I'm incredibly jealous that you are not only a great couple, but the best of riding buddies. Incredibly uplifting content my man. I'm glad your trip turned out so well.
Excited for the video and all the content you put out! Because of you I made the Honda Rebel 1100 my first ever bike and couldn’t be happier, thank you!
I get everything you saying she doesn’t have a windshield. I’ve been riding for 56 years 57 years a windshield makes all a difference in the world really does I did what you were doing right now at my age I got to find a hotel room lay down I’d be wore out. God bless you guys.
Yea I thought about doing a longer episode, and honestly thought it would need to be much longer than this, but all the voiceovers really helped convey everything while keeping the time manageable still. These types of videos aren’t high performers on my channel in the first place, so I was worried that if it went past 30mins it would tank. SO stoked on how it came together though!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The type bike you're on can certainly change the experience on long road trips. I've never ridden a Rebel, but I can't imagine I'd enjoy a long road trip on one. Baggers and Touring bikes are the way to go on long trips.
Great video man. I love adventures like this when sometimes things don’t go exactly as planned. I really appreciate your transparency in this too. So glad that rider is ok. You guys took great care of her. Well done sir!!
Thanks dude!! I tried telling you a few years back that you needed a backrest on your motorcycle. You said you weren't old enough for a backrest. You're riding the wrong bike for a 350 mile one way ride. I have a2023 rebel 1100dct tour. Corbin seat with driver backrest. And forward pegs. I can and easily ride 300 to 500 miles on that bike. On my 2021 Goldwing DCT tour with backrest and highway pegs. I ride 600 to a thousand miles a day on that bike. I have ridden from NEPA to key west Florida and back. So picking the right bike for the job is essential. Kinda common sense though.
One of the most enjoyable video so far, though I really enjoy them all. So proud of you and Nina for making this long distance ride. Without a doubt I would rather run the back roads. It is so much more relaxing and enjoyable to me. Great job guys and the editing and soundtrack was great!👍
Love this! Highway/freeway riding is the most boring and sometimes grueling with all the traffic. I took my 500 on a 15 day, 4100 mile trip from CA to SD (Sturgis!) and back. Went through 10 states. Majority of the days were over 300 miles, (starting at 7/8am). There were some amazing roads and very dull, boring ones. Some suggestions next time you're riding in the heat - a cooling vest, cooling towels and UV shirts soaked in water. :) It helps, even for a short period. You two are adorable! ♥
An awesome ride! Thanks for bringing me along. A quick note to Nina, if I may. I have been watching the channel before you had your Rebel 300 and I am so proud of you. I don’t mean to sound condescending. You have progressed so much in your riding and your confidence level. I just wanted to congratulate you and wish you so many more miles of smiles. Congratulations to you, Burch on 5 years of your channel. You have been through a ton of life, while building this awesome platform! God Bless you both! Keep the rubber side down and the front wheel first… Peace ✌🏻
It seems like you had a fun time! Thank you for sharing. :) It's nice to have a significant other as a riding buddy. I'm with you on long haul riding not being "my vibe." It was fun (in its own way) to ride from Tulsa to Altus, OK and back in 90+ degree weather, but a trip that normally takes 4.5h in the car, took us 12h on bikes and we were grateful for the whirlpool tub at our hotel. The trip back to Tulsa resulted in an impromptu hotel stay, about an hour from home, because it was so dark, riding Route 66 (not a well lit road in parts) and we only had dark visors. We were so sore that we just crashed out on the comfy bed with the pup who was glad were were home. Not saying I won't do it again, but I'm not jumping at every long haul opportunity, for sure.
Been months since I watched a video. I know we've never met but it felt a little like visiting an old friend. Love this video and glad to see all is good .. some epic memories made
Dude, that’s a bad ass trip on those bikes. The travel on that suspension isn’t enough for those kinda miles to begin with, and then you’re load the bikes up with gear too. Glad it was a safe trip
My wife and I just recently got our rebels, while hurricane Helene made landfall south of us 😄. Drove in a downpour to the only dealer in our area that had both the 1100 and 500. I haven't ridden in 30 years and my wife wanted to learn so here we are...been watching your videos and it helped make up our minds to get rebels as our first bikes. Technically my third, my first was a Yamaha 250 enduro, had alot of fun on both dirt and the highway with it. Briefly owned a 550 nighthawk that i used for work...that bike was a beast, had 130 on the speedo and would go past that easily, before speed limiters were a thing I guess 🙄. We appreciate you and the videos you have made, lots of good info brother. Subbed to your channel soon as we got our bikes home and as my wife is new to this i have had her watching some of Nina's videos but she hasn't subbed yet. Speaking of your lady, where did she get the bag/pouch that is attached to her gas tank? That looks awesome! Would like to get one for my wife. Awesome work and many thanks to both you and Nina.. ✌️Peace from the south✌️
I enjoyed meeting the two of you. I once rode 800 miles in a day with 200 of it in a torrential downpour. Definitely prefer the backroads to the interstate. I felt for her riding that far without cruise control.
She was totally fine 🙏🏻 Bike only suffered a broken clutch lever and mirror, which we conveniently have at home ready to send her. And she said all she had was a sore hip I think. Thank God she landed in grass and was wearing gear!!
just got home from a road trip, Edmonton to Winnipeg return, 810 miles each way, 14 hours door to door each way. Did it on my 2020 Rebel 1100 DCT. T-Rex control extenders and Airhawk seat cushion were a big help. In my early 70's so won't likely do again such long drives in a day. On each leg, spent about 4 hours in driving rain in thunderstorms and found out my Honda Rebel saddle bags are not water proof as advertised. I recommend double bagging anything you don't want to get wet.
I'm glad you guys had a fun and safe trip. I get where you're coming from though. My wife and myself have all these lofty goals of doing these big long rides. However, those highway miles are rough unless you have a lot of wind protection. I like how real you are about those struggles. The majority of the other people's channels that do a lot of long distance riding make it seem like it's nothing lol.
That is a lot of slabbin'! Trips away are great, but back roads over highway every time. Great job on the vid - nothing better than sharing a passion with your best mate!
A great meet with lots of great people! I'd say it was a huge success! I can't wait for the next trip that takes me up that way. Such beautiful riding out there, and my route there was beautiful. I went through 6 states both ways, three of which I had never been to before. Also Nina was right about sunscreen, I'm starting to peel!
You two are amazing humans! Keep it up! Also the Porsche counter was amazing and I would love to see more of it lol! I was up in Saint Georges Island Maryland last week I miss those Chesapeake blue crabs and have to come up about every year or two to get some!
I'm glad you guys had a fun trip even with all the hiccups. I've been looking into getting a motorcycle recently in your videos that help me settle on a rebel 500 as soon as I complete the msf course and save up some money for it
Despite the highway miles and the one off, looks like y'all had fun! Long hauls just hit different. I'm still cutting up the hours of footage I recorded at VAMM last weekend... 1,253 miles in 4 days. And lots of corners. It was a trip for the books.
I understand wholeheartedly not being into long ass trips on a bike especially if you are with your older lady you have riding with. Wondering if she is ok, etc … and my butt hurts after 50 miles or 2 hours on my 1100 so thank you for sharing your experience honestly.
Great video man. Long ride for sure. I grew up in Annapolis. We lived in Marietta for a year (just over the river from Parkersburg). A lot of familiar roads in this video.
yep that $35 will give a million bucks worth of relief. Just did a nine day 3000 mile trip on my crf250l with those items with no hand or wrist irritation and I'm 54. Last day was 800 mile with a load of breaks from Murfreesboro TN to near Ft. Dodge IA. My butt hurt but my hands were good!
after seeing the bike that wiped out and looking at it closely im almost 1000% sure that is the same Rebel i was looking at that was for sale in Lucasville, Ohio that's actually not to far from Parkersburg, same exact everything and even had the Harmon Honda sticker on the back lol. What's the chances of seeing it in a Burch video. Small world!
Having just done a 1200km round trip to go camping at the bike drags, I feel your pain. We left at 5am in the morning and somehow we did the 550kms there in about 7 hours. If you ever get the chance to do long trips like these I highly recommend them at least once to experience it. Twice if you’re crazy. Next camping trip will be a 200km round trip 😂
I've never been into the long haul trips either. Longest I've done is to a neighboring city which was about a 3 hour ride. Riding on the highway is just boring to me, and pretty uncomfortable after a while with that wind hitting you as you go 65 to 80 mph. Rides around town or on back roads are much better imo. I'm a daily commuter, take my bike to work, to the grocery store, to the gym, and pretty much anywhere else. But I don't do the long haul trips lol
I did my longest drive in 16 years on the midsummer weekend and drove 1500km in 3 days. Long days, as we always left at 8.00am and usually arrived to our destination at 18.00-19.00pm. We avoided highways and tried to do the whole trip through backroads with max speed limit being 80km/h (these are the speeds and roads we like). The 3rd day of the trip that was the longest was the easiest. In about 6-7 weeks we will propably go to norway and back in about 9 days.
That look like a fantastic ride. My only suggestion is maybe trailing your bikes out to the spot. You want to go ride rather than ride all the way there. Since you’re not much for highway riding. thanks for the video. I live out in Utah so I got some of the most scenic rides you can ever imagine, but West Virginia is pretty dope as well.
Hello from France! So nice to see those kind of blogs, I really like the rebel and you convinced me to finally buy one after I get my A2 License! I wanted to start with the 300cc one but they don't sell it here in France for some reason, so guess I'll start with the 500 ahah See ya next video guys and thx for the content!
Myself being 66 , around 300 miles in a day is enough for me. I thought about trying 400-450 miles in a day. The main thing is the ride back home. By the time I get back I'm tired for 2 day. I do very little Interstate riding only when necessary for short periods to next smaller road. High winds & rain wear my A-- Out. Beautiful Country Up There , compared to West Tejas
Love this video dude! Thanks for coming all this way and I’ll try to make it suck more next year so you won’t come back 😉 lol I’m glad you guys made it to and from here. Can’t wait to see you guys. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Love you both 😊
The Rebels are definitely capable of doing the long haul on highways but they definitely weren't designed for comfort over that many miles in one sitting. I did 500 mile ride over 2 days a couple years ago and I hated my bike😂 Stopped riding, got back on a few weeks later in the city, fell back in love with it again! How were your knees? How did your butt hold out on that step up seat?
I’ve gotten to the point where I just don’t like traveling anymore, period. I’ve just about seen everything there is to see and now it’s just more of a hassle than it’s worth.
Okay so, the best idea I can give for longer trips is not back roads, but state roads. Don't be afraid to get off the interstate if rush hour is happening. Also while I love my Rebel, this bike is clearly not built for long distance rider comfort. Time is your friend. Stop and see the useless and weird stuff along the way if for nothing else to get out of the saddle more often and top off. Leave waaaaaaaaaaaaay earlier than you need to. I rode up to Lake Erie on Friday. While not as long as your trip miles wise (around 220 miles there and back). I need to get more long trips in when I have the time. Ohio has byways that stretch on for miles, have almost no cars, are scenic af, and bonus, no cops.
Them long rides can be exhausting and stressful sometimes. Hey but the rebel 1100 has cruise control which is nice. I'm from Kentucky so your in my neck of the woods somewhat, West Virginia is very hilly mountainie but beautiful place.
The worst part is that I didn’t even use cruise control 😭 Nina doesn’t have it so I wanted to go without so that we were experiencing the same things. Ok…maybe I used it once or twice just for a quick hand stretch…but still 😂
I’ve done a lot of long distance riding. 40,000 miles in the last 3 1/2 years. Two things, long days riding in hot weather is always difficult, and destination driven riding, especially on the interstate, is also my least favorite. Riding with no real plans, and no reservations anywhere, is a completely different experience. I know it sounds sketchy with no plans and no reservations, but it’s the best experience on a motorcycle. Stop for the day whenever, and wherever, you want 👍
Yup, what you just described is exactly my kind of riding! “Journey” focused vs “destination” focused. This ride would’ve been much better if we didn’t feel the pressure of a deadline, and if we could actually enjoy the stops rather than feeling guilty for the time we were adding. I think if we had the leeway to stop at any random coffee shops we spotted from the highway, hitting all the scenic overlooks, etc., we could easily go longer than this next time!
So....won't be seeing the LifeOfBurch crew getting their Iron Butt ride in anytime soon? haha. I feel it though, 3300 miles in and still on the factory seat for my 1100t(Honda really should give you a tiny kickback, wonder how many other rebel owners found initial info through this channel) and if I hit over 1 or 2 hours in the seat...I need 30 mins to an hour of butt rest. Makes long rides a bit more tedious if you are just walking around a gas station parking lot trying to get your hindquarters feeling normal again hah.
Beautiful video!!! I enjoyed watching the whole thing! What was your range on a tank of gas on your 1100? I’m so glad you’re able to do this for a living, your content is A+!!
Thanks so much dude, I really appreciate that!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 On this trip I averaged between 48-52mpg. The gas light starts flashing pretty early around 120-130 miles, but once it starts flashing there’s a full gallon left til empty. The most I ever filled up on this trip was 2.92 gallons at 142 miles. The Rebel 1100 has a 3.6 gallon tank, so theoretically I could’ve made it ~170 miles on that tank and had fumes left. The Rebel 500 gets better gas mileage, so it was always interesting to see Nina end up needing less gas than me at every stop 😂 But her tank is also .6 gallons smaller, so it all evened out.
Bro, I started watching your videos because I'm looking at buying a Honda Rebel I found on FB marketplace and I appreciate you both. I just realized how close you are to me when you said Severna Park 👀😂. I live right over in Catonsville. So if either of you two know where I can find a decent bike for a couple grand 😅, lmk! Thanks 🙏🏻
What a lovely trip! It's the hardships and unexpected events that make the best memories :) Do you think that you could do the same trip or equivalent on the CL500 if you tried (comfort wise)?
Yeah, there's some special mapping skills to avoiding traffic & especially missing the Rush Hour Commutes of every med/large city..... I've done a lot of those 1200+ mile trips but not on a bike. What's up w/ your leaks? I thought I heard you say the water coolant hose had a leak & then I thought you said oil was leaking..... both suck but I'm curious is it both & what's the cause? Guess it'll be, "Content" for 2 videos? 1 fixing the water system & another for the oil. I'll be patiently awaiting those. peace
These days I am more of a local rider as well. I will take half and three quarter day trips that I will enjoy. Longer than that and I start to feel it physically since I have a neuromuscular disorder. I also don’t do traffic and will avoid summer weekend riding.
Sounds like we enjoy the same kind of riding! I can do hours and hours of traffic-free backroads all day, but throw in highways, heat, and traffic…no thank you! 😅
I used to LOVE highway miles but now I'm just out there like ok, my legs hurt a little. This is cool but can I just be there now? These days I'd rather go 40 on a back road than 70 on the highway. Oh and captains wafers are the shit. Good choice.
We have put down nearly 7k miles in the past 6 months. I avoid the interstate like the plague. Not why I bought a motorcycle. I want to see America and you can't do that properly from the interstate. Our range is typically only about 350 miles as well. Sometimes it may take a little longer but you might be surprised, not always. Just some suggestions is all.
Looks like y'all had fun - but dude, what's up with all the oil leak problems with the Rebels? Seems like as long as you've had the bikes, there's been an issue with the oil leaking. Is this systemic to the Rebel in general? Do other riders complain of the same issue? I really want an 1100 manual, but am hesitant seeing this problem.
Dude I LOVE me some nothing, nowhere.!! One of my top artists for sure! In like 2017 I was like “Who’s this dude that has a song with the singer from Dashboard Confessional?” and the rest was history 😂🤘🏻
I noticed with Google maps and long trips i add 2 hes for every 500 miles...😂 drove to Savannah in February said it was a 9 hr trip. Took me 13 hrs. Now i ran into bad weather around alt... but still. I think Google is not super accurate. 😂 or could be me.

a good rule for long hauls. every hour stop for gas and stretch for about 15-30minutes. It'll take a little longer but you'll like it way more.
I think every 15 is a bit much 😂 maybe every 30 to an hour
I was expecting an hour mega video. But this came out great!

Thanks dude!! It was quite the trip. Next time we’ll definitely find a way to allow more time so we can take the scenic backroad route more 😅
Gotta be my favorite LoB video yet. This one just hit right.
Great video Burch and Nina !!! 🤙🏽
Best Sunday morning feeling, waffles and Burch. Also, love the voice-overs lol
Thanks dude! Voiceovers are uncharted territory for me, but I reeaaally like how they worked out in this. Now pass the damn waffles!! 🧇😂
You two are amazing humans! Keep it up! Also the Porsche counter was amazing and I would love to see more of it lol! I was up in Saint Georges Island Maryland last week I miss those Chesapeake blue crabs and have to come up about every year or two to get some!
Great compilation of tons and tons of mileage!! Beautiful scenery!
It was sooo pretty!! Almost pretty enough to be worth it 😂🧡
@@LifeOfBurch hahaha!!!
I'm glad you guys had a fun trip even with all the hiccups. I've been looking into getting a motorcycle recently in your videos that help me settle on a rebel 500 as soon as I complete the msf course and save up some money for it
Love the gauge on these bikes. Makes me want a rebel despite the fact that I need a dual sport.
Hell Yeah! Looks like you had a great time. This really makes me want to get out to ride! We all should get out for a day trip to somewhere soon.
nice short trip. I suggest cramp busters and clamp on cruse throttle lock, it will make a world of difference.
yep that $35 will give a million bucks worth of relief. Just did a nine day 3000 mile trip on my crf250l with those items with no hand or wrist irritation and I'm 54. Last day was 800 mile with a load of breaks from Murfreesboro TN to near Ft. Dodge IA. My butt hurt but my hands were good!
It was nice to meet you. You two were quite genuinely nice.
Great meeting you too, we’re stoked we were able to make it out there! 😎🤘🏻
Awesome video.
I personally love this type of long ride.
Glad you enjoyed the trip!
after seeing the bike that wiped out and looking at it closely im almost 1000% sure that is the same Rebel i was looking at that was for sale in Lucasville, Ohio that's actually not to far from Parkersburg, same exact everything and even had the Harmon Honda sticker on the back lol. What's the chances of seeing it in a Burch video. Small world!
Damn small world for sure! I wouldn’t doubt it’s the same bike 😳
Yup, exactly where I bought it LOL!
@@mtator18 awesome! Killer deal on a great looking bike.
Just seeing you cruising at 74, and all the scenery. Makes me want a 1100
Great Video! Stay safe and always have fun....
She is using that extra punch from the 300-500 upgrade
Oh yea she was LOVING it!! So nice to be able to cruise around 85mph when that used to be her absolute top speed! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
Good warmup for yall to do an Ironbutt. :p
I go see my cousin in Morgantown all the time from DC, I'm glad I'm not the only who likes the views on I-70 and 68.
Blown away by starting a video and seeing the gas station right down the highway from the boxing gym i go to! that really took me by surprise lol
Loved this video!
Thanks you for made my day ! nice ride
Great content, well done!
I haven’t been to Parkersburg since I was a kid. Nice little city
I wanted to start with the 300cc one but they don't sell it here in France for some reason, so guess I'll start with the 500 ahah
See ya next video guys and thx for the content!
That’s so awesome!! Thanks for all the love and support from so far away! 🙌🏻🙏🏻🤘🏻
My first multi-day trip on my 1100 was West Texas to Tampa in 3 days. I made sure to start earrrrrly! Only a few backaches 😂
Long road trips on the bike or the perfect opportunity for audiobooks. Helps the mind focus on something.
Great video, and awesome views!
Thanks dude!! 😁🤘🏻
Love this video dude! Thanks for coming all this way and I’ll try to make it suck more next year so you won’t come back 😉 lol I’m glad you guys made it to and from here. Can’t wait to see you guys. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Love you both 😊
Can’t wait for the next one dude! Thanks again for everything!! Much love brotha 🧡🧡🧡
The Rebels are definitely capable of doing the long haul on highways but they definitely weren't designed for comfort over that many miles in one sitting. I did 500 mile ride over 2 days a couple years ago and I hated my bike😂
Stopped riding, got back on a few weeks later in the city, fell back in love with it again!
How were your knees? How did your butt hold out on that step up seat?
Great vid and thank you!
Dope video
Got to get yourself a Goldwing.
On this trip I averaged between 48-52mpg.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Do u have maybe a link to the magnetic tank bag that Nina have on her rebel 500?
Thank you 🙏🏽
Ninas new rebel is dope af.
Right?! It blows my mind every time I see it! 😍 🔥
Can you tell me what are the name side mirrors mod and windows shield 🛡️ ? Would love to get those for my Rebel thnx ❤
Nice music choices!
What a lovely trip! It's the hardships and unexpected events that make the best memories :)
Do you think that you could do the same trip or equivalent on the CL500 if you tried (comfort wise)?
Yeah, there's some special mapping skills to avoiding traffic & especially missing the Rush Hour Commutes of every med/large
city..... I've done a lot of those 1200+ mile trips but not on a bike. What's up w/ your leaks? I thought I heard you say the water
coolant hose had a leak & then I thought you said oil was leaking..... both suck but I'm curious is it both & what's the cause?
Guess it'll be, "Content" for 2 videos? 1 fixing the water system & another for the oil. I'll be patiently awaiting those. peace
19:49 Final Destination has traumatized an entire generation.
Yeah I've been skipping the bike for a few weeks and been playing with the boat. Water is a lot cooler than the road.
Yea this weather has been gnarly! I don’t blame you for swapping to the boat-orcycle 😂🤘🏻
Nina’s nails for the win!
Aren’t they baller?! 🍋
Perfect example for NOT riding with strangers. They will get you injured or worse.
Good looking out for the young lady that lost control for a moment. Bikers looking out for bikers. Cool. Iceman. American Legion Rider.
Wasnt expecting burch to be a fan of nothing nowhere 😂🤟
Dude I LOVE me some nothing, nowhere.!! One of my top artists for sure! In like 2017 I was like “Who’s this dude that has a song with the singer from Dashboard Confessional?” and the rest was history 😂🤘🏻
we spend so much money on everything else in our riding kit; i think everyone should just spend the money on a transition visor.
My bike has one and I could NEVER go back! Hers unfortunately doesn’t have one available. Her next helmet it’s a must though!!
I noticed with Google maps and long trips i add 2 hes for every 500 miles...😂 drove to Savannah in February said it was a 9 hr trip. Took me 13 hrs. Now i ran into bad weather around alt... but still. I think Google is not super accurate. 😂 or could be me.
