I agree with you about Target. I walk in, look around, and suddenly have this urge to leave. It's just not what it used to be, and their clothes are awful. I miss K-Mart too.

Lol...we realize that the malls killed downtowns, right? There's nothing wholesome about malls, it's all just economics & not the community development kind. But, ultimately every era of shopping ends, we'll always change, but trends involving buildings have to last a long time. I said 40 more years in the 80s & I was about right, at least in the rural west. But malls do need to be repurposed STAT, they are ideal for medical offices, social services hubs, education, & potentially housing. But there is no reason to get that nostalgic over Kmart or malls, my friends, they were once the "bad guys" and they all did undo themselves. And the world keeps turning...
Now, the print catalogs, omg that one does get me, my family has weird generations (lots of older parents, most ppl have 5 gens where we have 3) so my grandfather was a teen in 1898. The idea that he and I both used the Sears catalog used to really get me, altho turns out he was terrible & met a karmic bad end. But we really still do have the catalogs, they're just digital, and every history museum in the USA prob has 10 sears catalogs from 100+ yrs ago. We have several that kids can play with, they are very common. Will be interesting to see if we get offered any more modern ones, I'd love to get a 78 or 79 one...I still remember what I wanted lol!

K Mart was very popular when I was young in the 70’s. My neighbor used to work in the “wig department.” 😄

And Cheryl Tiegs! I bought the most beautiful aqua blue Cheryl Tiegs pants there. I loved them so much. I was 16 and thought I was a supermodrl in those pants lol
I never find anything at Target anymore & it used to be one of my favorite stores. The only time I shop there now is if they have a certain Lego in stock (which they rarely do anymore either). I remember when my 3 boys were young, we loved to go there. We’d get popcorn & walk around & shop. I avoid it now. Edit- I have honestly been really impressed with Walmart’s clothing recently. They have really have upped their game in their clothing department.

I loved Kmart!! Im 45 and agree wholeheartedly with you on shopping. Its so funny because I tell my kids stories about stores I shopped back in the day and my 10 year old randomly says I wish theyd open Kmart back up! Just based on my stories 😂 Great vlog! ❤❤❤
I agree with you that Target has changed. The vibe there is strange and I can't put my finger on it. Yes, They used to have cute clothes and I always found sundresses. I don't frequent that store anymore. Happy May, Dr. Dray.

I usually put aloe vera gel on my burns, but we were at a family weekend and i got splattered with grease while cooking hamburgers. I ran cold water on it and my niece said to put yellow mustard on it and it would take away the burning and also not blister. I had never heard of this before, but it actually works. Just leave the mustard on till it dries and the burning has stopped.
I love that Cetaphil airless pump bottle too and wish more brands would use them. It just makes so much sense. I hate dealing with regular pump bottles with the tubes that stop working once u get near the end and so u have to throw out the last bit of product
I miss TCBY and I agree that Target used to have some of the cutest clothes! I bought a lot of stuff from there until they remodeled the store. I love the make up section and hair care section but I rarely find cute clothes there anymore.

19:50 I work in kitchens. With steam, beware of the vertical space above a boiling pot. Be careful reaching over boiling pots, and pouring boiling liquids. Do not have your face over a boiling pot. If you get a steam burn, submerge your hand/arm in cool water with a couple ice cubes (not full on ice water), but ideally running cold water is best. Give your injury a full 10-15min under cold water, it does make a difference, and it will feel too long, and your employer may tell you no, and that's when you look out for your own body and be assertive because like Dr. Dray says, you want to reduce the amount of thermal injury to cells.
If oven mitts get wet, they are not heat-protective. Once they dry out, they are heat protective.
I rarely go to Target unless there's something specific I'm looking for in skin care that I can't find in Wal-Mart. I used to be able to find cute clothes and pajamas there but not any more. Target is still my favorite place to shop. They have really good variety and I still appreciate the price, design and quality of their clothes and lingerie.
I burnt my wrist 6 days ago touching a cookie sheet bringing it out of the oven. It was pretty bad. Ran it under cold water and that night out silicone on with a bandaid over it. I’ve been changing out the bandaid and adding more silicone every day and it’s almost like nothing happened! I am amazed!

Same thing here in Delaware. They all seem to have the same exact signage in their windows. I have a hard time believing there are thaaaaat many people who vape who need thaaaat many stores to choose from... but what do I know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I finally purchased the Bondi Sands Fragrance Free Face Lotion spf 50 for $6.99 on Amazon (for 2.53 oz) and I'm loving it! I also bought the body version of this you've talked about of the channel before and loving it for my body. Definitely underrated products . Might be my new favorite based on the price point alone. Re: Target- absolutely agree with you, Dr D. I feel like I’m being assaulted by the loud sounds the minute I walk in. Between the loud overhead music & the constant beeping of the pricing “guns”, I can’t take it. I put my AirPods on with Boise cancellation just to dull the “loud”.

My Target has a lot of very nice things, I shop there often. K-Mart is a sad story. They went bankrupt so many times. I still have my Martha Stewart bath towels that I bought there in the late 90's and they're holding up unbelievably well.
I remember they also had a Jacklyn Smith ( Charlie’s Angels) line of clothing that was nice!

I can vouch for the Cetaphil Healthy Renew serum with the beads. I’m in my 50’s and hoped it would help with the texture of my skin on my face. I couldn’t tell a big difference at first (I got discouraged and almost stopped using it) but after using it for a few weeks I could tell my skin was smoother. Now a few months later my foundation goes on better and looks better. I’m a fan of that one.

Shopping with you is hilarious! I can't believe you're old enough to remember K-Mart as being a good store. I can remember, but I'm certainly old enough to be your mother. Before K-Marts disappeared from my area in New Jersey, they had disintegrated into depressing squalor, I do remember finding nice things there. Walmart took the place of the K-marts, and depending on the Walmart, I can find nice items there too. Hit or miss--I once had some women in an upscale mall ask me where I'd bought something I was wearing. They were shocked when I told them it was from Walmart. There wasn't one in their area. There still isn't.
I will go to Target to get my son that Golden Girls notebook. He's a huge fan. And both of us can recite some of Julia Sugarbaker's most stirring speeches.
Spot on with everything you missed. Service Merchandise was a favorite of mine. Got all kinds of things from there. Brass vanity from an electric guitar to jewelry.
Hope that Golden Girls notebook has a section for sarcastic thought of the day!!! I'm old enough to remember being able to smoke at work!

I agree about target, it’s not fun to shop there anymore. I do pickups for essentials or cat litter lol but I prefer going to a mall now to do my shopping for fun stuff. And I almost exclusively buy j beauty or k beauty for skincare/hair care so I don’t need to browse target anymore. It’s sad because I used to love target but it has gotten so annoying to shop there.
I still have Martha Stewart stuff from Kmart. I loved Kmart. I too wish they would come back.

A silver cream or a silver wound gel is amazing for burns. I keep it in the kitchen because I’m clumsy and burn myself often. I once spilled boiling water on myself and immediately applied the silver cream. The pain was minimal that day. And nonexistent the next day. The wound looked bad but no pain and healed quickly.

I still love my Target, I buy groceries there a lot. Their best kept secret? In my experience (and at my Target) is avocados, the 4 in a mesh bag. Never had a bad one yet. The staff curate them carefully, there's not a huge pile to choose from, but what's there is choice..

Totally agree with you re Target!! I have not found it interesting or fun to go to in years. I just don't know if the focus of the company has changed, or the buyers aren't on point anymore or what the deal is, but Target is NOT the one!
When i got a burn i tried to cool the area too with cool running water in order to stop the spread of thermal injury to the cells. But at that time i hadn't had with me the cicaplast baume but a flamigel, a gel that specializes in treating wounds thermal or physical (cut and scrapes) and promotes healing and scar prevention. Although it was not helpful because my scald injury was serious i had it covered and proceeded with a different treatment. But cicaplast was with me and still is and is super helpful 😊❤. Yeah frozen yogurt back then used to be super popular but now you search to find one. We are speaking like from peak to bottom that kind of gap. Thanks Doctor Andrea for another wonderful Vlog 😊❤.
I still very much enjoy target. I go almost once a week if only just to walk around and check out the new makeup and Bath and Beauty products. Yesterday I walked over to their active exercise section and picked up a joylab onesie in taupe. It is so cute! Target has been around since I came to America in 1983 so I imagine it will be around for another 25 years at least!
Interesting. Water not cold from the tap. Never considered that might be a problem. The water here is always cold out of the hot tap and it takes a while to get warm. Canada vs. Southern USA.😊

Grackle again lol! I once saw a crow filtchering through a Taco Bell bag in a gym parking lot then trying to fly away with the entire bag. It flew about 50 feet up and dropped the bag and it went everywhere. I cried laughing!

Sadly, I think the Target clothes aren't as cute (for my taste) as they used to be. The Merona tshirts were THE BEST. Durable AF, cut well, not too slim, not too baggy. They don't have Merona brand anymore. But I DO like the grocery and personal care stuff at Target. They have products I can't find anywhere else. I think Target will endure.

The hair masque sounds interesting. I wish it didn’t contain a silicone…..L’Oreal used to have an EverPure line that was silicone free and I really liked it for my curly hair.

I still love Target. I go in there, get Starbucks and walked around. The bullseye section has really good stuff if you have kids - their toys in bull's-eye section is on point.

@Drdray 17:00 If laundry detergent was in that paper/milk carton packaging, I would be happy. IDK if the detergent is compatible. But that seems like the first product that should be repacked from plastic to waxed paper.
We still have a TCBY in Birmingham. Haven't been there in years though, mainly because there are just so many newer, more exciting local places to get froyo or ice cream.
I moved from CA to NC, it amazes me how many women out here love to use the gym tanning beds!! I used to back in the early 2000’s but so glad I got far away from that. It makes me cringe thinking about people choosing to do that after all the info on how bad it is now! I 100% agree with you on that Target isn’t fun anymore. I go in grab what I know I like & need. It’s women’s & young ladies clothes are horrendous now & even their workout clothing selection took a dive! Never find anything I love anymore. WHAT HAPPENED??

That soft brown lumpy pillow was a Dino shaped chicken nugget plush. It's all the rage with the kids right now.
I love that whoa glow until it got in my eyes OMG it burns so bad even if you don’t go near your eyes throughout the day it makes it to your eyes and all the sudden your eyes burn and will not stop until you actually remove it .
I use honey on burns and it neutralizes the burn instantly. This method has worked many times for my family.

I also have the same feelings concerning these big supermarkets. Here in Germany and the same at Target and company in the USA. I think with age my demand for better quality changed( not that I shop much more expensive) , my patience with looking through that many product is lost. I also know much better what I want, what I can wear( I seldom try on sth that in the end doesn't suit me). So maybe the markets didn't change but I did. I shop there for groceries or everyday stuff and cosmetics but for clothes ... I'm most often happy to leave as fast as possible.
My state still has a few TCBY's, I don't go often anymore but the white chocolate mousse is just amazing 🙌
