    Oh Eve, I love, love, love listening to you swatch the colours. And a new song at the end. It all made me smile.

      Ha ha, I wasn't sure about the tune after I uploaded it last week, but if it gets the smiles, it's a winner! 😎 Glad you enjoyed the gorgeous color swatching too Kilby! 😍

    Lol Eve. Thanks for your tune 😂❤
    I wanted to say, loved this, as always, and your delighted snorts just make my day. I have become a lover of acrylic gouache. Both Holbein and even more so, Turner and Turner Japanesque. I use them watered down for backgrounds and at full opaqueness in my illustrations on watercolour paper and even in my Pith sketchbooks, where they make the pages yummy and crunchy!
    As always, beautiful colours! "See" you soon x Nell.

    For anyone interested in using Panpastel I recommend getting the correct paper for it if you plan on doing a painting to hang on the wall. Soft pastels are not very well suited for art journals as is. You can try using fixatives but that changes the color of the finished piece and won't hold all of the pigment in place. You can use clear gesso on the paper prior to using the pastels to give the paper more tooth, but still need to protect the sketch. You can do this by placing vellum over it.

      @@eviedivadoodles Yeah no problem. I want other artists who are thinking about using soft pastels to understand the medium better. It's in my top two favs to work with, the other being watercolor. Both of these mediums have their own learning curve. I hated soft pastel 30 years ago because I didn't understand it and I'm so glad I gave it another chance!

    Really enjoyed your art haul. Your reactions are so fun! I love the antelope brown (it's addictive) and olive green too; they are in my FW collection! The red earth is in my Blick cart right now. I was so glad to see what it looks like. It's gorgeous. Loved the gouache colors. I've never used acrylic gouache. Interested to see what you think of it. Looking forward to the live and seeing how the gouache mix together when you do those videos! Have a fabulous weekend Evie!

    Loved the colours of the acrylic inks. I’m fairly new to the Acryla gouache and I love it, so hopefully you’ll enjoy playing around with them too. Nothing quite like a Jackson’s parcel arriving.

      A Jacksons parcel is the best kind. Saying that I am enjoying a (not quite) weekly walk uptown and poke around my local art shop... 👀 😆

    I prefer the sticks because it feels more like a brush and gives more control. Loved the video!

    Do you need to use a fixative with the pan pastels?

    • @eviedivadoodles
      @eviedivadoodles  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not sure. I only use them in my sketchbook for now, and I place pages or spare paper in between to take any 'dust' but because of the sponges I'm using to apply them to the page, I don't seem to get any dust... but I will double check for you later!

    Hello Evie - I sent you a message somewhere... maybe email or message??? Did you receive it... We are speaking in Groningen in July. Would love you to come. - Ahhhh the colours are truly yummy - the Holbein seems a bit splotchy but I like all the flavors and such... Thanks for doing it. Hope to see you..!!!
