Installing Honjo Mudguards | It was harder than I expected!

  • Since Wen's bike build last year, many of you had commented that it is missing a pair of fenders for the rainy days. Rest assured, I did manage to install one during late summer last year before the arrival of British wet autumn!
It became a tad sophisticated as I went all out sourcing a very raw set of Honjo mudguards that came un-drilled (no holes), stays no pre-formed and no installation manuals! I did have a moment of regret during this installation. However, I accepted the challenge and thought I should have enough practical knowledge to make it work!
It was a fine line (somewhat ambitious) to source a 45mm width fenders to fit Wen's 40mm G-One tyres, whilst expecting no rub nor sound in the end. Determining the position of the holes relative to the bike was incredibly tedious as I only had one shot to get them right!
After a day and half of head scratching and tweaking, I finally finished with it and I must say I love the shiny silver appearance of the bike and cannot stop admiring them whilst Wen rides her Tempeh on the road.
Many mistakes and lessons learnt from this installation. Let me know if you have any questions I would be happy to answer.

beatufiul editing! how are the 40c tires holding up in a 45mm fender? super tight clearances!

Yea, it was incredibly tight that the high pitch rub became prominent and frequent in the first place. I had to tweak/deform it over the first couple of months and finally settled down in peace. Not ideal to go through muddy cake terrain too. Otherwise, it has served Wen well on many wet days! ☺

Who makes the bike holder? Watching on my phone and can’t tell if it floor standing or looks more like it’s attached to your wall. Enjoy your videos.

Haha, I purposely put it between the two doors to make it symmetrical! 😉 It is a standing bike holder, the make is from Lifeline. Not sure if they produce it anymore as I struggle to find it on the internet.

Виглядає дуже гарно! Але у поле по мокрій глині і багнюці замалий кліренс все забється болотом.

Так, це правда! Ми пережили це одного разу пару тижнів тому.😆
