I used to live in Arcadia and played Santa Anita a lot. Old school course for sure. People look at the score card and think it’s a nothing course, but it has a lot of texture to it. You can go low for sure, but there are a lot of trees and the greens are tricky and many are elevated so you can’t see all the pins. Great review of a local SoCal muni course!
Erik, I think the reason we like these course Vlogs so much is because you're one of the most relatable golf TH-camrs. Just like a lot of us you fell in love with this game later on in life and haven't looked back. You're transparent with your bad shots just as much as your good ones. I watch these right before I hit the course. Keep up the good work buddy.
We appreciate that you show us every shot "naked", although thankfully not in the literal sense of the word. Golf is an incredibly humbling game and showing us the highs & the lows is a key component.
I play here every Thursday for the last ten years...so cool to see it on You tube. Really fun course. Lots of contours on fairways, elevated greens, no water, but errant drives are punished with trees. We love our home course! Thanks for these videos!
I played this course for my High School matches VS Arcadia and San Marino... Elevated greens but very short and no hazards. Impossible to lose a ball here!
The thing I really enjoy about EAL and these vlogs is that he shows us the good and the bad throughout his game, and it makes for really relatable and entertaining content.
I know you questioned that chip shot where you and the ball were out of frame but I actually think that that kind of view works there, we can track the ball almost the entire way. On other chip shots your ball disappears over the fringe, though obviously that's where the commentary comes into play. That being said another awesome video, definitely like the format.
Really digging the graphics! Adding the pin location off the tee shot is incredibly helpful and should be standard on all course vlogs. Nice work Erik!
Thanks, man. It's both intimidating and fun to film. At least this time around I had an idea of what I was getting into as opposed to the first edition at Rustic Canyon.
@@RandomGolfClubFilms It really is great content to have. I'm actually deployed overseas and it been a minute since I've been able to get onto a course. Shows like yours keep really help us get through those droughts, especially now with what's going on in the world. Keep it up! You are spreading the love of the game to the next generation.
I respect how your starting to put yourself out there with the "break 90?" videos and now with these course vlogs, it is almost like humanizing yourself showing us not only your great skill, but your mistakes making you more relatable to your fans. I commend you for making yourself vulnerable and showing us that your just another golfer just like us, one leg at a time, thanks erik.
These are the best forms of golf content out there, especially when you're familiar with the courses and it takes you back, or if you've never played it before and get an idea of what it's like. That's motivating then to go play it. Please continue making these ...
This was the Bishop Amat HS home course for my entire high school golf career; I’ve played in numerous regions/countries since then -yet this is the epitome of LA County Public Links Golf
Really like this format. Played 9 last night and I can relate to your commentary of what you plan to do and what actually happens. Long live the scramble par!
Thanks for making such an incredible video, Erik. I watch this episode every time I get home sick, because it reminds me of when I play Santa Anita with my Dad. Amazing work, keep it up!
I love the fact that you record these on your iPhone. I absolutely love tech, and it's simply incredible to me that a vast majority of people have a piece of equipment in their pockets, at all times, that can record video of this quality. It's insane. Thanks for another super high quality video Erik. Love your content.
Love these course vlogs Erik! Keep them coming please. Even if you shot 100 I’d still watch. It’s about your commentary and your willingness to show us every shot
Great video EAL! It’s always good to see that even low handicappers have there 3 putts too! Love the commentary and being able to hear insight on how to approach each hole.
Since I have started following you my philosophy on golf has totally changed. I embrace the opportunity to play and meet cool people along the way and stopped setting unrealistic expectations that takes the fun out of it. Keep up the good work and keep releasing merch, I need something to spend money on during quarantine!
I loved the shot tracer in this video. The commentary was spot on and absolutely great. Btw on hole 6, the 303 yd. drive was something else; your swing looked awesome. Keep it up.
As a certified arborist, I appreciate all the great footage you captured at Santa Anita! But seriously, thanks again for the vlogs. I like the new format.
Viewing from Kansas where it's currently raining and I tossed out my back a week ago while staying at home/social distancing working in the yard, thus no actual golf being played now for several days. Pandemic sucks, but sucks even worse with a bad back. Respect the back everyone. Thanks for the awesome Vlog of this round at what looks like a hidden gem of a muni. Love the ball tracker on every shot!! Looking forward to the back 9.
Love the video format, remember that most of us watching you make the same mistakes and shots that you make. Your videos "GOLF IS: An Opportunity" and "Watch This Before You Play Golf" changed the way I looked at golf. Thank you and keep it up!!!
You could break par or fail to break 100 and these would still be a fantastic watch. You talk about the course and it's design/layout, what you're thinking, what you would do differently, and it really shows your love for the game.
I appreciate that in a way that is really meaningful. I tend to feel caught up with wanting to perform and entertain. But I never said I was a great golfer - so thank you for being ok with that.
Awesome. Also in Los Angeles, I have been golfing for a year now and nice to see and encouraging to see I shouldn’t be to worried we all hit thin at times. Thanks for the inspiration to keep on trucking.
Love the honesty with which you commentate , sometimes laced with irony. Enjoyed the vlog, look forward to catching up with others you have done. It’s good to see these videos reflect the way us mere mortals struggle to cope with the trails of golf.
I love these course vlogs. It’s reassuring to see someone with a great swing, plays with great golfers and a lot of course experience openly admit his play struggles. Golf is humbling and hard, but so worth it... even for 1 out of 18 holes. And good players top it too 🤣
Great vlog man! Commentary is awesome. Course vlogs are tough.. Trying to play your best golf, vlog every shot, keep up with pace of play... Super tough. Thanks for taking us with you. I've done my fair share of course vlogs and at times they really do ruin ur gane and make you feel very rushed!
I love watching you play and hear what you’re thinking about. And when I play golf and playing bad I legit think “ what would Erik do...” and that just calms me down
This is so much more helpful to the average player than watching pros just get around in level par. Still high level golf but with the same occasional bad strike that we all wrestle with, not to mention the mental battle.
As a long time subscriber I have always loved your different approach to golf and golf content. However these last few course vlogs have been truly classy, excellently produced and a great insight to your personal experience on the course, cheers Eric
Love this- i havent been able to play, but i love how real this is. We all hit bad shots, we all hit good shots, and I love seeing these courses i'll likely never play
Amazing that you’re new to doing the course vlog thing. These are literally the best. From the editing and graphics to the great and humorous commentary. Really the best. Great job and keep these coming.
Love the video, love the format, love the commentary. Just a relaxing and entertaining video. Keep up the good work and if you don't succeed in this line of work you can easily get a work at a radio station, your voice is so smooth and nice to listen to.
Love what you are doing. All of it. Keep inspiring us to go low with crunchy drives and smooth rolls. Looking forward to supporting the cause with a purchase of your forthcoming range finder. 🤙
You’re a talented writer and narrator, and are excellent at filming. Your love for the game shines through every spoken word and every frame. I love your content, man!
I love your course vlogs because it shows that even though you have a lower handicap than a lot of us, you still have to grind every round. Its encouraging to know that even though the scorecard might be different at the end of the round, golf is a battle for everyone
I was just thinking to myself while watching the Bale video, “man I wish Erik would do some course vlogs.” Completely oblivious to the fact that three had already come out. Fantastic videos Erik!
EAL, I don't think I could possibly enjoy these anymore. Love the format, graphics, and all that goes into it. Fun to hear you repeat some similar thoughts that all golfers have! lol
Loving these course vlogs. Heading off for a 5.16pm tee off today. We have uncharacteristic LA weather in England at the moment so a cool evening round is just the ticket.
Erik, I’m playing the highest elevated golf course in the country today in Colorado. My Massive golf course. I’ll let you know how it goes, may be a new bucket list course
I know it's tough to shake the innate pressure that comes with showing each shot, but know that there is more endearment and relatability in your descent into madness than there is amusement. Loved the mysterious aspect of a muni course that you've never played too- for so many of us, its commonplace at the $30 and under courses with airation holes, mismatched rough, sprinklers in the middle of your round. That said, I know you don't play for score; well, we don't watch for score either sir. Keep on keepin on my man.
I’d love to see Erik commentate some pga tour events. He has a good golf voice
I read this as he hit a wood out of the rough 40 yards doesn’t carry 3 wood and beats up a muni, he is a shoe in
Eliot is a BEAST at editing. Really like his work.
He is next level!
Was really cool to see a course vlog on a "normal" course. I can see myself playing here so it was definitely a fun change of pace!
I used to live in Arcadia and played Santa Anita a lot. Old school course for sure. People look at the score card and think it’s a nothing course, but it has a lot of texture to it. Yes!!! My Dad, Grandpa, and I used to play this course every Saturday morning. Back nine special for $22 waking. Love it!
Remember these well, probs seen you out there
I played this course for my High School matches VS Arcadia and San Marino... Elevated greens but very short and no hazards. Impossible to lose a ball here!
Honestly, clicked on it thinking I would NOT like this. Next thing I knew, I had been watching for 20 mins. Great vid. Man those greens are brutal.
greens don't look too bad, slope wise. they were just running slow so he needed to adjust
The thing I really enjoy about EAL and these vlogs is that he shows us the good and the bad throughout his game, and it makes for really relatable and entertaining content.

Thanks Erik! I love these videos! makes me feel like I'm on the course with you.

Week straight of rain down here in Nashville, TN. Thanks for making it feel like I’m out on the course!
These course vlogs have a professional yet very personal feel about them. Cheers Erik, keep up the good work
Easily my favorite golf channel on TH-cam, always providing us with crisp, entertaining content that is just plain enjoyable to watch. Keep it up
Didn’t think I’d enjoy EAL’s channel more than I already do and then he started making these course vlogs... thanks EAL!
These are the best forms of golf content out there, especially when you're familiar with the courses and it takes you back, or if you've never played it before and get an idea of what it's like. That's motivating then to go play it. Please continue making these ...
that shot tracker is doooope
I've watched 1000s of course vlogs on TH-cam over the years, and you Mr. EAL are the master of them. Can't wait for the back 9.
Erik, the shot tracers on this video are some of the best I've ever seen!!! More course vlogs Please !!!
Can’t wait for part two man. Watching these videos gets me fired up to play. It’s been the best way to keep a level head during these weird times.
This was the Bishop Amat HS home course for my entire high school golf career; I’ve played in numerous regions/countries since then -yet this is the epitome of LA County Public Links Golf

Thanks for making such an incredible video, Erik. I watch this episode every time I get home sick, because it reminds me of when I play Santa Anita with my Dad. Amazing work, keep it up!
These videos are really relaxing for me. I think it’s your melodic and dulcet tone of voice.
I love the fact that you record these on your iPhone. I absolutely love tech, and it's simply incredible to me that a vast majority of people have a piece of equipment in their pockets, at all times, that can record video of this quality. It's insane. Love these course vlogs Erik! Keep them coming please. Even if you shot 100 I’d still watch. It’s about your commentary and your willingness to show us every shot
commentary really brings these course vlogs home
I like seeing all shots because you show all the good and bad shots and that is what golf is about and we all have good and bad shots
👍
These are really so great, not only for playing tips, but your valuable insight into the mental side of the game. Love it
Great video EAL! It’s always good to see that even low handicappers have there 3 putts too! Love the commentary and being able to hear insight on how to approach each hole.
Thanks for the shout out early in the video. Played ahead of you at Soule Park last week, hope you enjoyed it. Would be a great course for a vlog.
Really loving the Vlogs. Including the self-critique at times! This is the golf content I love.
Since I have started following you my philosophy on golf has totally changed. I embrace the opportunity to play and meet cool people along the way and stopped setting unrealistic expectations that takes the fun out of it. Keep up the good work and keep releasing merch, I need something to spend money on during quarantine!
Watching your videos has definitely improved my golf game. I am now at the point where I can hit the ball almost as far as I throw my clubs.
white shot tracer looking clean as usual. great course vlog E
Everytime I watch your video's I book a tie time to get out there myself! Thank YOU
Great video Erik (and Elliot).
Glad to see you taken on some advice from your previous Course Vlog vid.
Clicked so fast on this video. Play here all the time so stoked you played here Erik. Big fan keep making great content
Love this format. Gives so much good vibes and energy to just play more whatever the result of the game is. Play your shot and move on to the next.
I loved the shot tracer in this video. The commentary was spot on and absolutely great. Btw on hole 6, the 303 yd. drive was something else; your swing looked awesome. Keep it up.
Thanks man! There’s one on the back nine that was fun
As a certified arborist, I appreciate all the great footage you captured at Santa Anita! But seriously, thanks again for the vlogs. I like the new format.
Honestly, playing bad is something to learn from. And you didn’t even play that bad. Keep up the good vids I love them so much.
This format of video is absolutely fantastic, love the shot tracer and commentary
Please do this more. LOVE IT.
Stumbled on these shot for shot videos and will be watching them all, so kuch fun watching the casual rounds!
Really enjoying the new ‘warts and all’ vlogs. Great to listen to how you plot your way around the course.
These videos are fantastic! Great work. Your follow-lines, commentary and filming are second to none.
Viewing from Kansas where it's currently raining and I tossed out my back a week ago while staying at home/social distancing working in the yard, thus no actual golf being played now for several days. Love the ball tracker on every shot!! Looking forward to the back 9.
Love Santa Anita. Was born down the street at Methodist Hospital. No longer live in CA, but was the course I learned the game on. Good stuff.
Love the video format, remember that most of us watching you make the same mistakes and shots that you make. Your videos "GOLF IS: An Opportunity" and "Watch This Before You Play Golf" changed the way I looked at golf. Thank you and keep it up!!!

Definitely carving out your own lane in the course vlogs. And love seeing tracks that we can actually play.
Love the honesty with which you commentate , sometimes laced with irony. Enjoyed the vlog, look forward to catching up with others you have done. It’s good to see these videos reflect the way us mere mortals struggle to cope with the trails of golf.

Course vlogs are tough.. Trying to play your best golf, vlog every shot, keep up with pace of play... Super tough.
Thanks for taking us with you.
I've done my fair share of course vlogs and at times they really do ruin ur gane and make you feel very rushed!
A lot to learn from you in regards to how calm you stay when things don't go your way! (Aside from the out of character club drop lol) Keep em coming!
I'm really loving the style of your course vlogs. These 20 minutes just flew by and I can't wait for the back nine. Keep up the fantastic work, Erik!
We need more videos like these!
I love watching you play and hear what you’re thinking about. And when I play golf and playing bad I legit think “ what would Erik do...” and that just calms me down

Just played this course with a few friends after seeing the vlog and absolutely loved it. Thanks for doing these EAL
As a long time subscriber I have always loved your different approach to golf and golf content. However these last few course vlogs have been truly classy, excellently produced and a great insight to your personal experience on the course, cheers Eric
Looking forward to part 2, these are really fun to watch. Keep up the great work EAL team!
Love all of your work. Your delivery with commentary, style, and wealth of golf knowledge is impressive. Coolest golf vlogger on the tube. 😎
Best course vlog on TH-cam. Way to go EAL
Love the flag above the actual flag, thanks Eliot 🤟
"like water in the desert"
yeah..... golf one of the few reprieves we have right now. thanks for sharing your round Erik. loving these.
"On my way to a 3 putt... really a bad example of my putting ability"
Relatable
EAL, I’ve played this course many many times, BUT I never dissected it like you. Great videos and I’m loving the “every shot” vlogs 👍🏼 🏌️
Looks so much like Golf Sidekick's vids

We all have our bad days on the field and on the course. But you bear'd down and got through it. Great video again man. Keep that spirit alive
always enjoy the these every shot videos! Inspire me to get out and go play with more motivation and enjoy my round even more!
Fun to hear you repeat some similar thoughts that all golfers have! lol
Thank you so much for posting this. I love these vids
I need your voice in my head on the course... Relaxing...I’m sure would help with club/shot selection!
loving the vlogs, making me think differently about how i approach my rounds now, keep them coming
This is exactly what I want to do. I love the insight you give during each hole. Can’t wait for more!!!
This is my home course. Love that you played here. The greens are normally much faster. They just punched them not too long ago.
This editing is to die for >>
The flag marker on the edit was a great touch, I had a hard time seeing the flag in the last video. Awesome video
Loving these course vlogs. Heading off for a 5.16pm tee off today. We have uncharacteristic LA weather in England at the moment so a cool evening round is just the ticket.
These are amazing! Love walking the course with ya Erik
These course vlogs really make me want to play golf!
Very well put together, love the voice overs and love the course vlogs!!!
Thanks Eric, love the videos, cant wait to see the back 9!
Erik, I’m playing the highest elevated golf course in the country today in Colorado. My Massive golf course. I’ll let you know how it goes, may be a new bucket list course
