I pre-ordered, canceled after I saw a few videos. I loved DA so much, I went and bought a month of EA playpro...what a waste. I played about 12 hours and just couldn't be bothered to load it up again...this game is just bad, looks great, but so boring. Very, VERY disappointed.
I’m one of the unlucky souls who paid full price on pre-order. (Can’t return. I played too long before I realized my mistake. 😅) At this point it’s entertaining just watching all the well deserved bad press and abysmal sales numbers. It’s also a bitter pill to swallow because I am a long time fan of the franchise and I know this means it will be a loooooooong time (if ever) before we get another Dragon Age game. And if the same people who worked on Veilguard do that one…. I don’t plan to buy it.
It’s a good lesson to learn to be honest. It’s happened to all of us. It happened to me when I bought mass effect andromeda. And if the game kept with dreadwolf and it still had the downright cringy writing it would have been a second lesson. All I know is that for the majority of us is that I don’t think many people will be buying their games before seeing people, real people and not a small percentage of them actually genuinely liking it
I’ve been watching the Steam sales list since game launch. It dropped to #204 at one point. They jacked it up to #90s w the free cc, then it faded again to around #130. Now they have it 35% off on Steam and it’s up to the #30s again but at a loss. I’ll take it only if it’s free somehow. They’re just using every sales trick they know to hoodwink anyone willing to shell out money for a ticket to see the unearned end of DA.

If I were devs, I would most definitely retconne this game into just be a really bad dream that Varric or the inquisitor had. And then, make a whole new DA game that is the actual sequel to the Inquisition. Much better than this Veilguard nonsense... I have actually decided not to acknowledge The Veilguard as a part of the lore. It's less painful that way, heh! 😊
i got a physical copy at my local electronic chain store for almost half off last week - i was always gonna buy the game at a discount and was hoping it would be christmas....but i wasn't expecting this much off this quickly. definitely a welcome surprise....but yeah, the game isn't what any dragon age fan wanted. it's fine....but woo boy did it need further iteration and development on all the parts that matter.
My advice BioWare you better scrap veilguard and remake it like cyberpunk did, adding more cool things ( which you dump from dreadwolf of course.) and make character creation more attractive and more choice and consequence, or you can stop putting a DEI and woke bs in your game forever and fire that vile director Corinne Busche and those woke mtf that work in veilguard.
If they gave you an option to make taash remain normal. The game could've had its inclusion and had the "player choice matter", but that take actual talented writers.
The only thing that can save Dragon Age now is to remove Veilguard from the canon. Maybe Trespasser too, since that's where most of these lazy design problems started. Strike those dumb World of Thedas books too while you're at it. Then start over with a true conclusion of Inquisition followed by at least a lead-in for the true DA4.
I have DAO, DA2 and DAI ultimate editions on Steam. So Failguard is being advertised left, right and center for me (at currently 35% discount). Jokes on them, I ain't playing it even if they pay me to.

BioWare can not recover from this. The game does have its moments in my opinion but…..lacks ALOT
