They aren't too bad to install. The best way to do the fronts safely, just jack up control arm like you did, undo the nuts, then lower and jack back in place. The main thing is to remove upper balljoint bolt, lower fork bolt, small black L-bracket with 2x 14mm, and one side of the end link off sway bar. It gives plenty of room, just need a good size prybar.
Alex, I did this job three weeks ago, and wish I could have had the benefit of this video before having done so. One comment I'd make based upon my experience, is that I'd recommend that once the front struts are removed from the car, I'd suggest taking them and the new front springs to pretty much any garage and get a mechanic to do the swap of the new Swift spring. I say this in part because one moment of inattention when removing coil springs can be very dangerous to ones health. Also in my case because I live in the rust belt, one of the nuts on the top hat was quite rusted in place. Even with the benefit of a commercial Spring compressor, proper high torque air tools, and the repeated and judicious use of an acetylene torch to heat the nut, it was a bear for the mechanic to remove it. This is due in no small part to the fact that the threaded rod that the nut attaches to can just spin inside the strut. In my case it was well worth the $60 bucks it cost me, as I can say with certainty that left to my own devices, I'd not likely have been successful in swapping the springs at least on the one side. . The rest of the install was exactly as you have shown. Love the stance of my G37x sedan now. With the addition of 20mm spacers on each of the stock 17" wheels, the car looks and handles as it should have coming straight from the assembly line IMHO. Keep up the great work with the videos and the channel! I have learned a tonne from watching them. Cheers, JP
only thing i would recommend is doing the fronts first... cuz a lot of guys have issues getting one of the front bolts out on the bottom, so you dont do the rears and then cant get the fronts off... rears are super easy
Hey Alex did you have to do any adjustments afterwards? I'm getting a sound that o can't pin point. Thought it was the hood but I adjusted that and still. Thanks for your time
Thanks for this video Ryan. I've been contemplating lowering my car but at the same time wondering if it makes sense with upstate NY snow. My brother G35s is with me and his is lowered with Tein springs but I think the car is too low. The problem is with the alignment right now and that was the reason the previous owner sold it. While driving from TN before he left to be based in Korea, the car ate the rears completely off on that drive to NY. The rears wore even but the front ate the inside tires. When he arrived the white bumper was black from all the rubber and the threads showing. Now no one wants to align the car saying it's too low and it has aftermarket parts in Albany. Will I have those issues if I lower G37s and can I still use the factory setup and parts with these lowering springs?
Beautiful Car ! Just bought a 2012 xS , same color with 120,000 on it and it's a cherry. Runs like new , paint is perfect and all the bells and whistles work. Only thing it came with 17s and snow tires. I got some all seasons for it and it rides beautiful. Better than it would on the 18s. Better for these shitty WV roads.
Hey I know this completely iirelavent to the video but I'm just in need of a little assistance on how to go about this so my car battery died one day and I got that fixed whatever, but after that my car no longer needs my foot on the break to start and on that note i cant turn it on with out turning the engine on as well if I need to roll the windows down or up small things like that I have to turn the engine on too which is real annoying so if you have an idea on what it maybe I'd appreciate it
I just did eibachs on 2008 m45S and the front struts gave me hell the whole time couldn't get that to nut off had to take to a tire shop and they used a air gun plus used the spring compreser and it was a bitch to compress the springs cause the coils were so tight so I feel for man it was a challenge.
Great vid I'm actually greatfull the front is the only hassle with this car. I'm sure a bigger tire would get rid of that that gap. Also I'm thinking of doing 2" spacers for a wide body build. And a lug stud install vid from you would definitely help give me a heads up on what issues I might face. Just a suggestion thanks for all you do.
Eren Vick thanks! Front isnt too bad as long as you have the proper tools and preferably a compressor. Plus it doesnt help if you have a car from up North like myself.
@@kova_motive definitely. Lots of snow and salt can for sure create some devil nuts lol. I'm in nc right now so I can sort of relate, agin thanks for these great vids can't wait for your next update.
In my opinion yes. Some people would say it's still not low enough but I don't care for slammed cars. Its a perfect height to get rid of some of the wheel gap yet maintain functionality.
So it's ok to use these springs with factory shocks? I have a 09 g37XS sedan sport model ,I read a comment below saying it's possible I might be needing camber arms/toe arms correct me if I'm wrong
What kind of afford6 power drills can I buy toto get the bolts off near the struts?? I dont have enough money to buy an expensive air compressed drill.
deep sp ce . Forgive my timing. My G had 112 when I decided to lower it. About a week or so I kept hearing friction from the front end. Went as far as getting it looked at by 3 different shops and the last one didn’t even charge for he found nothing wrong. He also claimed he is a suspension specialist. ( not that I asked to see his ASE certs) . However after discussing it further he suggested that the struts that were on there from factory were not adapted to the shorter spring. I did a little research and based on that and what he said made sense to me. Also in my case I initially only did the front and the back later. ( on a budget if u know what I mean) also after all that I could never get the alignment to stay. Kept getting uneven front tire wear. Based on what some guys say in the forums it probably needed adjustable control arms. I didn’t get to that point since I switched and got the M37. Lol not for those reasons tho. I hope this helps you out. Very good line of cars all in all.
Hey what’s up? I love your videos, very informative. I have a question, I do have a 2013 Infiniti G37 lowered on RSR springs, a year later I am hearing a rattle only over bumps, coming from driver side upper strut area, you think strut or strut mount needs replace?
@@markus360s Well actually I did find out about an hour later at night time with a flashlight at 1:00 am. I couldn’t take it. Two months prior I replaced with hotchkiss sway bar and the nuts that mount to the links were loose, tighten them and was perfect but two weeks later there loose again. But was 100% the problem
Too bad your G isnt AWD so you could feel the 3 hour painful install of the front springs I had to go through lol. The car will settle btw, expect about another 1/2" drop.
Highbatros haha yea thankfully its not! This was painful enough until I finally decided to use the correct tools for the job. It has settled a little. Going to get another alignment soon to make sure everything is still in spec.

Sweet. I have swifts on my 6mt sedan. I installed eibach sway bar and top speed exhaust.
The awd must be different alot in the front. The front was a pain in the ass to get out. It looks almost the same
Perfect ride height for me, definitely buying those and some koni struts

Same here. I have the m37 and dont know what's best springs or coil overs.
Looks good! I have swifts springs on my G, be careful you will scrape.
Steven Andrade havent scraped on anything yet. Even my driveway which is on an incline.
Thanks for sharing brother.
What are the wheel specs, off set and size?.
Thanks again 👍
Let's see the rpf1's on the G again. Now that's its lowered... the 18x9.5 +15
Question, How does the car drive with the lowering springs installed, does it handle better, is there a noticeable difference? Thank you
Can we get a response ?
It should, lower center of gravity
Would drive better also reducing body roll sense center of gravity is more centered etc
Defenitly recommend air tools for anybody doing fronts on a infiniti.
Fred Williams what air tools are recommended
Infiniti dealer recommended me to get camber kit to get alignment specs closer to factory numbers. Did you ever upgrade to aftermarket?
