    You didn't address what I really wanted to know: is either app able to sync to other devices? Do they copy graphics as well as text? My research continues, wish this video had been more thorough...

    Dotto... I used to watch your channel every so often and thought, wow cool! Today I had a coworker ask me to enhance their tech game. I shot straight to your channel for trusted advice and then realized, heck, I should subscribe!
    Thanks for always finding the coolest little tips for us. I feel like a tech wizard!
    Anyways, the problem now is that I can't convince everyone I work with that these tools are secure. If there was a way to show the nonbelievers that these little tools won't steal all of our information, I think they would be more eager to try things out. Let me know what you think :)

    Wondering how safe a clipboard manager tool is in general. I'd like to use one for pasting in long master pass word phrases that I have to do daily to load Keepass. Keepass uses copy and paste functions itself. Since I'm on Linux, might be safer doing that than it would be on Windows.

    Any idea on when/if PopClip will ever have a Windows version made? It looks super useful!

    • @DevoFamily

      Try ClipClip (clipclip.com). It has even more features.

  • @WolvenSpectre
    @WolvenSpectre 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For those looking for a Windows version of the functionality I use ArsClip. More of a learning curve for full functionallity, but has more features. If you are very privacy minded I suggest putting a password to launch the program so when your Clipboard Manager and all the history of your clips tries to run, no one can easily read them.

      You are welcome. There used to be 3 big free maintained Clipboard Managers, but now there is just ArsClip and a bunch of new commers I haven't tried yet. You might also want to look at some of these too and find the one that is right for you.

    CopyClip v1.9 keyboard commands (Cmd+0, 1, etc) aren't actually pasting from the clipboards.. any idea how to solve this?

    • @amightysailingman
      @amightysailingman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clicking on a selection in the menu or using the keyboard shortcut doesn't actually do the pasting. It just copies it into the clipboard. You then have to do the paste function manually after that with command-V. Rather a pain in the neck. The late, lamented Clipmenu pasted immediately on selection, but that utility has been abandoned by its developer.

      With ClipClip you can get this functionality as well as shared templates which can be stored on Google Drive f.i. so you have a knowledge base which is available within any other application. Saves me a ton of time with my team.

    I love Popclip and I use it every day. I'd love it if it would fire when you select text using the keyboard though. I think my main use is changing case in text and searching the web for text I've highlighted. I've been looking for a clipboard manager. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to go and download Poppyclip 😉 now.

    Check ArsClip at www.joejoesoft.com/cms/showpage.php
    Besides saving latest in the clipboard, it lets you save text chains frequently used (Name, street address, state, phone number, etc.) and helps big on filling forms. And it's free.

      Ctrl-C Ctrl-V is good enough for me. I don't need 100 specialized websites/programs/tools to make me more productive. I'm only subscribed because 1-10 of the 100 I see you talk about, might actually make me more productive. And that's worth it to me. But a shiny Copy Paste program? I'd rather see more intensive videos than a whole exhaustive list of videos talking about everything and everything under the sun. I geek out over much of this, just the same as you, and I love many of your videos. But I'd much rather understand the process of becoming more productive. To put it bluntly but concisely, I'd rather see videos that help me understand how to use the BEST productivity tools per your judgment. I see you as the one who's suppose to sift through the noise of 100's of programs for me, and not inform me of the 100's of programs. I have no way of understanding if you think this is something worthwhile? Is it? IDK. Would I loose productivity learning how to work 100 productivity tools? I think that would be a clear yes.

      Hi Craig, I learned about PopClip from a video Steve did last year (I think it was last year). I immediately derived productivity benifits from using it. Today, as a physics teacher, I can't fathom addressing my workflow without it. I have shared PopClip with over a dozen colleagues and all but one now use it daily in their workflow to increase productivity too. Additionally, my daughter, a college senior uses PopClip every day to more quickly address written course work. My point is, I understand you question the productivity value of many of these videos. But, I am guessing there are hundreds, thousands!, or other viewers would disagree. Also, I think Steve was pretty clear that he ABSOLUTELY thinks PopClip is something worthwhile. I actually don't know how he could have been any clearer. Last point and I'll be gone. I have never felt as though the time invested watching Steve's videos was greater than the time gained by employing some of his tips. In fact, the comparison is not even close. Productivity time saved is MUCH GREATER than the time invested watching the videos. Of course I, LIKE YOU, simply enjoy watching the videos because I enjoy learning about new things in the world of technology. Man, just thinking about all this spunky goodness is giving me goosebumps.
      Cheers, Mr. Luigi
