It's not even a trend its just basic regular good looking style
it can still be a trend..and good looking
It’s a trend
@@bigmeatyveinylog like drinking water is a trend
@@dw4270 I know what you mean! This "trend" is so fucking stupid that forgets that classic and well fitting clothes always existed. Rich people have money to indulge in all the things they want and old money wears some logos too, like Louis Vuitton, Versace or Gucci. They incorporate this brands in a classic and chic way. Not in a tacky or "poor people" way, but they like some logos too.
Mfs be Zara’d out to the socks cosplaying rich people🥴
Holy shit 😂
😂😂😂😂😂🤌
So weird😂
Trends like this should be kept for the people that can actually afford to dress like it. Not some broke bitch with $12.30 on her bank account.
its a starting trend, just how hypebeast started then streetwear and now we got old money aesthetic sorry if you cant even afford zara lil bro
@@backshots07 just another shit trend for people that support shit companies
I don't care. I would choose the old money aesthetic anyday over trashy trends.
The old money aint about swag, its just older fashion people who weren't into streetwear wore 7+ years ago to look clean. Doesnt cost a lot to just wear well tailored pants, trousers or chinos with button shirts and loafers. Its a breathe of fresh air with where fashion has gone since 2016
Fully agree, Josh
Depends where you live. In many european countries its just rich kinds or people wanting to look rich that arent, wearing these clothes... if you see someone under 30 with slicked back hair and Ralph Lauren cap and a light shirt: RUN or they will tell you instantly about how nice their boating trips are haha
@@nottherealChickenJoe you're right, it is more nuanced than I explained. There is plenty of wankerish looking people who dress like this including some of the people in this video
Oh yeah I hope Comb Over with Pomade comes back too
I been dressing classy since I was a teen in the 90s. Most of my friends hated on it. 3 piece suits and khakis for me.
Its literally just business casual
I’ve been dressing up like this for years and didn’t even know it’s called the old money style and it’s a trend. Funny fact that in Italy and some other European countries, men have been dressing up like this for decades and it just came to the US.
I feel you
Americans still can't get the cuts correct, though.
It didn't just came to the US. You only think so, because you were never looking 😂
@@jaysons8050 Right. Preppies have always dressed this way. I don't know what makes this "trend" novel.
@@jaysons8050 Looking for what? I don't understand you. If you mean videos, then I didn't look for them now either it just keeps popping up and a lot of men's fashion bloggers talk about it now. But I don't really see guys dressed up like this, at least here in Cali.
So the idea here is to consume conspicuously in order to look as if you are not doing that. Gotcha. Pretty funny actually and only a little bit depressing
I don't see the "Old Money" aesthetic as a trend myself! It's always been around, since the 'Golden Era' of Style and Elegance of the 30's and 40's. It's a "trend" to the younger generation who are just finding out about elevating your personal Style and learning about how to dress better, to be a better version of yourself! Back in the day, there were'nt department stores and tons of designers around peddling and marketing their designs like today. Back in the day people had their Clothes made by Tailors and their Clothes were fitted to that individual. They looked amazing in them because the clothes were tailored to them, their body type and complexion. After watching films like the "Talented mr. Ripley,"The Great Gatsby"etc; younger people are beginning to be inspired to dress better, because they see it makes you look better and be a better version of yourself! Good for them, I think this is a good thing!👍
You don't have be rich to dress well! There's ways to get Classic Styled Clothes from Vintage shops, resale shops and even hand me downs from an Old school Stylish relative( like o'l Ralph lipschitz aka: Ralph Lauren did as a young man)! You just have to want to put your best foot forward when you step out your door!🚪So put away or donate those holey rip jeans👖, t-shirts or just save them for working in your backyard, roughing it with friends now and then when you may get dirty! Get some real Clothes that Compliment and elevate your personal Style, to be at your best!👍😊If a person looks their best when their well dressed, why not do it more often? Here's to living a more Elegant and Stylish life!🎇👍
I love the trend. Super classy and elegant
Although I like the aesthetics of the Old Money trend, I don't like how they push for buying pieces from expensive, high-end brands, knowing damn well You can find the exact same pieces at the thrift.
Same goes for tailored clothing. Buy a piece from the thrift, take it to a local tailor, and you've pretty much got a "high-end" piece for a fraction of the price.
Thrift and High Quality cannot be in the same sentence.
The idea of the aesthetic is good. It’s the label that’s ruins it. The point of the so called “aesthetic”, is to emphasize quality, timelessness, class and appreciation for subtle branding. Nothing wrong with those things. The name is given because it is usually the “wealthy” that care about those things as opposed to most fads that make a point of keeping up with the latest trends, quality is secondary, it often makes statements through brand logos (think of Supreme a few years back), and it is very much fast fashion.
Old money is probably not the best name for it unless you understand it without immediately thinking “I’m broke and I hate the rich”.
We all have preferences choose a wear that suits you, your personality, and your attitude.
I guess anyone can pull off old money style just be sure to follow the essentials and oh no need to buy luxurious brands if cant afford, just fine pieces that will fall in the style
About time people step up their fashion.
The “my dad got me into Harvard” ahh style
Like Old Money, I don’t like trends. I don’t like having the “newest” fashion to fit in. What I am interested in is their philosophy. Real High Society, not the garbage New Money shenanigans you see online, is largely unknown. They know how to handle their money and how to increase their wealth without taking huge, unnecessary risks. They dress timelessly, without making a point-because, in reality, they don’t need to. They are already graced with money. They spend on what is good instead of spending on having a lot. Take a look at the Stanley people. They collect a mediocre, expensive cup because they let trends dictate their taste and preferences. The Society would instead perhaps buy one if they saw true quality, and save their money for something worthwhile. A trendy person will buy a trendy outfit that will not be wearable in two to three years, while a person of High Society would buy clothes that could last them decades because the clothes are quality while also having a trusted seamstress or tailor for repairs. Their psychology is many times more interesting and important than just looking the part. You do not have to be wealthy to be High Society. The main focus is quality. After that it’s simplicity. After that, it’s financial intelligence.
So to be fair I am the third generation in my family to be comfortable, and I've been accused of dressing old money because I don't flaunt any wealth and now the way of dressed since I was 12 years old is apparently trendy or fashionable, I personally don't care if you want to spend money you don't have to buy clothes you can't afford to impress people you don't know go for it I'll continue just living my life just fine. 🎉
I love old money style ❤
Quality, timeless pieces are the best investment. Chasing trends will make you spend more money in the long run.
this look is cool, I'm about to build an all white casaul section of my wardrobe. Classic streetwear like your fit is the best doe, nice jacket/ shirt combo
everyone shold dress like they want, regardless of the trend, do as you love and wish
The "Old Money Aesthetic" is nothing new. It's the exact same as the Yuppie look from the 1980's. It just has a new name.
Of course the internet loves the ultra capitalistic, european and white burgueosie fashion. Of course
I’m just not a big fan of the glorification of old money, we shouldn’t be putting this aesthetic on a pedestal
Why?
I think it can be done but people trust social media on telling them how to do it
the thing is if u go to a high school anywhere rn all ppl wear is workwear like its not a 'old' trend yet
That supreme jacket is fire sheeeesh
The worst trend: gen x people who have never touched grass in their life wearing workwear
Everyone dresses like that in Italy
😂😂 thats the prepy boy look
It’s basic mens style, and it happens to be trending
it really does seems that this trend is more about being white, skinny, young or teen looking and having relatively straight hair.
In other words is the phisical look not the clothing that make you look stereotypically old money
Its basically just the average european rich teenager look...
Old money outfits are actually an excellent and versatile way to dress up. Very professional, subdued and simple compared to the flashy, saggy and expensive streetwear trends today. Old money clothing is also relatively cheaper and will last you longer compared to expensive streetwear.
Its just a basic way of how well settled adults must dress like!
Try to evolve in to this but I can’t wear it to either my job nor hobby so. I mean my hobby is really old money rich people stuff but I don’t workY
The old money aesthetic started by LVMH is just another way to get the middle class to pretend to be the upper there's no need to dress a certain way hoping that someone else will notice cuz most of us in the class don't care our friends dress however they want and present themselves however they want except in a business setting then they will dress accordingly, this is just cosplay for poor people wanting to pretend to be rich Don't do it dress the way you want.
That’s literally what it is
It’s just Prep without the colorful flair
Not a trend. People grow and their style changes. I'm in my late 20s and prefer minimal branding on my clothes and shoes. Im also focusing on timeless clothing i can wear for years.
The style has class and usually looks well put together. Dat ain’t me doe fr. Cuz 4 me n the street we ain’t bout dat. N like if you pull up lookin sweet like dat we ain’t bout u. All us be reppin dat new new. Fuck dat old money we trappin bread high key n we gun let u kno
Respect
i know you don’t like old money but why you leaning into the ghetto ness😭
@Testosterone 💀
Was this English?
Bro wants to be a dirty hood rat so bad 😂
What happened to the new short
Already did... And i love it
no simple clothes for $100’s is stupid
IF YOU THINK THAT A LOUSY CAP 🧢 EVEN IF IT IS MADE IN ITALY IS A GOOD DEAL, THEN YOU SHOULD SEND ME SOME MONEY, BUY ME A HOUSE.
Is that a Tokyo Giants cap
Been dressing like this and dumb it’s a trend but ehhh lame to see this happen
I already dress that way
Well, this "trend" is definitely not for me!
Some pull it off pretty well but in most cases I don't like it...
old money is not a thing. you either wealthy or broke haha
it most certainly is a thing but I get what you're saying as well
Hottest take I’ve read today. I suggest you read a dictionary
Instead of chasing trends buy pieces that fit your lifestyle otherwise you look like a poser or are wearing a costume. Don't buy an arc'teryx jacket if you don't spend time outdoors, don't buy a Carhartt bib if you don't have a blue collar job, don't wear boat shoes if you don't own a boat. I mean do whatever you want but this is just my fashion philosophy.
that old money look has Ø swag
nothing more annoying that all these comments from ppl acting like theyre better than everyone else just bc they dont like streetwear and prefer classic style 24/7. nothing wrong with having personal preferences but that kind of attitude.. its pathetic. personally i like some variety with my style
This aesthetic is better compare to people who rock huge logos which is tacky and trying to show off to your face that they got money
Something more appealing to
Me than what you are sporting. No offense 😅
I dont like it. I like the distressed workwear look. 🙂
I swear I saw u somewhere playing fortnite mobile
Weren’t you that Fortnite kboile TH-camr channel name was mobile boys😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I swear it was you
Yessir lol
old money is long money
Lol Stephen curry
Why would i wanna look like a 50 year old
So you don’t look poor
Yeah lets somehow make this about Race ....
