Thats the whole issue with Shonen anime/manga in general. The braindead main character with 0 character development always has to be the strongest in the end, regardless of whether the more interesting, more developed character put in more work to get to that point. Goku and Vegeta, Naruto and Sasuke, Luffy and Zoro, Asta and literally everyone else in Black Clover, etc. Sure, the secondary protag can sometimes surpass the main character, but never for long.
@@ghannawi13 imma stop you right there, i don't fully agree on your sentiment on one piece, yes it's true that Luffy as a character isn't the deepest of them all but he did have some character development, especially after the death of his brother, and was separated from his crew for two whole years so all of them could, in their own way prepare themselves for the second half of the grand line. And the thing about their travels is, there are way more stronger and dangerous opponents out there than the straw hats, that is why Luffy had to come up with different clever techniques or "gears" so he could protect his crew. As for Zoro, apart being first mate and Luffy's most loyal crew member his main motivation is to become the worlds strongest swordsman, so it would make sense if he would always push his limits to better himself, i remember back in the arabasta arc when he had to push his limits to the point when he could easily cut trough steel. But the rest of the crew goes trough some impressive progression throughout the series as well the best examples are Nami and Usopp. At the beggining they were the most useless members when it came to combat, never the less, because they didn't want to hold the crew back, and support them the best as possible, they grew themselves out to the point that, bow they can easily keep up with the rest of the them

L Jeans To be fair, AoT hasn’t gotten to its “juicy” part yet, so he’s not wrong. Jujutsu has already finished airing, so obviously it’s “better” than AoT. But when AoT does reach that point, it’ll probably be best anime of the year.

I believe it had to do with the super saiyan legend about a low class warrior becoming a super saiyan and destroying himself. I don't remember to be honest, but I remember vegeta talking about it in the freza arc/saga.
