The biggest turnoff for me is the ui. It somehow takes time to select and load the different aircraft types in the menu, its so annoying and ugly aswell. Why couldnt they stay with the old ui
So glad I didn't fall for the hype and waited to buy FS2024. I'm perfectly happy flying FS2020 for another year untill the bugs are ironed out of the 2024 edition.
I’m actually enjoying this. Haven’t had a lot of issues, but there is one driving me nuts. The constant “cannot connect to live traffic” pop up. But I’m amazed that I’m running this on high settings with my four year old axis laptop. An Rx 2060 vid card and only 16 gb of ram. On high! They will fix all of this and this sim will be amazing.
MSFS2024 was just not ready for release. I made the mistake of purchasing it on day 1 and regret that decision - very frustrating experiences. I won't make the same mistake again. Back to MSFS2020 for me until I read that the new version is at a reasonably 'completed' state.
I feel career mode could have waited for another 6 months. Like MSFS 2020, they should have done closed beta, giving chance to iron out big bugs + give third party devs to update / make add-ons. Launch the game with core game / sim, with Great free flight mode. Launch market place. 6 months down the line, launch career mode.
Personally I’m my opinion I think that MSFS2024 doesn’t feel as immersive as MSFS2020 the fact is that Asobo focused slightly more on career mode than the free flight mode which I think that asobo made MSFS2020 more easier when picking an airport than just waiting 5 minutes launching into a scenery that has a lot of data that has to be out in before you spawn Yeah I’ll stick with MSFS2020
I feel yuh, i have a rather beefy pc build with a rtx 4080s and an I7 13700kf, but in the middle of the woods with starlink. Streaming everything really limits my experience lol
Thanks Brandon - I appreciate your honesty - and I would have expected more of the same from the streamers. I have not bought 2024 yet and I won´t before we see a perfect working sim - but to be honest I am not optimistic that it will ever work as it is intended to. I think they should roll it back, re-think all basic concepts in the sim and re-launch it sometime in 2025 - when it works! With all the experience gained with 2020 I simply do not understand how the management of MSFS can fail to the degree they have done. I would consider letting "the next generation" take over.
Merry Christmas Brandon, this year has been amazing in the sim and the community. Thanks for all you do! And Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy New Year as well 🎉
It suggests that if there is a next one (2028?) that MS should consider an extended Beta 2, open to anyone, and free to use, for load testing purposes, with perhaps a discount for participants once the sim is fully launched. I think that I'll stay away from 2024 fo at least another month, for the dust to settle.
G’day mate , cheers for the video, but I’m not bothering with the new sim, my loading times are terrible, it took me north of 30-40 minutes to get into career mode, and it takes 10-20 minutes to get into free flight.
I just picked it up Friday and I’ve been having a lot of fun in career mode. I’m a simple guy so I’m not complaining but there are indeed bugs nothing game breaking but yes there are. Some include my passengers head sticking out of the plane, one time he was upside down, traffic planes are floating in the air which mare supposed to be parked…. The turbulence is horrible sometimes, the only time the game crashes on me is when I zoom in to a map to transfer my plane. Happens every 1/3 times. I flew the Boeing 737 for the first time yesterday and the sounds are off. You hear the engines in the cockpit and when you switch to outside it’s quiet, than the engines start to spool up as if you just got on the throttle. It’s slot better than launch.
Really can't decide how I feel about fs24. I really like some of the new tricks and effects but it just feels so 'gamey' and a bit cheesy to be honest. I like my sims to be gritty, serious sims like x-plane. This just feels so...... hmmm
There was an update/patch today suppose to fix certain airport impacts on fps … I went straight to Liverpool and Heathrow and still poor fps. But Leeds Bradford and EBBR (both purchased) are fine as before. So more testing and less actual flying lol 😂
I have given 2024 a good bash but it seems every flight has some kind of surprise. I am very disappointed about the control settings, it still gives me a headache. This sim should have been beta tested and released when ready. I have wasted several days trying to give 24 a chance. I do like the general improvements in scenery, l have noticed that and I really like the realistic turbulence while flying. I am looking forward to more updates but I’m staying with 2020 until I can actually enjoy 2024 without surprises and wasting time.
in 6-12 months, MSFS2024 will be ok. In 12-24 months, it'll be great. Im sure Asobo will sort it, but they released this far too early and in it's current state it is a Beta release. If they had said it was a beta before release, they wouldn't have got half the stick they currently have had.
I just got MSFS 2024 and the biggest drawback is that if you don't mess around with the Graphics settings the gameplay will be very laggy. I have a 3060 graphics card with 16 gigs of ram and most of my settings are on low which kinda sucks.
I'm actually stuck in limbo. The 24 UI controls are so different to 20 that I think going back to 20 will just confuse me. So sadly I haven't simmed at all for about a month.
Thanks for video and input. Seriously, the most frustrating part is, did they test this on a standalone in their own homes? Some of the bugs are so obvious and like you, I paid over $100 for this sim and we are still yet to see major improvements. The excuse that 2020 release was full of bugs is pathetic as they should of learnt by this. As for Career mode.... its okay but missions repeat so it becomes tiresome. Ive gone back to fly for my VA (QVirtual) which BTW is outstanding. Anyone else with a X52 thruster and using Inibuild planes will encounter reverse issues. There isn't a fix yet for it, like other ones so if you find one please PM me. I'm hoping FBW get their 2024 products going soon as we all love them as the FBW planes are superior. Any1 with 2020/24 scenery will have some issues with frame rate drops. I am sure that dedicated scenery to 24 will be better. Positives are Clouds, Night scenery of cities and ray tracing shadows. As for walk arounds, it would be nice to actually see wear and tear on tyres etc. I still prefer 24 to 20 (even if I have a bad taste in my mouth about their promos vs reality i.e. conned) though and guess we all have to wait for 3rd party devs to get new stuff out..... maybe Asobo should have given more info to devs earlier.
since everyones perception of the word "performance" seems to be wildly different, do you have higher FPS in 2024 vs 2020 in the exact same location and same airplane? fps, not overall "performance"
It was garbage a month ago it's garbage now but hey the grass is pretty and we glitched bears flickering by the park area now. So impressive. They should have called it outdoor simulator since their main focus is on superficial nonsense and not on flight.
I love 2020 on my Xbox pick up and play was fantastic bought a few planes and velocity one and off I went so seeing 2024 I was blown away however so far its been awful on console yes I updated the rolling cache but graphics still stutter and glitch my plug and play needed rebinding 🤔🤷 controller 🎮 and UI are now terrible when that was the appeal of 2020 everything worked perfectly so after nearly a month of trying I'm back on 2020 with great textures no crashes and fully ok control will periodically keep checking 2024 in the hope it gets fixed😢
Great vid. Basically I’ve just deleted. MSFS 2020 after 4 years of flying. Am I mad. Probably. But I’ve found the 2024 grfx so much better that it’s been hard to be bothered to go back. Also the quick loading times of the new sim. Awesome. No more half hour waits to load followed by a crash. Is the new sim better otherwise. No it’s ghastly. So many of the new ‘planes simply don’t work and to offer the sim in this state was little short of criminal by ASOBO, BUT - it is improving and I think they’ll get there. When they do, the end result will be amazing. So I’m putting my energy and effort into the future not the past. But, in the meantime please keep holding ASOBO to fixing this. So, many of your fellow influencers seem to have decided to pretend it’s ok. It isn’t, it’s a disaster, but I do think something great will rise from the ashes.
I am so Glad i have Not wasted My Money I am Still Loving msfs2020. I Knew that there Would be Teething Problems But OMG what a Mess it so was not ready for release. just my opinion. 😌
I’m highly impressed with the sim at this point. I was devastated on day one but they have def made fast, great changes. I already updated my rating to 5 stars. N have over 50 flight hours. But def hve noticed the varying loading times. Sometimes I’m in there in about 10 to 20 seconds sometimes a min or so
Graphics is great and... that's all. Problem with voices, azure speech - wtf is that about, aileron oscillation / sudden shutdowns on some planes, UI is horrible. Regardless, I'd like to thank Microsoft for stopping playing MSFS 2024 - and 2020 as its graphics seems outdated now. I'm not spending anymore countless hours in a week for playing a video game. I now do other stuff, like learning coding and increased my outdoors sports. I don't even want to try the game anymore. Thank you Microsoft for this wake-up call!
the big problems I have with ms2024 are 1/ the key binds why do I have to totally reset all my key binds 2/ all my aircraft apart from one will not port across yet 3/ why do you have to start a flight outside the aircraft you should have an option 4/ graphics are good when it works but when it doesn't due to iloading problems it looks awful and 5 / loading screen why can't you disable it as it is repetitive and boring after multiple loads many during the launch attempts
I bought the sim on Friday and not once have I thought of returning it or refunding it purely cause I've got no issues, Now I do have top of the line specs and for me on ultra settings i get about 70 + fps throughout the flight no stutters or performance drops, the graphics are brill, planes are brill everything is fine including the connection to the servers so I'm not sure what people are complaining about.
it still sucks. Really what is better in this versions besides vfr improvements? And a poor made career, and little better clouds?? No double jetways, improved turb. etc. Almost everything is worse than 2020 and will take years to add and fix again. Also for devs there are a lot of issues. Like come on. On the so far rare occasion of when it works I stand by it being more seamless than 2020, faster loading times, smoother performance, far better aerodynamic modelling and a superior natural environment, but as i’ve said in this video countless times, it’s not there yet, certianly not stable enough!
@@PilotStudd faster loading times are nice but you see a lot of people have issues with it. Blurred runways when landing etc. Yes for vfr its nice upgrade. @ Completely understand the issues, as I’ve experienced them all, but at least for me (especially over the last few days) i’ve been able to have quite a good experience, the reason I still don’t recommend the sim (as I say in this video!) is for the exact reasons you list, hope this helps buddy :)
