Hello, I currently have the R5. the output power is perfect for me so not to weak or strong and i really don't need it to resist more or be stronger. I road race mostly, I-racing Asseto. My question is since you have had both.... If I purchased the r12 and turned down the strength so its not so hard. Would I benefit from better road and wheel/tire and cornering and slip feedback? Would I feel more than on the R5? Again I really don't need it to be stronger as I have back injuries from the military and and is difficult to fight the wheel at high levels. Well have a good one and look forward to your opinion.
@@WasabiPeame hello 👋 I did notice the R12 has more road texture details and felt more immersive than the r5 but in terms of all the other feedback like wheel slip I would say the r5 has it all. I would just focus on better pedals those are gonna make you faster.
I have R5 and usually play 4 hours with GS V2P wheel, with max torque at about 80% in ACC. Measured external base temperature with infrared thermometer and it reported about 34 degrees. Closely if you use max torque with heavier wheel in a heavy steering discipline like rally the temps will be higher but nothing to worry about. The ones that overheat are from people that think playing at max torque and having to fight with all their strength he wheel is the way to go. That's just wrong and of course it push the hardware to the limit but cars usually don't work like that.
It’s a good thing you did because for some reason, the R9 is not compatible with the SRP light pedals

@@WasabiPeame oh and I usually run my base at %60 gain or less. So it feels like the r5 but with more pronounced bumps.
Hello ! Have you felt any loss of power when the engine heats up? This goes for the R5 and R12.
No I haven’t felt any loss of power on either of the bases and I usually play 3-4 hours per session on max strength.
