I have this helmet and love it. It has a smaller profile than other helmets, so it doesn't look like you have a huge head when you put it on. Very light and aerodynamic when at highway speeds. ONLY thing I don't like about it is that the anti-fog lens isn't all that antifog. I reached out to Revzilla and they were awesome as always and sent me two free antifog solutions to resolve this issue. Reached out to Scorpion and they are sending me a new faceshield along with telling me that they will have pinlock ready faceshields in August. Other than that, love this look and feel of this helmet.
@@jayy24195 Well... Maybe not your first. You may not like the fact that it fogs up on you. I would find a helmet that is compatible with Pinlock inserts so that when you get into colder conditions, your faceshield doesn't fog up on you. If you don't mind that it may fog up on you, then, sure... It's a great helmet otherwise!
I just got this and I have glasses and no lie I had to force them in at first but they do go on. It’s just really snug but I’m sure when I break it in it would be a little easier to put them on
@@nated7635 appreciate the feedback man. is it snug to the point of causing discomfort? My current flip up also gave a snug fit with my specs but has since broken in. so i could learn to live with it. Honestly it's a toss up between this and the HJC V10
How does this compare to other ECE 22.06 helmets in the price range? The LS2 Citation II and the new AGV K3 have been released and I expect more incoming.
Scorpion was good the first few years around - now they have tons of QC issues... T520 helmets - the vent covers are not glued on properly and new out of the box they are already separated from the shell... you can also see the paint/graphics flaws around any openings... just not what it used to be initially and I did have several scorpion helmets...
Hello. Why does this helmet in my store not have a DD buckle but only a micrometric one? And have only permanent ventilation in the chin section. This is older version?
How does the sizing compare to the simpson ghost bandits? Asking as my head measures to a Medium but with my Biltwell Lane splitter and Ghost bandit i can fit into a small comfortably. I'm from Australia and unfortunately cannot try this on in store as we don't stock it here
Im currently riding a scooter but I want this to be my first helmet as I’m moving to bigger cruiser bikes. My question is would this look bulky on my head ? My head is size M and I’m 5’6 tall Does the new models still come in 2 shell sizes or 3. Thanks for the review
Cardo's and Sena's fit in here just fine with the speaker pockets / spaces. We wouldn't go any larger than the 40mm speakers, but thats just from our testing of this helmet.
No, the RF-1400 is designed to be much more aerodynamic and quiet. Classic looking / auto racing styled helmets like this just have too many angles and lines that create more wind noise. Not saying this one is overly loud, but the RF-1400 is quieter by nature of the design.
@@RevZilla thank you. I’m an upright rider and it’s getting time to replace my rf-1200 that’s 9 years old. So looking for the best in that category. Year round city riding in LA weather.
@@SoCalScents I have a 1200 and tried on a Covert FX last weekend. Lived in LA for many years. This doesn't have the comfort or low speed airflow needed for weaving through traffic, even if you can lanesplit. I would get a 1400 personally or wait for Shoei to release a ECE 22.06 rated lid.
@@TreeTrunkCrabWhacka any idea if they will? I know Revzilla had an Arai this past year as their best full face helmet. My RF1200 is old but still has a little life left in it.
The Eliminator also doesn’t have active vents, so it’s always open which doesn’t seem great for colder or rainy weather riding. Also saw reviews mentioning a whistling coming from the vents due to this, so that pushed me towards the FX instead
ECE certified helmets will have a sticker on the back near the DOT sticker, then a country of origin ECE tag on the DD-ring closure on the neck as well. Both are required to make a helmet officially ECE certified.
I found this helmet had a really uncomfortable fit. Tried different-sized cheek pads and compressing the original pads and it was still painfully uncomfortable. I'm stuck with a helmet I'm not going to wear. :( Can't recommend it.
Felt like the review was rushed compared to previous helmet reviews from you guys. Didn't really provide more than an overview of the helmet this time and your videos usually show the visor being removed and reconnected. Seemed like tbe small details usually found in your reviews were not there this time. A lil disappointed on this one..but nothings perfect I guess
TBF it is an under $300 helmet from Scorpion aping the style of a Simpson or a Ruroc. Icon is doing the same thing coming out with an extremely similar new helmet with BT integration. I doubt there's a substantial bonus to either helmet except them wanting to fill a hole in the market. I'm guessing the visor is probably a pain to pop back in. 🤷♂

Looks good. My most important question. How well does it accomodate glasses?
If you have thicker acrylic frames it's a struggle. I think a thin metal frame would work but I didn't have that on hand to test.

We've found it fits very similar in size to a Lane Splitter so you may want to stick with your size in that helmet.

Nah man it’s pretty slim and sleek
What about pinlock inserts? How does this helmet resist fogging in cold weather?
it doesnt, it fogs up like a MFer in about 20 seconds

Which bluetooth headphones do you use with it? Mine is too thick for the slots given, my ears start paiining. Please recommend.

We found this Scorpion to be a bit more comfortable, but the style of the Eliminator is hard to compete against.
