A late tribute to the nation's first elected President
the late Mr Ong Teng Cheong⚰️🇸🇬 (22.01.1936-08.02.2002) a well gifted musician, architect and politician who served 6 years as Singapore's 5th President from 1993 to 1999..
He made so many contributions to Singapore especially coming up with the iconic MRT system in 1987 and launched the President's Star Charity in 1994.
When he died on this very day in 2002, he did not have a state funeral because it was too close to Chinese New Year..

President Ong Teng Cheong is a quiet intelligent n former PAP member. He had contributed alots of his services to the development of Singapore for the people. He had made an important suggestions to our reserves saving without jeopardizing our expenditures in other areas. He is a man of honour n loyal to Singapore. He is one of the respectable president being selected for his duty to Singapore. I am fully admire his obligations as a president of Singapore.
