1989 Camp Lejeuene, we used a similar target at 100 yards, simulated 300... Breaking in on the M-16A2 (they would not let Seabees use the A4s lol) shot marksman first volley through... like a toy after the M14... thanks for the memorizes...
@TheHossUSMC I remember when there was a push in the US to convert to the metric system. It did not go over well but I do remember the effort on the part of the education system and government with regards to measuring system. I may remember this better because I am in construction where the push was greater but the good old boys beat it down :) The funny thing is it is actually easier to use once you learn the system.
Why the directions on the target. For sighting an AR, just remember the "FORS" (pronounced "force") acronym: Front Opposite, Rear Same. That's how you make your adjustments.
I usually find that if I zero at 25 meters, if I shoot at an actual target at 300 meters, I am slightly low, no big deal, so I will zero slightly high at 25 meters to compensate.
Sootch I love RITR products. I have evidence sheets copied on them, photo logs, and also the notebooks. Helps when you are working a crash or a crime sceen in the rain.
@TheHossUSMC When you got deployed overseas the metric system is the standard form of measurement, and the military wants you to get use on the what you will encounter overseas, I think the U.S is the only one left using the english form of measurement, Plus metric will enable you to calculate measurements easier and much more precised.
@thehostusmc yoy did made a good point about training soldiers on both type of measurements, I myself grew up using metric system and it was a shock to me that im going to have to use english measurements when I moved here in the states.
I know this is old material (12 y) , what makes the difference in A2 zero or M4 zero . If it is barrel length , is the M4 side to use on a 16 inch barrel even on non M4 ARs , or do the barrel profiles make a difference
@EwFreDDe I believe that is what i said, but your not looking for that level of accuracy with iron sights on an AR-15. The zeroing target is made it get you close enough for combat. Like I said a decent grouping on a man sized target at 300 yards. You're not going to be punching quarters but most people aren't looking to do that with an AR-15 anyway.
@EwFreDDe If I want to punch quarters with my .270 Winchester at 300 yards than yes. But for an AR-15 that your trying to get a good grouping within a man sized target at 300 yards. Then a 25 yard zeroing target works just fine. IMO
So if the target works for iron sights can it also work for red dots. What I mean is, if your zero for 25 and 300 with iron are you also zero for red dot?
Question I have a M&P 15 Sport it has an A2 Front post 16" Barrel 1 in 8" Twist 5R Rifiling Rear sights start at 6/8 dual aperture not a handle. My range is 25 yards 50 yards 100yards and 200 yards. I printed out the 25 meter M4 zeroing target on 81/2 x 11" paper how far below the bullseye should my POI be to be zeroed in. Thank you IRONSTORM4
today targets are not 303 meters/yards...!!! From building to building....25 meters are good enought and maybe M4 are so long ...BEST to used with a kind of fight like that is UZI...Yes IWI UZI Thanks Israel!
even in Vietnam...not so many times people change / adjust their rifle??!! even same supply between the group before or after RE-Supply....the guns not act the same but lightly change because between OL/New supply litttle different but ( INSPECT) Therefore YOU/I don't see soldiers adjust ther fun so much!!! - Back to the US..M16 are US's toys different life

These are amazing targets. If you are really wanting to truly wanting to zero your AR15 this is the way to go.

A very useful and nicely thought out product. Thanks for the demos.
Haha.....funny ending as well. Gotta love .45's.
We have access to a 300 yard range whenever we want so Chris and I are a bit spoiled in that area. Good review
Thanks
Eric

I bought first pack and they are good to go. to those saying that it is not for the M4 as the guy stated; the M4 is on one side and A2/A4 the other.

looks like I'll have to get an ar-15 to justify buying those targets..... :D

Good vid... I didn't read all the comments, but... How about a review on the grip pod and is the pod the mil one with steel inserts?
Great video how manny clicks pre square for front and back sight ?
That's what I want to
Another great video!
Discount code still valid. Shipping was to expensive. I did buy myself a Rite in the rain bullet ( space) pen , from a different source.
Thanks for this outstanding video and the deal on the zeroing targets for the AR. I've been looking for just this sort of thing!
We zero our red dot CCO to this target as well.
@TheAngryvikingman .
No they do not. They teach you how to interpret your target after each series of fire. But this is a nice product.

So is this for iron sights not red dot?
Nice to know, thanks for the info, always great vid, keep em comin!
So where can i go to get those targets?? And like how much do they cost ???
So what if your rocking the magpul mbus sight...aint got no 300m setting.
Hmmm... Wonder if they use these or something like it for the Appleseed Project to train civilian marksmen.
@TheHossUSMC LOL, we should have all learned the metric system when they asked us to in elementary school :)

Yes
quit wasting water>.> and thanks for letting me know the zeroing targets i couldn't remember what they were called!
Yes we use these to this day
from 40 years ago mine was 2R 4UP on my m16 A-2 at ft sill OK
had it written on my helmet cover band ive frogot ser#
Great product, thanks for the info. Hasta la vista jajaja muy bueno!!
@EwFreDDe omg, dude they both use the 5.56 NATO round, wtf do you think? of course they both use the same bullet
Nice targets.
Yay for Switzerland where 300m is standard shooting distance
If you don't feel like paying $30 for a Rite in the Rain pen, you can always use a mechanical pencil. The pens are super cool, though. :P
is that a regulare size piece of paper

Where to get them??
I wonder, are the adjustments on Magpul MBUS sights similar to the A2 sights?
Nathan Garza it's met for the A2
the m4 carbine is on the other side.. and youll be zero'd for 50 to 300 meters/yards..
Obviously permanent inks are good, but a simple pencil just rocks on these...
@ecollins92 sootch is NC
you can download the pdf and make copies for pennies. Not water proof though,
Will this work with an acog
Depends on the method of graduation. Is ACOG moa or metric? This one in particular is metric. We now have a few MOA targets as well.
that zero target isnt for the M4, that is an inaccurate statement. M4 is done on a different scale.
Drew Mitchell on the other side just like other zero targets.
Correct, this is a two-sided target. M4 on the reverse.
hey do you live in GA? if so me to
can i use it for zeroing my sig 551? thanks...
MOSQUITO8004ZH yes. it's specifically designed for 5.56 NATO
That target would be great for a sucking chest wound….. hahaha
today targets are not 303 meters/yards...!!!

Easy fix, don’t zero your rifle in the rain.
Most of the planet uses meters, so...
