    Hopefully I get the Snap on equivalent soon and we can compare both!
    Also I did order some lights that are adjustable instead of trying to use work lights. This will hopefully help in future videos.

      The tech angle snap-on is top of my wish list for various reasons.

    The Cornwell 1/2 drive digital torque wrench looks exactly like this new Harbor Freight Icon digital torque wrench. They have the same digital displays, lights, buttons and specs. The same 72 tooth flex heads too. The only difference is the colors of the displays and the handles. The Conwell handle looks like some kind of rubber or plastic composite handle, while the Icon has a knurled handle. And wonder what is the price difference is? Icon 329.99. The Cornwell $549.95? Plus the Icon has a lifetime warranty. I don’t know what Cornwell’s warranty is. Great review my friend. I can’t wait to see the Snap On comparison to this Icon digital torque wrench. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸

      Yes sir, check out the Cornwell website or Google Cornwell digital torque wrench. The also have TH-cam videos to on there own TH-cam channel. I wonder if there website price is any difference from there tool truck price. It looks like the same Taiwan company makes the same digital torque wrenches. Talk about rebranding with a big price and warranty difference. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸

      I have the ATD digital torque wrenches with angle. The flex head models, 3/8 and 1/2. They are identically the exact same thing as the Napa Carlyle digital torque wrench with angle too. Same 32 teeth ratchet flex head, spec’s, buttons, lights and same wording and symbols on the display. Just different color. Buy the way I got mine for more then half price. I must say they are awesome torque wrenches too. 🇺🇸😎🇺🇸

      Hopefully the 72 tooth head is better than the older cornwell digital. They were absolute junk and broke extremely easy if you were too quick with it

    @three-phase562 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Nice video, wrench certainly has a lot of features. I like the torque + angle mode, you would struggle to replicate with the mechanical wrenches. Will be interesting to see it up against the Snap-On

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      Yep, to me that's the real + to having digital, is the angle ability. They also are more precise torque wise but I don't think you can beat a split beam. But that might be me being old fashion lol.

  • @JimmyMakingitwork
    @JimmyMakingitwork 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Looks exactly like the SO $800 version? I am considering it since I've been selling off my Snap On tools to see if it's possible to be a pro without them, lol. Not sure if they are made at the same manufacturer or if the copied the Snap On very well, but either way it's looks like a good value.

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I tested it against the 800 dollar snap on very close in design, Icon almost a direct copy of the Cornwell. Surprisingly it tested better then the snap on and I also found the Icon easier to use. I cycled both 1000 times in a newer video, even though that shouldn’t matter with a digital torque wrench…..
      I just ordered the new Gearwrench E-spec torque wrench, by the specs it almost looks to good to be true…..
      O by the way been watching your channel for a year now 👍

    I used this to replace the headgaskets on the Duramax and it worked amazing. I've put on about 10k miles since with zero issues on the truck. I took a trip down to Phoenix for some work and had it in the bed tool box just in case I needed it. When I got back home after putting on roughly 7k miles for the trip, the wrench started acting funny and having a mind of its own.(cycling through menu options, beeping, turning on and off on its own) Not sure what happened but my guess is too much vibration in the back of the truck might have had something to do with it. Anyways, Harbor Freight exchanged it no problem at all and still am happy with the new one. Would still recommend this wrench!

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Weird yeah maybe just the vibration. Haven't had any issues yet with mine. Cant beat the exchange policy at HF, if it was a Snap-On you would have to send it off and wait.

    Another great video. Thank you! How would you compare this to the ICON 1/2 In. 40-250 Ft. Lb. Professional Split Beam Torque Wrench? I have a ¼ inch and ⅜ digital torque wrenches that can do between 2-100 ft-lbs, but I recently bought a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and I need to torque stuff in the 100-200 ft-lb range. I want to just buy a ½ for working on the Jeep and I am curious if you think this digital ½ inch is worth the extra $200 over the old split beam. Thanks! Looking forward to you next review!

    • @Tools-Tested
      @Tools-Tested  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! If you don't plan on doing a lot of motor work I would defiantly go with the split beam. To me the only real benefit of the digital is doing head bolts, were typically you need to do a angle after the torque.
      But you can also do that with a angle adapter for like 15 dollars.

    • @postbeam8200
      @postbeam8200 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Tools-Tested Thanks! Hopefully I won't have to do any motor work for a good long time since the Jeep has the 392 Hemi with 134 miles on it right now. Perfect explanation, I look forward to watching your channel grow! By the way the video on "Best ½" Torque Wrench" where you compare the Snap-On, Icon, and Precision Instruments Split beam, has to be one of the best and most useful tool reviews I have ever seen. It totally convinced me to go with the ICON, it was Honest, full of actual Data (CDI numbers) and helpful commentary. Really great work, thank you.

    • @Tools-Tested

      Normally if the ratchet head is reversible, you can reverse it and torque in that direction. The accuracy in forward is normally better than in reverse.
      Split beam style wrenches only ratchet in one direction.

I own 5 Snap On torque wrenches and one CDI torque wrench.
