I've absolutely devoured your videos over the past week or so. You've truly inspired me to start making my own pieces for both my table top games and my action figure photography. Thanks for making this so accessible and showing your work so thouroughly, even the mistakes. It means so much to someone like me who easily gets discouraged at a lack of perfection in my own work.
Ahhh the constant search for perfection. It is something that any creative wrestles with. For me I guess I try to balance my search for perfection and striving for the highest standards with the time I have available. Either way glad I help spark something and wish you the best with your builds.

What a great vibe! It’s really interesting to see that you prime or paint just about everything. I think it’s tempting to leave materials whatever color they come in when you really want to control the overall color scheme. Use real dirt… but paint the dirt… dirt colored… seems crazy but it’s necessary. Also a great tip to hit everything with some sort of unifying wash or glaze or tone - gotta remember that one.

Dead crayola markers can be used to make columns and such as well. Take them apart, cut the felt end off and lightly sand with fine sandpaper to get rid of the labels and remove the shine from them. This also gives the plastic a tooth to attach paint onto the surfaces later.

Really liked this video! You've got a new subscriber in me! Keep making great dioramas! I have a request or suggestion: how about making a floating island diorama? There's plenty of artwork of them but almost no dioramas!
Great tutorial. The temple looks fantastic in its overgrown state, and it's great to see how it is built up out of regular materials. Did you find the primer and paint stuck OK to the plastic plants? I tried this once but even Tamiya primer just flaked off the plants.
Thank you man. Really appreciate your kind words!! I just used regular car primer and it worked OK. It is prone to scratching. I did wash the plastic plants in washing up liquid before primer to remove any oils etc. Dont know if this helped but it felt like a good idea at the time.
Thank you sir! The lichen is actually reindeer moss and is stabilised so no need to sterilise. The dirt i bake in the oven first to try to remove any bacteria etc but it is already very dry at the point of collection so I dont really have any worries about mould or similar. I have also experimented with using actual moss and soaking it in glycerin for 48-72 hours and this basically plasticises it. Over time the green colour will fade to a more yellowish colour but a quick coat with an airbrush will keep the colour constant. Hope that helps a little. Shout if you want any more info 👍👍
Please do some brick wall or garage stuff good for 1/24 scale. Maybe parking lots or garages. I’m attempting a small Batcave. Just something to display 8 1/32 scale Batmobiles from all the movies. Not trying to copy anyone’s or any movie just my own Batmobile garage scene.
Hey Ken glad you found your way round to a few other videos. I'm currently away on a work trip but will be back in a couple weeks. I have a few other project in the pipeline but consider your request added to the list. A great way to do bricks is carving them into foam (Styrofoam or xps foam), use a ruler and you can adjust to any scale you need. Then a sharp pencil or similar will get you a nice groove. Make sure you seal it with diluted pva glue or mod podge and then paint away.
I love his projects but I've never seen anyone use so much gorilla glue. lol I'm pretty sure you could use a lot less, it'll make your projects a lot cheaper too; that glue isn't cheap! I know the super glue is one dot per square inch of space. Anyway, I loved this project - I love all your projects, they make me want to get creative 😁
Haha I got given a box by a colleague and what you don't see on camera is that I also have a big box of cheap school grade pva which I often supplement. The super glue I get in bulk from amazon which saves a few bucks but I also prefer to use quality products which I can rely on, which I can say for many cheaper brands. Either way really glad you find some inspiration from my projects and hope you create something wonderful with your creative urge.
@@creativecuts7803 That makes more sense. I suppose coming from someone who usually has to substitute items b/c I can't always afford what I want I get mild anxiety seeing product used so liberally. Bulk purchasing is always smart, it's what I do for my clay. I sculpt more often than not, building everything almost from scratch to make it look the way I want. I'm going to make a lighthouse scene that's fallen apart from neglect with a ship graveyard at it's base. We'll see how it goes, I get an idea and just see what happens as I go along - much like your builds. :)

Super! Where and what type of foam is that? I only have a few of cuts I've scavenged from wherever but it means I don't have consistent thicknesses to work with, make planning model a bit more challenging. Great vid 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey bud, thank you for your kind words. Always noce to hear that someone enjoyed what I make. Foam is xps foam. You can find various smaller sizes on amazon etc but if you want big stuff ie for hills and mountains - try insulation board for your local hardware supplier. Hope that helps 👍
@@creativecuts7803 yeah I've got kingspan offcuts that I've skip dived for and they're superb for making hills (one of my mates is now paying me to make him some hills for Frostgrave). @@arkenhemnall6224 Yeah man. Just type in 'XPS foam' into Amazon and you will be met with all manner of shapes and sizes. I ordered from a company called BlueFoam UK and a box of 20mm foam turned up a few days later. Not the cheapest material by any means but for detailed work it works fantastically. @@creativecuts7803 top dolla amigo, I think I found that company when looking but never sure if it's the same or good enough stuff as all the modellers are using. Great, I'll have a search and yeah I'll chuck some Qs your way if I have them, happy modelling!
I tend to use dead stuff. Dead branches etc and give it time in my studio for any creepy crawlies to find a new home. As long as there is no rot, then it should hold up pretty well. Moss and stuff will yellow with time, but you can stabilize natural elements in glycerin which will give them a long life. They may yellow but a good coat of paint and it should last years. You can do this yourself or diorama precipe sells a ridiculous selection of plants great for hobbies. ✌️🖖👍

Thank you for taking the time to watch. More videos on the way👍
You are welcome.. That's nice... I have also a Chanel... Alex😊👍
Cool I will be sure to have a look.
OK thanks 😊👍
This looks great. Do you steralise the lichen and dirt you use in your models and if so how?
Thank you sir! The lichen is actually reindeer moss and is stabilised so no need to sterilise. The dirt i bake in the oven first to try to remove any bacteria etc but it is already very dry at the point of collection so I dont really have any worries about mould or similar. I have also experimented with using actual moss and soaking it in glycerin for 48-72 hours and this basically plasticises it. Over time the green colour will fade to a more yellowish colour but a quick coat with an airbrush will keep the colour constant. Hope that helps a little. Shout if you want any more info 👍👍
I really like the overgrown thing you got going there, well done!
Thanks. Appreciate the support. More videos on the way soon
@@creativecuts7803 Thank you so much! Enjoy your work trip and stay safe!
should have added a little figurine of Lara Croft at the entrance then it would really be epic
Funnily enough your not the first to say this haha. Maybe I will revisit this jungle theme and include her in my adventures. 👍
@@creativecuts7803 Oh you should check out Hoo's Mini World, want to talk about talent! He's a 3D Pen artist and I've never seen someone who has that much patience and talent for such small details. Absolutely inspiring! I think you'd really appreciate his talent.
@@nanuq83 sounds like a plan!! 😉 good luck and would love to see the result
@@creativecuts7803 I'll send a few pictures when I'm done! It'll be a month but I won't forget :)
I dont know which supplier is best to go for really for the XPS. I'd need between 10mm to 20mm thick. Is it simply just typing in XPS and see what comes up? Great stuff, thanks for the response!
Good luck with your project and give me a shout if you have any more questions. Always happy to help
@@creativecuts7803 top dolla amigo, I think I found that company when looking but never sure if it's the same or good enough stuff as all the modellers are using. Great, I'll have a search and yeah I'll chuck some Qs your way if I have them, happy modelling!
does natural elements like those roots last long¿¿ does the paint protect them from degradation¿¿
@@creativecuts7803 cool, im definitely gonna try this, it can save a lot of time. Thank you!
Awesome. Feel like you need to paint before you glue and scale down a bit
After I was painting it I was saying the same thing to myself. Should've painted before glueing but it was an important part of the process that I learned. Also that even of you make mistakes, most of the time you can correct them. But thanks. Appreciate the feedback and thanks for stopping by👍
We all learn from mistakes, also I need to mention as I didn’t but what your doing is great. If I was to request or give ideas for other projects an epic military battle or even do something from a game like GTA or days gone would be good. I always message people to do walking dead stuff but as I am now subscribed I will binge all your other stuff and keep waiting for more videos 👍👍👍
I like your style! Funnily enough I have a military scene planned in the near future so you can.... 'git sum!' Haha. But I love suggestions and don't be surprised if I do one of yours down the line. Appreciate the support and lots more on the way 👍
