  • Beach Construction:
    If you are thinking of building a large water feature or contemplating the idea of having a beach in your water feature design, this is a video for you!
    Join John G Adams, of Modern Design Aquascaping Inc., as he walks you through a beach installation on a large-scale recreation pond. Beaches are one of the best types of interaction areas for larger water features. When properly designed and built, a beach will not only draw in the kids and the pets, but it will even create a place that the adults will be tempted to plop down in a chair and cool off on a hot summer day! Enjoy the show- life’s a beach ;)
    Modern Design Aquascaping has been building custom water features since 2000 and has been a Certified Aquascape Contractor since 2002. They have built in 6 countries, and over a dozen states in the U.S. They specialize in custom projects that change the way people spend time together outdoors. Happy Pondering ;)

    Do you have a video only about jets that teaches stuff like how much head each jet adds to the pump needs, how far each jet shoots at each diameter, how to know how many jets you can have and still have a nice waterfall and bog, etc?

    John, that looks like a great pond. Using two layers of underlayment to defy kids shovels reminds me of a question I have. What do you think about crawdads/crayfish, in koi ponds? Can they interact in an artificial ecosystem safely? Will they dig through a liner and cause leaks in hard to find places? I'm reminded of my experience with carpenter bees, they tunnel through wood like it wouldn't seem possible. I have seen ants chew through folded rubber and crawdads dig tunnels in very dense clay. What do you know about crayfish in Koi ponds with liners?

    • @KoiAddiction
      @KoiAddiction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We have had ponds with crayfish before, never had any problems with them before.

    Hi John how many inches should I put my smal aqua blocs in ground for 3 slate vases

    • @KoiAddiction
      @KoiAddiction  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you look back at our fountain installation videos to the installation on the stacked slate earn I would use that same installation technique with uncle blocks instead of the aqua basin.

    John, how do you keep the logs underwater?
    I want to use my old walnut tree as a barrier but it's lighter than water. I don't see rocks on your log.

    • @KoiAddiction
      @KoiAddiction  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We do have it pinched in, if it floats away that will make a good video…how not to install a log LOL! Happy Easter ;)
