  • Post-millennium campaign for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, telling the story of Pam Laffin, a young mother who died at the young age of 31 after a devastating battle with emphysema. Being young doesn't make you invincible against the poisonous chemicals in cigarettes, see.
Pam's daughters were later featured in a 'connect truth' campaign called 'Replacement Smokers', and it's poignant as heck: • A Positive Image Of Sm...
Rest in peace, Pam. You were another one of the countless victims of the tobacco industry's deceitful marketing tactics. You won't be forgotten.

I read somewhere that according to her daughters she started smoking after watching "Grease" when she was a teenager (they refer to this in the Truth PSA.) I'll never look at that movie the same way again!

To be fair nobody knew the dangers and in the 50's espiecially nobody knew the dangers and people did that because of the ignorance and the fashion because they thought it made them look cool, my Grandma was born in 23rd March 1933 and she was a teenager in 1947 and everyone was smoking because of the ignorance and she got esphemyia when she was old. I found out that John Travolta was not actually inhaling the cigarette he was using. I personally have never touched a cigarette in my life nor do I want to do because it smells like Ghandi's flipflops and if it tastes as bad as it smells I am not touching one, rat poision, framalhyde and tar are in there so frankly I would rather eat dog muck.

There was a heartbreaking episode of MTV “True Life” on Pam. She died in her driveway, in front of her daughters, trying to get to the hospital. 😭
