Never played Silent Hill myself but I always believe that music makes the game. Must be a quality game, they certainly have a great sense in music.
Play 1-4, every one of those are amazing games. And then the rest... Just pretend the rest don't exist :P
I played homecoming the first enemy I saw I noped and deleted the game I now feel guilt of not completing a silent hill game

Silent Hill is an amazing game, I just wish that they used actual piano versions instead of the instruments they use for the in-game music, it would have made it way creepier!

Well, I listen to this every time we are in the car and pass a ghost town or an abandoned village. Then I imagine we have a car accident and we end up there lol.
This song always gives me a general feeling of unease, like I didn't do my homework or something. The kind of gut-drop feeling when something isn't right, like something is missing. It's fantastic and beautiful and eerie.

the thing I find beautiful about this piece is the ending of it. From where it stopped it can easily be picked up again, and be repeated from the beginning. It's as if it symbolizes loneliness and hopelessness. because, those emotions never really stop; they just keep on going. The ending isn't really an ending it's just a place to stop until those feelings of solitude return to haunt you again.

Ehhhh, that's nice and poetic, but that's just how video game music is written. It's supposed to be easily looped to accommodate for players.

This song just reminds me of how strong depression and anxiety can be. Having the feeling that both all is lost but you can still see them. And others don’t see what you see in your eyes. They don’t know that what you see is deeper than the actual way they see it. They think that you feel alright but the pain is still devouring the soul in them. People say that the others that have pain are just trying to get attention....But there’s a reason why they need it. The song just reminds me of others that have depression and don’t know how to get out of it.....
But remember guys....Never give up when you get this far.....

I love how much higher pitched the song gets at 0:15. I love the original, but adding that higher octave just makes it seem so much more sad and hopeless.

I've always found this theme (or rather this recreation, really) to be way creepier than sad. Like it's signalling some kinda terrifying fate about to hunt you, like realizing something really terrible, slowly consuming your mind and going mindlessly insane but being in too much of a shock to actually do anything, just stay there in disbelief. Or the soundtrack to your death, just dying slowly and in loneliness in the middle of nowhere, regretting your past transgretions and not even attempting to make it through what's killing you, just accepting it and then slowly closing your eyes, for good.
I guess that's sad in some ways, but it gives me goosebumps more than depress me.

@@proctorritter5176 thank you! It was our favorite video game growing up (before we met) and we bonded over it a ton. So when it came time to get married, i wanted to tie it in. It became a promise of "you'll never have to go through your silent hill alone" kind of thing

Ah Silent Hill 2. One of the greatest masterpieces known to the horror franchise in my opinion. I will always cherish this game for how great it was. Nothing will top this for being my favorite game.

This song brings such a beautiful, weird feeling to me. It reminds me of autumn, leaves falling, and covering the ground. Reminds me of a gorgeous gloomy day with a cold breeze while doing something fun and spooky with the one you love. This song transports me there to that moment and I can almost literally smell the air and feel the dampness of the beautiful October day...

Every song tells you a story, and everyone enterprets it differently, maybe based on a past experience or a feeling, and here's what this one is telling me is : "someone has finally got what they wanted but only when they stopped wanting it, like someone reached a goal they so long dreamt of then realized it was never worth the efforts and sacrifices, a soldier lost all his comrads for the sake of a mission and survived alone, somebody we loved for so long and bled for, for so long coming back after we're already numb and dead, like they're not real, some kind of silhouette that ment the world at that period of time and now it means nothing at all, and it's sad cuz your past self would trade the world for it. That lost promise was finally restored but only when it was too late......

This song hits me in the gut, and scaretheater uses this alot in his videos so when I first started playing silent hill 2 it was so familiar I got really shook up and after 1 hour of parinoia my brain put it together.
God, I don't think I'll ever stop loving Silent Hill. The soundtrack was one of the best I've ever heard, it really tied the whole ambience of the game together
When I listen to this song, I feel like there's so much to regret.... But at the same time, this also makes me feel like I need to keep going, whether that means I either must keep moving on and move past what I regret, or I must keep up the act, continuing to do whatever I regret.

To me, this sounds more sad and mysterious than scary or creepy. Like I’m learning about or remembering some tragic incident that was forgotten for years.
Not sure if you ever played Silent Hill 2 but that is actually the exact point of the song. Really, the game is as much a tragedy as it is a horror piece.

This song creeps me out, i play it on piano and it sounds eerily beautiful. the piano works great with this song considering the fact that its a solitary song no need for more than one instrument and the piano works well with one instrument songs like this which is why its an amazing piece of art.
