Hi Jake. Thank you for the feedback and the review suggestions. Revzilla typically only reviews products we stand behind and sell. OSBE helmets don't seem to have any distribution in the US, other than their ski and snowboard offerings. If you ever find OSBE helmets on our site, you can be sure a review will follow. Did you also reach out to Web Bike World for a review? That is another great resource. ~Ali
Size is best determined by head measurement. Comparing between brands is often a bad idea. The FX-41 should be fine through winter, but you may need to layer up with a balaclava underneath. -CK
Hey YamahAsian, its generally a bad idea to compare fitment between brands as sizing is usually not consistent. If you can provide me with a head measurement, I'll be happy to make a recommendation for you! -CK
I have the AFX 39 DS helmet and I've been very impressed, best helmet I've had and more than half the price of other helmets I've had in the past. My only complaint is that the white peak has yellowed over time in the texas sun, but when it comes time to upgrade the FX-41 will be the one I get. Love the visor. Great review as always Anthony.
I've noticed many helmet reviews don't include 2 key areas very popular with new helmet purchases - room for speakers from popular comm units and will the main unit be able to clamp on. My new helmet is much too thick in the shell for any clamp on comm unit(I have the Sena20S) and many helmets seem to have an areo shape out side that precludes a flat surface for using the adhesive mounting. Not complaining, just saying with the amount of riders using comm's now, that should be included in every review. Thanks for all your cool vids!
I'm excited to try this helmet out, I've been riding an f800GS for 3 years and I've wanted a quality, angular enduro helmet. Like you said Anthoney, a lot of bang for the buck. Thanks AFX, I hope it's a good as it seems.
been riding with this helmet for a bit now. fits a bit big on my head, i picked up a large. i have to say highway riding is terrible. way to bulky and the nose is long, so any head checks and the wind is really catching on the helmet. the screws on the sides are cheap and the face sheild comes up a bit when you do head checks. definitely going for straight street bike helmet next time
Some of us have unusually large heads, and the FX-39 is a wonderful helmet that goes up to 4XL. Looks like the 41 doesn't go above 2X. Please always keep making the 39s.
Look at the O´neal sierra adventure. Is it the same helmet with just a different brand???? they look identical. Here in Finland i cant find the AFX anywhere, only O`neal.
It looks to me like the Smoke Sun Shield is not very dark, as far as the actual amount of sun protection goes. Will that shield be replaceable to possible a darker one?
i got one of these cuz they looked cool are really comfortable... but it almost feels like if you were on a head on collision and hit the chin part of the helmet it would more then likely rip your spine out.
The drop-down sun shield looks like a great idea, but is it dark enough? It looks way too light to actually accomplish anything. Is a darker tint available for the drop-down?
Love the new helmet, and the orange is raw. 2 Q's if u have the time: 1. I have a Scorpion EXO-500, wear a LG. Any thoughts on what size will fit for the AFX line? and 2. I'm planning to take the 2-Wheeled Academic Challenge this year and ride to school every single day the whole year...and since I live in Wisconsin and we have this thing called "winter" (perhaps you've heard of it?) I'm looking for a lid to wear through the snow, keep the flakes out of my eyes, etc. Too cold for this lid?
That's a good question. The THH TX-27 helmet looks very similar to the FX41. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the visors are interchangeable because the THH TX-27 isn't sold in the US. I'd recommend reaching out to THH directly for information regarding replacement visors. -Hi-Viz Brian
Just got mine today, looks good and overall I like the helmet, but my first thought is the size, it seems quite large? Fits good but the overall size of this thing seems big, It has been awhile since Iv worn a motorcycle helmet of any kind.

Does it fit well with glasses? even when using the interior sun-visor? are darker sun-visors available? Are side-plates necessary when removing the peak for street/highway use? Thanx
Unfortunately, the only way to tell if the FX-41 works with your glasses is to try it on. There are to many variables such as the size of your frames, where they sit on your face, and whether or not they're curved behind the ears or straight back. In addition, side plate are not necessary (not available) when removing the peak. -Hi-Viz Brian * Inner Sun Shield - www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/afx-fx-41-ds-inner-sun-shield

Is there an option for this helmet without the peak? I love the style which reminds me of the AGV AX8 EVO naked helmet but I'd rather buy it from the factory as is opposed to modifying it.
Marcel West-Bailey You can remove the peak and then reattach the visor screws, but it's not ideal. There is no "naked" version of the helmet. -DrewZilla

I wear XL Shoei X-11 and XXL HJC FG-Jet (and i think XL in Icon Variant when I tried it)... so I doubt FX-41 will fit my 58 cm head with medium (from the website size chart)... any opinion? also... you guys don't happen to ship the helmets to Toronto, Canada do you?
+VroomToRaftel If the crown of your head measures 58cm but you're wearing XL and 2XL helmets, are your helmets still snug around the crown of your head if you remove the cheek pads? Do you find that you've experienced forehead pressure when trying on medium and large helmets? Or has the issue been with tight cheek pads? If you've never worn a medium or large helmet comfortably, the FX-41 DS likely won't fit in medium either. Without knowing more about your head shape, it's hard for me to make a better size recommendation. As for Canada, yes, we do ship to Canada. Cost depends on size, weight, and value. Hi, I got an Oneal Sierra the other day and wanted to know if the front visor's are interchangeable with the FX-41's replacement visor's? I wanted to get the silver or gold FX-41 visor and was hoping it fit the Sierra. The Sierra only has smoke and dark.
Tj's Wicked Lasers!!! We don't carry the O'Neal Sierra, so I can't guarantee cross-fitment, but both the Sierra and the FX-41 appear to be the same helmet. There's a good chance the silver/gold visors will work, but I can't promise they're compatible. -DrewZilla
Cheer's Drew. I know this is a stretch but can you possibly measure a visor from top to bottom and left edge to right edge please? Just in case they are sized slightly different? Thanks mate. Also, what is your postage rate for a visor to Australia?
Tj's Wicked Lasers!!! I'll see if we can measure a shield for you. As for postage, we only ship via US Postal Service Express Mail International, which has a high initial cost simply due to geography (~15,000 km from US to AUS). One lightweight face shield still costs about $50 USD to ship to Australia. Compare that to something worth $500 USD at 5kg: costs about $80 USD to ship Express. That's why we recommend bundling your order to spread shipping over more items. -DrewZilla
Tj's Wicked Lasers!!! Ok, so in the direct center, the shield is 13cm tall from the notch in the middle to the top center. From side to side at the rear of the hinge hole flanges, the shield is 42cm across, measuring across the curve of the front of the shield. -DrewZilla
Hi guys. what do you think of AFX FX 41 vs ONeal Sierra Adventure S15 for an enduro helmet? mind you i am losing hearing because of loudness so the quieter the better. using earplugs and all but still ... thanks.
Fadi Deek They're basically the same helmet (the ONeal isn't sold here), and they're average for noise levels. I don't think you'll find a quieter helmet for the money. Just continue wearing good ear plugs. -DrewZilla

Ivo Vlashki If you aren't riding motocross than you probably don't need the features of a motocross helmet. Motocross helmets are loud and don't have great aerodynamics. Hi. I've had a Gmax 11D for the past 2 years and this looks to be a good replacement. Unfortunately in Singapore, where I'm located, there aren't any stores selling the AFX FX-41. What would you advice for the FX-41 helmet size if my Gmax 11D is size S? Should I get a S or M?

I dont recommend this helmet the side screws for the visor are WAY too short. The detents on the visor are trash. And the helmet is extremely loud anything above 40mph is earplug territory. Oh and couldnt forgot the visor dosent snap in place after awhile i have had mine for 2 years... dont do it prpblems happened since the 6th month of owning it
This is the worse helmet I ever owned, very noise in high and low speed, also in high speed it's move your head around. I feel pretty in safe with that and not recommend it.
there is a big gap between the top of the helmet and the visor to let air through but from my experience i have a helmet like these from 4 years ago it can catch the air if your head is back to far and whip up but not a huge problem
Those who want to get this helmet. Get the Snow Master TX-27. Its the same exact helmet even though they say its for snowmobile. Comes in better designs and you get bluetooth, heated visor plus a interior tinted drop down visor! For the same price.

It can be a bit loud, and if you aren't behind a big windscreen, the helmet does catch air during head checks. -DrewZilla
I wear a small RPHA 10. feel it's a bit tight but it's bearable. what size do you think I should get for this FX 41?
+thezeroxl I'd still recommend size small for the FX-41. -DrewZilla
RevZilla cool, thanks...
Could I Install the SM-20 on this helmet? or I have to use velcro ?
+Andres Ordoñez You can install the Sena 20S on the FX-41 using its included clamp mount. You do not need to use Velcro. -DrewZilla
Is this helmet any good for a snow helmet
With a dual pane or electric shield, yes, it's a good snow helmet. See below. -DrewZilla

i am going to ride my enduro in the city sooo i am wondering what type of helmet to get can you help me with the choice?
Ivo Vlashki If you're only riding on the street, I recommend a street helmet. -Hi-Viz Brian

RevZilla but woudbt a dual sport be a better option because its the best of both full face and motocross helmet and i like the styling a lot
Ivo Vlashki If you aren't riding motocross than you probably don't need the features of a motocross helmet. Motocross helmets are loud and don't have great aerodynamics. For street riding at speed, aerodynamics and noise are a big deal. However, if you like the styling of dual sport helmets, go for it. -Hi-Viz Brian
well my bike can reach 120 km/h and maybe in the weekends i will change tyres and do in the mountains :) i will figure it out,but thanks for the advice
Trempest Humphries I recommend getting the FX-41 in the same size S (small) as your GMax GM11D. -DrewZilla

Can I ride with this helmet in the rain without my head getting wet?
In light rain, you'll be ok. In heavy rain, you'll probably get some water leaking in. -DrewZilla

Should I Harley rider wear this?
I wouldn't recommend it for a Harley, as the peak visor catches the wind. -DrewZilla

In india this brand is thh. Name of the helmet is thh kingseye.
Can I Even Wear Glasses In These?
If your glasses sit close to your temples, you can probably wear glasses in these. Wider glasses probably won't work though. -DrewZilla

Do you guys know if anyone sells antifog ?
In your reviews would you please start putting goggles over the helmet so we can see how they fit ?
sham wow guy?
Chris Popp Sham WOW! -Hi-Viz Brian
FUCK YEA! I wanna look like Master Chief!! xD
i thought i was the only one that thought that lol
I dont recommend this helmet the side screws for the visor are WAY too short. The detents on the visor are trash. And the helmet is extremely loud anything above 40mph is earplug territory. Oh and couldnt forgot the visor dosent snap in place after awhile i have had mine for 2 years... dont do it prpblems happened since the 6th month of owning it
not really a review .. more like an infomercial
Bad ass
This is the worse helmet I ever owned, very noise in high and low speed, also in high speed it's move your head around. I feel pretty in safe with that and not recommend it.
Look like "Snail Mx311"
How is this helmet with wind lift at speed? My motocross helmets are a nightmare!!
there is a big gap between the top of the helmet and the visor to let air through but from my experience i have a helmet like these from 4 years ago it can catch the air if your head is back to far and whip up but not a huge problem
