with them because shit like this happens. I end up dying trying to either rez or explain mechs. I gets hectic but its too funny sometimes.
This was adorbs and not long ago, i was like this. And not being rude but the layout is also similar to my trashy one awhile back. I felt so lost being a lil Sprout around 7 months ago.

You know I got a lot better as a sprout when I figured out I could zoom out my camera. Had to look into it because some player was like “you know the arrows in mean to stack” and I couldn’t see it. Now I’m just not fast enough to react but I see it now. Sometimes.
Ill always remember the sole lancer sprout I had once, valiantly fighting alone against all odds as ancient flare went off

My main job (BLM) is lv 70 and I just started leveling a paladin. Doing my fist few dungeons made me feel like a sprout again lol, pulling is anxiety inducing when all you've known is "follow the pull"

Had my first ever duty fail on Sastasha (the first duty) in a year of playing. My husband was the Tank and the healer was trying to DPS and heal at the same time and they were not all too good with the latter. Oh, to be a sprout..

As a red mage I killed myself in the suzaku fight 3 times with the fancy backflip in the 2nd phase so it isn't just the dragoons

With Endwalker release, everybody in the new dungeons and raids will be the sprout who don't know the mechanics because nobody will be aware, the first days will be a total wipefest and it's a thing who Hype me even more, saw everybody struggle, trying to figure what happened and talking this with the other who don't have a single clue about this seems kinda hillarious
I was going to ask 'why are you shaming this sprout?" Then I saw the channel name.
I did Lab. of Ancients just yesterday, though I saw mechanics, as a tank (and new player) I made the raid wipe twice, some players (I loved them) explained to me all the boss fights, and also, couldn't keep always the aggro (even with the aggro button activated) because everybody was killing everything in a minute, i feel useless but really thankful, and at the end, someone gave me a commendation, I laughed and cried a little (keep in mind I come from WoW...and at this point you all know the kind of community they are)
I've found it's a very helpful community. And boy, do I need help.
I scraped 5 people off the ground after the sundering mechanic ... you know, on that 3rd boss, in Orbonne, that guy ... 5 people. I did this in about 30 seconds. One was the tank, one was the other healer, and 3 DPS. We cleared that encounter on that attempt. That is the rush of blood and gore I live for, as a WHM. Blood for the BLOOD LILY
I just finished a Realm Reborn and just began with Heavensward, but all bosses leading up to that point didn't give me as hard of a time as Titan does, all because I keep getting knocked off the platform and dying immediately without revival. The one boss that is similar to this is the Kraken. But instead he just tosses me around like a toy.

As a seasoned WoW player (tank) and a new sprout on FF14. This just makes me die a little inside, STOP STANDING IN THE FIRE, STOP STANDING IN THE OBVIOUSLY PROJECTED HIT RANG OF THE BOSS. ~sobs into shield~ make it stop....
I actually died more with Sycrus Tower and the Curtain Call rather than Ancient Flare.
That one I only failed it once.
Curtain Call instead is me being tank not knowing that I needed to hide behind the ice barrier and thought "I can tank this no prob".
All 3 times I did said dungeon.
As an astro main my rescue is on perma cooldown when playing with sprouts. They must be protected!

Just caused a party wipe in the fight against Nabriales right before the beginning of HW because I used our LB3 on him right before the part where you need it for the tear. I didn’t realize I had messed up until I looked at chat and realized that seconds before I had used the LB, one of our tanks had literally said to save it for the next stage. Got flamed a bit for that, but we took him down on the next go and I live to sprout another day 🌱
As a sprout healer I didn't struggle too much until the end of ARR, so I decided to study a little the fight and dungeong of Midgarsormr.
Still, I got hit with every AOE he throw me and needed 2 tries to complete.
