Yeah, it works with photos also! And about slog you mean in camera right ? Yeah, the gamma is just a display option, but the file is recorded with the profile you choose.

Thank you for the review! I'm using a Sony a7 iii camera for video mainly. I see in the compatabilty chart that my camera does NOT support what they're calling; "Camera Content Access'. I can't find the definition of that in the user manual. Any idea what that specific function is? What I'm really looking for is to be able to see my MENU Settings as well as Metering Mode settings which are normally at the bottom of the LCD screen on the camera (ex: Shutter Speed, F-Stop Settings, Metering Mode setting , and ISO normally all show at the bottom). Ideally it just reflects exactly what is normally in the camera LCD. I'm just having a terrible time seeing all my setting when shooting outdoors in BRIGHT SUNLIGHT (which seems to be a lot lately). Did find a setting in t he menu for 'Monitor Brightness' which I can set to "Sunny Weather' but even that's not enough for some of the shoots I'm doing.
Hi ! I was using also with the A7III, there's even another video on the channel showing how it works with that one, but basically if you need it for the settings you're good to go. It shows them all on the bottom and you can control on the app itself !

Hmmm quite strange, i'd recommend you putting the phone in airplane mode, turning off bluetooth, and trying again to see if something else might be impacting it. But in theory, recording or not it should keep the amount of frames per second without issues.

Yes! But you need the input on the phone to be OTG, so the cable has to support tha. On their website you can check the detailed cable recommendations !

It should be there, in mine you can see that the focus white square is positioned on the eye or face of the person. Check your settings display, but it should be there! Which camera you're using ?

Is it possible to shoot vertically with the app? Mine, when I turn the camera to a vertical position (with the cell phone in "standing"/"stories" format), the view on the cell phone is in portrait mode, that is, it loses all the advantage of using the cell phone as an external monitor , and in addition the cell phone image is the opposite of the camera image. Is there any way to fix this?
The only thing I noticed is that sometimes it flips upside down at the beginning, so I need to enable and disable the rotation, and then it turns right. The controls keep being on the sides in this case (when it's vertical I mean).
Whatever works between your camera and phone, usually on the Sony's side it will be USB-C, on your phone side it can be USB-C, Micro USB, Lightning, depends !
Ahhh Sony has these things, if something is grey it's because something else is blocking it. Search on their website for this specific thing, but usually it has to do with Ctrl with Smartphone being active also, or something along these lines. The moment you deactivate the option blocking it, you'll be able to choose it.
Depends on each phone's battery, but it's basically screen on time that will dictate. Just remember to turn off the power supply on the camera, otherwise it will suck the battery from the phone to keep the camera on.
I used to love this app. The wireless feature used to work SO WELL in this app. One update later it became the most buggy app ever. Now I just use it with the USB cable. Works but kinda buggy sometimes.

Hi! In theory you only need the USB cable, depending on the phone and the camera porta, but if monitor plus doesn't work you can try UsB camera Pro, as it allows you to have at least an external monitor on the phone. But monitor Plus is definitely better!!

Definitely works and gives you a lot of useful extra features ! If you want something simples you can check USB Camera Pro, I've got a video on it too. But all it does is to mirror the camera screen onto your phone, and you need a HDMI cable and an adapter to make it work. In this case whatever USB-C cable to whatever USB or Lightning your phone uses will do the trick !
I can't get this to work on my ZVE-10, yet on the app page it says it's compatible? Edit: it works. The camera keeps switching on the smartphone connection, but I've managed to make it work. If I get a few weeks of consistent performance I'll buy the app.

Tried the paid version of the app with a Sony alpha 7 iv. And was facing a problem: a few shots were totally out of focus although the app's peaking function claimed that it was clearly in focus. But as mentioned earlier: the shots were that much out of focus as it never happens to me. Any idea?
The Sony's advantage seems to be the Creator's App, which allows you to receive the image on an iPad and perfectly manage the focus with an assistant with a lens that of course works in autofocus or manual mode with an internal motor, so there's no need to add an external motor. I can't find the Panasonic equivalent anywhere.
And the current Creator's app is muchhh better than the previous Imaging Edge, they really improved it ! But for extra functions, this app is still better !
I was hoping this would allow me to use my a7iv to stream to tiktok from my phone. Is that not an option? Does anyone know a way of accomplishing this?
Ahhh I'm not sure about the 6400 but in the A7III was like that also. You'd lose the face autofocus and the stabilization. There was no way out. On the A7IV I have now it all works. There's a compatibility chart on their website you can check it there :D
Hi Charlie ! If you're on a tripod, there are some dummy batteries that can keep the camera charged. If you're using the wireless feature, you could power the camera and the phone with a power bank.

I tested the app with my A7 IV, it works great, but I don't have on my phone the square around the face/the eye for autofocus face tracking. @@FlyEnri I tried it today! The only significant problem that i have is that when recording 24p, monitor + has 24 fps and it is really great, but when i change it to 30p, my monitor+ frame rate drops to around 15fps. Do you maybe know why?
It's possible to overlay any image you'd like, but it doesn't do like some apps that update the overlay with the previously taken image. You'll have to shoot, save and then reimport the image as overlay, not practical I guess.

Hi !! You'd like the screen to flip vertical you mean ? It acts like the LCD on the camera, it won't flip vertical like that ! But if you have a support for the phone, that allows you to rotate it, you could do that !
On their website the compatibility list says "iOS: All iPhones or iPads with iOS 13 or higher installed". So probably yours will be ok! You can download the free version and try it out !

@@FlyEnri There is no log in anywhere. When I open it on my iPad all the pro features are locked.. But not on my iPhone.. And their site is really horrible as far as finding information.. The other bummer is no where did it say when I bought it that it is for only one device. But the worst part is it there is no information anywhere how to switch between devices.. On apple or at least on my Pro version on my phone there is NO log in to anything, when I click on the generic "profile" icon it just says I can use the Pro version bc I purchased it...

Huge advantage for important stuff is this really, strong HDMI cable, ProRes recording etc. Here when we do concerts, festivals etc, where cameras are on tripod etc we use the Atomos's also. But for people on the ground, running around we are using the Monitor Plus ! :D

Yeah, no matter what I try, this won't work for me. The "PC Remote Function/PC Remote" is greyed out. When I hit "ok" it says "This operation or setting not available as follows" and then shows "Wi-Fi Connect" in grey and "Off" in white. When I connect my A74 to my phone, Monitor+ detects my camera, but keeps giving me a connection error and timing out.
Sony cameras are like this, sometimes one setting blocks the others, so you need to change the source of the issue. In your case looks like WiFi Connect is active, so you need to go there and deactivate it first. Done that, retry and this time PC Remote should be available, if not it will say what's the new problem. Continue and repeat until all issues are solved and it will work !

You can control the focus by making it manual and using the focus peaking, would that be helpful ?

A normal USB-C cable will do ! It just needs to be capable of transferring data !

The same app works wirelessly also, but it's just too slow, I don't want to recommend, so I didn't even focus on it here on this video.
How is the stabilization for video with the monitor, or rather, does the Sony stabilization work+? I have a Sony zv-e1.
Their FAQ says this: "For A7S II, A7 III, A7R III: IBIS is not available, other models do not have this limitation." So I suppose the ZV-E1 is safe !

Tried the paid version of the app with a Sony alpha 7 iv. And was facing a problem: a few shots were totally out of focus although the app's peaking function claimed that it was clearly in focus. But as mentioned earlier: the shots were that much out of focus as it never happens to me. Any idea?
Oh it's also the one I use here. I didn't have problems with the focus like this, the peaking works quite well.

The Sony's advantage seems to be the Creator's App, which allows you to receive the image on an iPad and perfectly manage the focus with an assistant with a lens that of course works in autofocus or manual mode with an internal motor, so there's no need to add an external motor. I can't find the Panasonic equivalent anywhere.
And the current Creator's app is muchhh better than the previous Imaging Edge, they really improved it ! But for extra functions, this app is still better !
I was hoping this would allow me to use my a7iv to stream to tiktok from my phone. Is that not an option? Does anyone know a way of accomplishing this?

To use the app you need to enable PC Remote, right? And then Face detection stops working... Any ideas how to enable it? A6400 here.
Ahhh I'm not sure about the 6400 but in the A7III was like that also. You'd lose the face autofocus and the stabilization. There was no way out. On the A7IV I have now it all works. There's a compatibility chart on their website you can check it there :D

Hi Charlie ! If you're on a tripod, there are some dummy batteries that can keep the camera charged. If you're using the wireless feature, you could power the camera and the phone with a power bank.

I tested the app with my A7 IV, it works great, but I don't have on my phone the square around the face/the eye for autofocus face tracking. It appears on my camera, but not on the app. Do you know why and how to display it by any chance ? It would be nice to be sure the face tracking works.

It's possible to overlay any image you'd like, but it doesn't do like some apps that update the overlay with the previously taken image. You'll have to shoot, save and then reimport the image as overlay, not practical I guess.
@@FlyEnri no there is a way you can just tap a button and just grab whatever the camera is seeing. No need to import an image every time.

Hi !! You'd like the screen to flip vertical you mean ? It acts like the LCD on the camera, it won't flip vertical like that ! But if you have a support for the phone, that allows you to rotate it, you could do that !
App not only works with sony camera, it worked on my sigma fp via c to c as well with lesser latency than sony, but only at 1080p

It works with my a6400 and a6700. Just looking the best smartphone for this i.e long battery life, accurate screen, and higher ram.
I'm always using Oppo phones, battery lasts long enough and if you need to recharge they are at 65W and up, super fast :p

On their website the compatibility list says "iOS: All iPhones or iPads with iOS 13 or higher installed". So probably yours will be ok! You can download the free version and try it out !

Hi! I had trouble also trying to use in 2 at the same time, I had to log out from one and log in from the other to manage, but the license wouldn't allow me to be connected with both !

Oh that's strange, I've only tested with Android. When you try to login in the new device what happens ?
@@FlyEnri There is no log in anywhere. When I open it on my iPad all the pro features are locked.. But not on my iPhone.. And their site is really horrible as far as finding information.. The other bummer is no where did it say when I bought it that it is for only one device. But the worst part is it there is no information anywhere how to switch between devices.. On apple or at least on my Pro version on my phone there is NO log in to anything, when I click on the generic "profile" icon it just says I can use the Pro version bc I purchased it...

Hi, thanks a lot for the feedback! Yes, the a6700 is compatible ! And so far, I've seen that the phone actually charges the camera, if you have the USB Charge option on, I'm not sure there's a way to do the opposite, but would be great!

Think it's very handy as a back up with the zvE1, if anything does happen with an SD card(it never does) i could use topaz to upscale anyway if needed and I'd be saved.

A perfect solution for self projects but for client work I'm gonna stick with my recorder & ProRes
Huge advantage for important stuff is this really, strong HDMI cable, ProRes recording etc. Here when we do concerts, festivals etc, where cameras are on tripod etc we use the Atomos's also. But for people on the ground, running around we are using the Monitor Plus ! :D

Does It Work With Canon Cameras

Yeah, no matter what I try, this won't work for me. The "PC Remote Function/PC Remote" is greyed out. When I hit "ok" it says "This operation or setting not available as follows" and then shows "Wi-Fi Connect" in grey and "Off" in white. When I connect my A74 to my phone, Monitor+ detects my camera, but keeps giving me a connection error and timing out.
Sony cameras are like this, sometimes one setting blocks the others, so you need to change the source of the issue. In your case looks like WiFi Connect is active, so you need to go there and deactivate it first. Done that, retry and this time PC Remote should be available, if not it will say what's the new problem. Continue and repeat until all issues are solved and it will work !
Do you know how to stop downloading images automatically?
In the Settings you can set it to on or off !
