Thanks for the video on the topic. I have a very strong opinion about that Watchgecko Tropical rubber strap: of all the watch straps I've ever owned, it's my favorite. I have a drawer full of straps for my Speedmaster Pro, including three OEM straps, and since I put the Watchgecko Tropical strap on several months ago, I haven't taken it off. I have an SKX013 on order, and I don't know if the look of the Tropical strap is quite the look I want for it, but after having had an NBR rubber strap like the Tropical, I'll never go back to silicone rubber. For all of it's pleasant qualities, silicone rubber is a lint magnet.
Does anyone know if the sea urchin and skx straps are interchangeable? Crafter blue is selling straps for the skx and I’m worried that it won’t fit on my sea urchin...
Just saw this comment. Another watch reviewer said you can damage the lug holes in the Seiko divers if you have the smaller ends on normal spring bars. Uncle Seiko told me via email that you can order the normal sized spring bars with large ends if you indicate this the the “instructions” part of the order. I got these special spring bars and they fit perfectly in my Seiko diver lug holes. I have the Turtle and the Tuna Padi Pepsi divers.
Great video! Could u pls let me know how long the tropic strap is in total length? Does it fit small wrist like mine ? My wrist is 5.75''inches. Regards
have you tried crafter blue strap? Is it worth the premium price for having the ends fitted to the skx lug thickness? It does look nice in pictures as the ends filled all the void gap but I wonder whether will the comfort be the same as barton or it will be more stiffer.
I would never put a 3rd party rubber strap on my SKX. It’s treason. The original rubber strap is what makes the watch look great. I live in a hot tropical climate. Absolutely no comfort issues with the Seiko strap. People always find something to complain about.
A video that had to be made to be honest! This is one of my favorite combos! To be specific the accordion 🪗 style from the 80s! So comfy
Uncle Seiko GL831 recommended. Comes in 2 lengths. Best I've tried out of half a dozen rubber straps.
Thanks for the video on the topic.

and vs uncle seiko?
how can you use 20mm strap on a 22mm lug size watch?/ i wanna order some strap for mine but kinda confused..
i can't remove the original z22 ... but what spring bar does it have?
Mine is SKX 009 , should i get the 20mm or 22mm strap?
Great video thanks. Very informative and resolved my dilemma perfectly.
You should talk about the types of rubber used and their various pros and cons. For example nitrile is stiffer but more durable than silicone.
Uncle Seiko curved end waffle strap is the best fitting imo
I have a tropical watch strap and a shed load of others i put it on my steel dive lookalike turtle apocalypse captain Willard watch love it
Page and cooper have superb rubber divers strap s...I have an orange one on my seiko automatic diver
Does anyone know if the sea urchin and skx straps are interchangeable? Crafter blue is selling straps for the skx and I’m worried that it won’t fit on my sea urchin...
If you're not going to use a NATO strap then it's best to get a band that uses Seiko fat pins for extra security. I recommend Uncle Seiko watch bands.
Does crafter blu watch strap fit for skx013?
The first thing I seemed to notice is the lack of appreciation for the word toughness and what it means for reliability
very informative! Thanks!
Why is the plastic still on the back of the case?
To stop the watch getting scuffed!
I currently have 3 of my watches on Barton Elite straps and I can't really imagine getting a better strap for 20 bucks
@@OffTheCuffUK What size is your wrist?
Do they take thicc spring-bars?
Apparently, the Bartons Springs bars are thinner than the original Seiko Skx? Do they fit perfectly or is there a gap in the fit?

i have a few barton silicone straps there good.. also few archer silicone straps all so good... cheers
How are the barton straps holding up?
Great video!
Could u pls let me know how long the tropic strap is in total length?
Does it fit small wrist like mine ? My wrist is 5.75''inches.
Regards
Are they all silicone straps?
What’s your wrist size
I couldn't see using a strap that doesn't accept the Seiko Thick Spring Bars.
Crafter Blue are the best for SKX007 if cool with paying £40-60.
I’d much rather have the thicker rubber strap with a big watch. A skinny one just doesn’t make sense. I like the original.

So the skx007 takes a 20mm strap? Or it is because it’s a rubber strap?
The 007 takes a 22mm strap. Maybe the 013 takes a 20mm strap.

The tropical strap is nicer!
Its beutifull this way as well
It will cost $65. But the curved end, integrated Crafter Blue can’t be beat.
Crafter blue sraps are nice but only for people with slender wrists. They are very, very short.
The stock rubber strap made by seiko is very confortable and if you think otherwise you dont deserve it
Joao Antonio r u mad?
First, you shouldn‘t wear your watches with stock plastic on the backside. Second, bracelets are and look much better than rubber straps, imho.
The reasons you like these skinny bands is Because your arm is so small...
