That's so awesome! It also looked cool before you painted the lava, it looked a little bit like a temple that was being flooded with water... hmmm ideas 💡 The end result was certainly worth it, I bet it looks even better in person! Keep up the amazing work 😉
Thanks Luke. It’s definitely given me some water ideas! Adding lights makes such a difference too.
I think an underwater Lara is on the cards at some point.
I think some lights under my water features are defo going to be considered
@@KathyMillatt oh yeah underwater Lara would be very cool 😎
Legitimately the best lava effect I have seen modeled. Bravo.
I can almost feel the scorching heat from all that lava! Amazing diorama!
Thanks!
I actually got 2nd degree burns
Holy cow. The glowing effect is SPOT ON. I'm reeling.
Awesome lava!!! Great 👍🏻 job!!! I might suggest a gem 💎 on the idol so Laura can steal that 😀
I like that idea!!!
@@KathyMillatt or a glass skull 💀 bead? Something shiny 😀
Wow that is really cool 😎 Kathy. Just love your work, Chris
Absolutely love this. The theme…the skill involved. And I think I learned a lot for my Star Wars Mustafar diorama to proceed
Thanks so much!
Your lava cascades are the best I have seen, that is a titanically beautiful and inspiring project, congrats!!
Thank you so much!
Awesome work, loved the reveal at the end. 👍🏻👍🏻😉
This is one of the best, most informative AND entertaining videos! I clicked the bell, as everyone should.
Kathy is there no end to your amazing talent. What a really gob smacking piece of modelling and all you need now is a steam punk railway to connect to the model!!! Maybe next time!!!!
OUTSTANDING !! Looks awesome........LED's make all the difference and very convincing.
They really do. It glows anyway but the lights take it to another level.
EXCELLENT WORK, BEST DIORAMA I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!
Great work Kathy!! xx
That looks awesome. Actually the lava looks better without the lights, because you made it look so real.
Brava!!
It’s beautiful. I love how your vids include your occasional function blip, teaching us that there’s rarely a snag which cannot be overcome with a little ingenuity.
You could market those as nightlights!
I clicked "LIKE" before it even started. This looks cool!
That last paint job is really good.
Thanks! New lava coming up soon.
Really crackerjack lava work - a lot more straightforward than I feared it would be. But really, what I'm blown away by is the use of a picture frame as a base. Absolutely ingenious move there.
I’m absolutely blown away by this, it’s simply awesome. I’ve played all the Tomb Raider games and you’ve captured a typical scenario down to a tee 👍
Thanks so much!
Oh wow . My learning curve today is vertical. I'm building a goods shed and platform for my layout and love the washes you've applied to the stonework. I'm beginning to realise that with many washes better realism can be achieved. My row of terraced houses has a slate roof with nice slimy green washes around the chimney pots. Thanks for the video. .
Washes can really help and they’re so easy to use.
Hi Kathy, Wow! That looks amazing, love the lava effects with the lights I can feel the heat just like looking at a movie set well done brilliant, James
Amazing diorama Kathy. You keep raising the bar higher & higher!
Great build. Loved the video Kathy. You've got yourself a new subscriber.
This is fu..... amazing !!!!! A big tombraider fan
I like all of it! Especially appreciate showing a picture of the material/paint used!
As a player of Croft games, you certainly nailed the look, great little miniature, and superb lava
This is simply incredible! Your lava is the most realistic I have seen in a diorama and the whole model is beautifully done from construction to finish painting. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make and produce this outstanding tutorial.
Thank you!
It turned out even more outstanding then the Patreon preview. Outstanding !
Anything with painted on light effects is awesome in my book!
Really glad to see you addressed the diffusion issue with LEDs. The diorama looks great!!
That is fantastic. I'm certainly going to experiment with lights in water features now. Never even thought of it until I saw this. You and Luke's channel are both great, not just because of the quality of the modeling, but the techniques demonstrated that one wouldn't have thought of or tried before. Look forward to more.
Superb Kathy! Looks fantastic.
Looks fantastic Kathy 👍
You have an INCREDIBLE talent! I was mesmerized.
The more videos I watch which show lightning techniques for painting such as this and OSL (Object Source Lightning) the more I wana paint.
Thx for the great video! You got a new subber : ]
Thank you so much! The OSL worked so well here with the lava.
Wow! very creative modelling! I usually stick to more prosaic items but it sure was fun to watch you do this one!
This is one of my favorite tutorials!
Superb! It is one of the most complex dioramas that I've ever seen built and how you handled the elements was amazing. The lava is life like. First the rain and now glowing lava, you are definitely pushing the boundaries to handle natural elements among diorama artists. 🙏
Awesome! I saw the thumbnail and thought, "that looks like something out of Tomb Raider." And so it is!! Great job!
Great work, looks amazing.👍👍
WOW, your talent is beyond amazing. If I lived another 100 years I couldn't do that.
Luke pointed me to your channel. About 15 seconds into this video I hit subscribe! Awesome work!
Another great video, Kathy!
I like how you utilise a picture frame to make the base, it's tip's like that which push all of your followers forward with their own projects. Also the idea of wiring the lights up to a usb plug, again really good. Another awesome build Kathy, thank you.
Thanks Paul. I do love picture frames! The USB will be so useful in standardising all my diorama power needs.
Big fan of Iain's Designs. Great Fun build !Love it !
They are awesome!
Absolutely brilliant! Truly amazing work!
Love the lava effect you achieved! Kudos.
that is one super amazing build, you can feel the heat of the lava, ove it very much
Wow you are SO talented! That is amazing work! Makes me wanna give a stab at airbrushing lol
Give it a go! I have a love hate relationship but the more I airbrush, the easier it gets.
Fantastic idea. Scary set in scene, perfectly planned and masterfully implemented. If you don't like that, I can't help either.
Excellent job, most impressive lava!! Gorgeous and atmospheric, congrats!👍👍
I am so impressed with your lava diorama! Fantastic job!
Wow, fantastic build! The lava painting was amazing to see, beautiful layering. Subbed and liked!
I just lav it! Awesome painting skills, truly inspiring
It looks amazing. Especially the paint job on the Lava!!
I lava it! Its brilliant! A glowing testimony to your talents, highlighting your creativity and ingenuity, as well as a shining example of perseverance in the face of a dim issue, resolved with a 100 watt resolution. Thanks for sharing your red-hot passion with those of us who haven't the ability!!!!
I wish more problems could be solved by adding another string of LEDs!
Woooow !!! What a talent !!!
All I can say is that is really one hot diorama! Amazing lava flow.
Hi Kathy, top work!, You're a legend, girl, stay safe all the best, Stephen.
Fantastic, Tomb Raider is my favorite game series and your build looks like it jumped off the screen.
Showing your 'boo boos' and how you adapt and improve them is a very important, yet humble trait. We all make mistakes... it's how we learn from them that's crucial to the learning process. Another job well done !!!
Now that was very enlightening and I loved the way we discovered as you went along too. Eye for detail needed, and then the skills to actually keep improving that model, and you did all that. Super.
I like your builds. They are so inspiring. I have noticed that you seem to be struggling a bit with removing supports from your resin prints. I had the same problems, but I have found a solution.I set the exposure time to a value where the finished print is quite soft and the supports are very flexible. After washing off the uncured resin I put the model in hot water for about 5 minutes. With this treatment the supports come off easily and you will get only very few marks if any, and you don't have to sand the model that much. At the end I do the final curing.
Thanks for the tip. I remove supports before curing but had never thought that warm water would help. I will give it a try. Thanks.
This is seriously impressive! The lava effect really looks amazing, and then you turn on the lights and it gets better!
One thing: you used abundant fluorescent paints, so now run and get a blacklight and point it at the diorama! :D
I tried the black light but it makes everything else purple so it looks really weird!
fantastic work !!!
Can't wait to see you do a diorama for Zelda. Maybe the Spirit Temple or something?
Absolutely brilliant! It's a real joy to watch someone so talented and really inspiring too. Thank you and please do more gaming and or scifi models if you can? 🙂
Will do!
Blimey Kathy!! That’s amazing 😮
Wow! You are the Lucy Worsley of modelling!
That looks fantastic. Really enjoyed watching this video.
Really amazing work and loved it❤❤❤✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Would like to have an conversation with you maam.
It has honestly never occurred to me to use my acrylic plastic putty to add texture. This is one hell of a build mate! Well impressive. As an aside, could you recommend any standout Fusion 360 tutorials?
I do struggle to find good tutorials myself. I did watch some right at the beginning by Lars Christiensen. It helps to find a tutorial making something that you want to do as there are so many things to learn!
@@KathyMillatt that's a good shout. I've just found the Fusion 360 subreddit. I'll have a trawl through to see what similar projects I can find and check out that Lars. Ta very much!
Perfect, very nice work 👍
Timely video - I have to go shopping for some more florescent orange this afternoon, I'm down to dregs and have a project coming up that will need a fair amount.
I wasnt sure if i was going to add lights to my lava base or not. You convinced me to do do 😂 looks way more realistic
It really does make a huge difference. I have some lava painted in fluorescent that look good then you turn the lights on and it looks amazing!
Really impressive.
And that's not just a comment for the algorithm. 🤠
Wow, a really nice idea -and a superb implementation. I have always been a fan of Lara Croft. Especially the older games developed by "core design" were my absolute favourites. Some time ago I converted a few female "action figures" in 1/6th scale to represent Lara in her diverse outfits. Unfortunately it is difficult (or in most cases impossible) to find the correct clothing (I cannot sew) and weapons (for instance her beloved shotgun).
I like playing the new games but the design of those old games is so classic.
Incredible work, That must be the best lava effect's out there
Nice work! I love dioramas.
Great build and video!
Brilliant, looking forward to seeing the next diorama. Please keep up the good work.
Rock in!
Absolutely awesome!!!
Really nice work!
Fantastic, very cool!
Stunning work !!!
Creator on the rise!
Totally awesome, you rock!
Awesome work!!!
Wow! That's gorgeous :D ...
Amazing. Well done.
Great job Kathy, are there any plans for your return to our tv's regarding the railway stuff ? Was a great show.....
I’ve not heard anything I’m afraid. 😢
Fingers crossed 🤞😊
Fantastic work
Many thanks!
Great looking scene, the pyramid miss print was almost instant ancient ruin. Don’t think the glowing orange spray tan will catch on though😉.
Only with Donald Trump
Nice job Kathy, you sure have more patience than I do. The final effect is killer indeed. So where do you keep all of these Diorama's at? I guess you have around the wall cabinet's.
Thanks! Sadly, they’re mostly in cardboard boxes...
Awesome diorama & especially nice work on the lava!! Was searching for a "LED lava method". Do you think the fluorescend paints boost the lava effect by a lot or are they not really neccesary? I guess the biggest effect out of the LEDs comes from the translucent gel, right? Thanks for helping!
The fluorescent helps when it’s not lit up, which is probably most of the time it’s not in use. The lights make it glow more with normal paints it seems than with the fluorescent which are already so bright.
Incredible!! 🤩🤩
Hi Kathy, You should be making models for the film's , Looks fantastic , how many hours ?? , Very enjoyable , All the Best Brian 🤗
Hi Brian. I didn’t count the hours but it was fun so they fly past!
Would you consider doing a guide to approaching electronics and lighting for layouts and dioramas?
It's a great idea and I've added it to the to do list but I have a few other things before it I'm afraid. I would like to do a whole ebook/video series on animation, lighting etc.
I must admit that This ! Is much more exiting than building Model railroads. And i am running trains in n scale ! Oh if i could adapt This somehow to my layout ? Thanks for your so far best video !
I’d use the same acrylic gets for water too but it’s your layout... add some lava!
@@KathyMillatt hm maybe not lava, but how about hot iron in my upcoming steelworks, could maybe work.
This would be perfect for that. You can also get flickering LEDs which could work.
@@KathyMillatt ah thats a great idea !
