I've been an Azure drop coordinator for over a year now with 2 friends our drop in mid-state NY grew from just 7 members to over 240 in that time! It's been a wonderful experience, and we're happy to be able to be part of helping others have access to healthy bulk foods.

This was me. I went whole food vegan then on to raw food vegan 20 years ago. I was doing great for a year but then began falling apart. Now I am whole food organic keto with low oxalate veggies/fruit. Never did well on dairy but ok on grassfed butter, parmesean cheese and hwc. Everything else makes me sick. Totally works for me. Ran an organic vegetable coop. Now grow my own veggies, buy bulk items from Azure, use local farm for meat, have my own chickens now and rarely buy at grocery stores.

You have a new customer. I was comparing your bulk products to Kroger similar products. Your prices are better and I'm certain the quality is better. I'm moving further and further away from grocery stores. I support local ranchers and I'm in the beginning stages of gardening. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful resource with us. I'm sharing with my girl friends too. We all want the best for our families.

Thanks for the interview with David it is always fun to hear him talk about his "baby".

I loved your guest from Azure. We are here in Canada so unfortunately we cannot buy from them. Many years ago I married my wife who is from Vietnam and when we were dating I told her that I only bulk buy when possible, grow our own vegies and at that time wished to get into raising beef and pork. We had at that time 1 and a half quarters of land. I had not even finished my speech on why I do this (mostly for health, as of right now I am 81 and in perfect health except for a little arthritis) and she immediately said yes I will marry you. Then she backed up a bit and said, Oh you were asking right. Of course I said yes and it has been happily growing our own food ever since. We go to the grocery about once a month to buy things that we cannot grow or produce. Azure Standard when are you coming to Canada? God Bless Joe Scott Muddy Dog Ranch

I think another reason why people don't buy in bulk is because most don't know how to cook and don't want to so they buy premade easier food.

I can ready meals because it takes less space fewer jars and the food is in many smaller portions so if I drop something it's just one or two servings and not a whole bucket full of food. You can buy in bulk and store as ready meals.

Growing up on a subsistence style farm, canning was a very essential part of our lives especially since it was unheard of for a family to have 3-4 freezers. We were feeling pretty high faluttin to have one which was mostly for meat.
One thing Mom did/taught us was her veggie combos which made use of when things would be starting or ending the ripening phase.
One of my favorites was green beans and tomatoes. At the beginning of the season you might have enough beans for only a few quarts and the same with tomatoes. She would toss the standard clove of garlic in the bottom of the jar then layer the green beans with smashed tomatoes and a slice of 2 of onion and top with a couple chunks of bacon. It was more flavorful than dumping those ingredients separately later because the flavors melted better plus it reduced the water added because smashing the tomatoes provided almost all the liquid providing more robust flavor. And instead of canning 3 jars of beans and 3 jars of tomatoes you would can 6 combo jars. The combo jars were always the first to run out in the winter.
I used to think a freeze dryer would be awesome because it would save over purchasing long term storage food. Well, until the pandemic/forced work from home fiasco. I decided it would be a great time to live off my prepper food storage. Turns out most of what I tried I didn't like but in fairness that could be because these companies have horrible recipes. But even many of the single food items don't do well to use in recipes. For instance, I make great potato and ham soup. Easy peasy recipe except freeze dried potatoes are horrible for this. But on the other hand, freeze drying tomatoes to turn into tomatoes powder is absolutely fabulous and versatile. You can use it for many different types of tomato based sauces, tomato paste, use as flavoring, tomato juice and even ketchup. Just don't know if there are enough thing that appeal to my taste buds to make it beneficial for me specifically.

Love Azure. Coordinated a drop in my area 20 years ago and its grown to one of the largest drops in my state. Unfortunately most items I need are no longer available...they continue to sell out before they get to me due to the popularity of Azure. So buying in bulk helps. But Ive been out of some items for many months and refuse to buy anywhere else.

I had a similar situation, at age 3 or 4 i got rheumatic fever that affected my heart. (1943-1944) total bed rest for a year +. I won't go into details but probably where we lived at the time , i have a high protein diet. My heart was so bad that the dr said i should have anything that required energy to digest.
My mother made fruit juice with knox gelatin and milk shakes with fresh whole milk and raw eggs,. I also could not have any kind of a stimulate like chocolate or sugary food, I had Mostly broth from different boiled soups or stew. I have never been really sick with anything and now at 83 am not on any prescription medication.

They would tell when they would be in town so one would just order bulk and pick it up on that day, thus another money saver. I like him showing how individuals are different and have eat differently

I saw that their price for organic was the same price as the non organic at the grocery store where I could find it for a better deal(not Whole Paycheck store...lol that was much higher per ounce) have had good experiences shopping for GF there. Different experience meeting a semi truck for my purchases...lol but get to see friends there so it's a 2fer!

They just give me this dumbfounded look like they have no idea because they don't cook from scratch...anything!

Great video. I have not used Azure yet. It is just me. There are certain things I would love to buy in bulk though. I need to get some of those lids - it is like a battle opening some of those 5 gallon buckets.
I work in 4 stores doing resets and I still hate buying from them unless it is a sale or been marked down. The stores do carry local organic produce, but I still find it pricy. I perfer going to an Amish store or flee markets, but due to the hours I work, it is hard.
I tried looking for places closest to me, but it is the pickup days that are the hardest for me to get to. 😢

We are full-time RV'rs and use a European style fridge/freezer combo, not a residential size. We are able to stock a weeks worth of fresh food reasonably. As much as we would love to bulk buy, this is not feasible. We have found drop sites at many of the areas we camp but 25lbs of flour/oats/etc is a huge space sacrifice we cant make. Our storage bays are full absolute essentials. Maybe if we decide to stay put we could be bulk buyers.

First off, how does one live knowing they only have 3 days of food in their homes? Also, you need to be careful and watch price per unit. There are somethings that it is less expensive to buy the small packages than the large. Sometimes, if I'm going to buy $50.00 of flour and it is cheaper to buy the 5 pound bags, I still buy $50.00 of flour, just not in the large bags. Now, Azure would get so much more of my grocery budget if they accepted EBT as payment.

And the other similar bad types of plastic. Even Tupperware didn't produce BPA free until 2010. You can get carcinogens leaching out into long term food stored in plastic containers. I am interested to hear your thoughts.

So I’m curious, you promote azure standard a lot for bulk buying and you say that it’s cheaper to buy in bulk, but is it really still cheaper with azure’s 8.5% shipping fee tacked on?

Azure is not always cheaper some things I have found Amazon is cheaper on. You have to shop prices.

a better optimized title would have been something like, "Azure Standard: Make the Switch to Bulk Buying"

It's awesome that you can support more local.

Yeah I wish they would operate the drops more like a store/ warehouse where there's more flexibility with pick up. Have the truck deliver and unpack it and you have a day or 2 to pick it up. Being tied down to a ever changing truck arrival just won't work for me

By having here a founder of a business, you are interfering with businesses of similar companies! Please don’t do that, avoid as much as you can having guests like this, which is something people see as an obvious ad anyway!

People are genuinely curious about where they get some of their bulk products. They have talked about and with several companies that they support here on their channel for many years.

I don't think there's a similar company to Azure standard. If you know of 1, please do let me know! I've been looking!
