All the tropics have lots of sharks but there are so many fish the sharks leave humans alone. Mostly. Balian is murky black-sand tinted water (from the volcanos) and it's right next to a rivermouth. This is very rare and he is just very unlucky. The black tip reef sharks you see all the time are pretty much harmless. On the east coast of the Indonesian islands they pop up near you all the time. In deeper ocean water there are big tiger sharks and they are of course very dangerous. Any bull sharks are also very dangerous.

There are pythons, poisonous jellyfish, sharks, sea snakes, saltwater crocodiles and others.

@@user-zi7lq4mo7t In Indonesia sure, but not in Bali. They have been hunted to extinction a long time ago (like the balinese tiger and leopard).

@@suchasin Yes heaps of saltwater crocodiles. Indonesians get taken every year. Bali has MOSTLY eradicated them but they still are here-and-there (they float over from Java etc) and you must be careful near rivers and rivermouths. Other islands - especially Kalimantan (Borneo), Java etc - have heaps of saltwater crocodiles (buaya) and it is a constant danger.
