Just so's you all know, Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan was released as the Lost Levels worldwide. Super Mario Bros 2, the worldwide version, was a re-skin of a game called Doki Doki Panic! and was released in Japan as Super Mario USA.
The whole skit with the furry daughter and her family is some of the funniest shit you guys have ever done. I'm crying laughing. "GO TO YOUR ROOM AND CHANGE!"🤣
Yeah, the og SMB 2 in Japan (which we later got as Lost Levels) was deemed too hard for North American players, so they took a game that was basically completed called Doki Doki panic and slapped on some Mario characters and released it in the states and called it SMB 2.
I saw in my youth days one of those Mario commercials. Oh the 90's. The one where people chanting Mario Mario Mario Mario and camera zoom out into outerspace and the people formed Marios face. on earth. That's the one.
I don't think I've seen a Mario ad in my life. The only ads for video games I can recall started around the mid00s with PS2 games, always dramatic trailers with no damn gameplay. I think the Wii got some love, ads with grampa playing tennis with the grandkids or whatever. But I don't recall ever seeing ads for like N46. The only time I saw anything new about that era of gaming was going to the department store and seeing what they had on the demo system. Which I never got to play because some snotty kids were hogging it, or it was broken.
And to be fair, the public school system doesn't generally have flag stuff on standardized testing so they don't teach about it. It's all about finding x and y.
@@jbagzz That's crazy, I remember learning every country and its capital in school in Australia. I probably still recognise about 75% of the worlds' flags.
14:20 I used to have the whole set. I may still have the Luigi on a cloud somewhere, but that's it. Round two at 35:15 I had the Yoshi clinger and DK disc flyer. Can't remember what Yoshi did when you pressed his shell... talked, I think. 56:15, third times a charm... but didn't have any of these
Mario 2 in Japan was deemed to be too much like Mario 1 for the western market so we got a different game. Our Mario 2 is a sprite swap of an entirely different game. Mario Lost Levels is Japan's Mario 2.
I would love for you guys to do this with "The Legend of Zelda" and "Metroid". The Metroid series has some pretty good commercials from both the USA and Japan. The American ad for "Metroid Fusion" was what made me want to buy the game. It was also my first Metroid game.
the reason nobody in america talks about mario 2 is because we didn't get the real mario 2 until the snes allstars cartridge, where we got Japan's original version of mario 2 as "the lost levels". back in the nes days, they tested mario 2 with american gamers and everyone said it was too hard - so they imported mario sprites into a game called doki doki panic and released that as mario 2 in the west. but it's not really a mario game - it's doki doki panic with mario sprites.
Two things one is when you play spiderman 2 there was a glitch that happens on the train where you would get launched so far into the sky boy it was an instant death two I feel sad that some of use out there couldn't play that 4 player zelda game on nintendo ds back then
Just so you know, the Mario 2 that the U.S. got isn't even in the Mario series in Japan. The "REAL" Mario 2 came to the U.s. as "Super Mario: The Lost Levels" The real Mario 2 introduced things like poisoned mushrooms. What the U.S. got as "Mario 2" was actually a reskin of a completely different game (I want to say "Doki Doki Panic? But feel free to correct me if I'm confusing the name with another name.)
The Final Fantasy is meant to be ridiculous. If you're judging the whole game for a single scene without understanding the context you're being foolish
I've always had a weird question so I know the game called Mario Bros and are Mario Brothers but yet they've never given us an official last name for Mario and Luigi so if it's called Mario Brothers or Mario Bros however you say it technically wouldn't that mean Luigi's last name is technically Mario and Mario is just going by his last name in his real name isn't really Mario cuz I wouldn't be surprised because Princess Peach is a part of a kingdom that some people in their culture that are considered royalty like a princess or a queen or a king would normally call you by your last name like sir Mario or something like that so has anybody else ever felt like kind of confused about that whole entire naming situation or is it just me
Everyone hates on the Mario Bros movie, it's not that bad. It's not great but it's not as bad as everyone says it is. Now Double Dragon. That's a terrible fuckin movie.
1:00:25 omfg pops scream! xD
Go go go Mario go go Mario go go go Mario

Dude i got tears running down my face
@7:12 that's rice seasoning, that's pretty popular in japan naturally
The Wii U marketing in America has to be the absolute worst in the history of the industry.

Was wondering if any of them would call that out too. Though they were teens in the early 2000s and not 1990s.
I swear the lewie impressions are becoming more and more spot on even lewie is doing it lol
The whole skit with the furry daughter and her family is some of the funniest shit you guys have ever done. I'm crying laughing. "GO TO YOUR ROOM AND CHANGE!"🤣
Oh yeahhhhh!!! Love you guys!!!
Your guys' hilarious content is responsible for my stomach hurting from laughs and my mind full of mirth 😂😂👍👍

You gotta feel for Dr. Nick right now. So sad...
Damon's reaction 1:36:26 The Best

Mario has all these cool outfits. What about something like Armored Bowser with a spiked helmet? Bowser needs some drip too!
Look into why Shenmue, Crazy Taxi and Sonic Adventure were on xbox, interesting history between Sega and Microsoft.
haha!! favorite part 12:10 was all sick and cool and then they get all derpy!! XD HAHA! "kern-ni-chi-wahhh" 12:32
Chocolate chip Charlie what a legend
The accents always crack me up. As an Aussie I fully approve. The lack of flag knowledge surely must be a troll though?
Not a chance. This is america. 🙃

@@AfferbeckBeats it is crazy! It's USA #1 much success most best
Idk, I only learned about flags in school, cause the librarian had hand-painted them across the support beams in the library #USPublicSchools

They are actually his children but they were adopted by him, Bowser Jr's is Bowser's only legitimate kid

There is all these commercials for Galaxy 2 but I never saw any or I would of got it
25:48 Why does the USA have to turn fun things from other countries into something drama-related.

those "girls" were not just random Japanese girls. they were famous Japanese actresses and they got them on to advertise the game.
🤩
